Rainy nights
Dark and cold
Alone on the road
Tires swerve
out my lane onto the curve
Goodbye to my only friend
The end

You fly freely
With no rules
Your wings out like flags
On a windy day
Seeing sights along the way
How does it feel
To have a taste of what’s real
Lucky birds man
Invocation Jan 2019
How is it I can reach out and bless everyone I touch except you

You tell me I'm enough
I'm doing well
I don't believe you

I disappointed myself again
Even if you can't see it
My bar was set higher than you set one for me
You said shoot for the moon and I shot for a Pluto that others said didn't count anyway
Please don't hide your needs from me, I need you to depend on me or I'm going to go crazy watching you work yourself to death ...

Stuck in a chair,
Mind disappeared somewhere,
No time, and no care,
No place out of there

driving alone at 2 a.m. again
there’s no more you in the passenger seat

the rain and i are alone at 2 a.m. again
there’s no more you to dance to thunder with

i’m staring at the ocean at 2 a.m. again
there’s no more you to tell me about the moon

i’m terrified of being alone at 2 a.m. again
there’s no more you to save me from myself

As you sleep peacefully next to me
I silently hold in the tears
I lightly shake my foot
And my heart painfully breaks.

To be so lonely
When only inches away
You lay.

As our souls die
In the bed we lie
Our hearts break
And no longer we can take.

Our paths separate
Our love fades
Though it didn’t last long
The pain will linger for decades

You are my first true
I thought you were the one
But now I must let you fly
Like the Dove
You are my love.

Until we meet once more.

COLLAB. WITH AUSTIN DRAPER

It’s little more than a quiet thought.
The impending feeling that the loneliness
was a creation of my own imploding self-conscious.
I wouldn’t have hurt you voluntarily,
so what outside force could know my mind so well?

It’s little more than a spoken word.
The rumble of the oncoming storm could be felt
from as close as 1.6 miles away,
where the darkness of your room invaded the
not-so secret spots of your heart.

I’m prone, to the truth in your words.
I’m not used to the idea of confronting my thoughts
And sorting them out to you.
Is it that I spoke wrong words? Or I stopped before they meant anything?
You mean so much, and now you are out of my reach.
I did the first two stanzas and Austin did the third. I really like it, it's the first poetry collaboration I've done.
