Then there are those moments which touch the soul,
and you wish you could freeze them in time.
Sometimes, mere moments of kindness can heal years of pain.

I can’t write about it.
I can barely think
about that day on the bridge.

But thank you—
for letting me hug your dog.

You didn’t owe me kindness,
but you were still kind.

They say trust
is innocent,
they call me naive
for lending things
and knowing I’ll get them back,
for asking for truthfulness
without checking for lies,
for believing someone when they say
they’ll keep my secret safe,
for giving a hand
and knowing I’ll get a thanks.

But if kindness is innocent,
and ‘oh so pure of me’,
then maybe that’s why
we keep ruining things.
Because of course I know the risks—
of course I’ve been betrayed—,
but I choose to ignore them
because empathy
is my thing.

So, if kindness is innocent,
then turn me into a kid.
For real, like. I lended something to a teacher once (a pencil for his computer) so he could do some online lessons with another student from a different year group, and one of my friends went “oh why’re you doing that, he won’t give it back”. And I was like ??? dude, if you have trust issues it’s not my fault. He’s a teacher, he’s gonna give it back. (He gave it back).

The glimmer in your eye
doesn’t shine the way I remember.
There’s still kindness in your gaze,
          but it feels hollow.
Your eyes look worn,
like you haven’t slept in years.
Do you even remember
          who you are?
Still I give you the coffee
that you might love more than me.
So I can sleep next to you
while you stay up at night.

The world's colors fade behind cold bars,
Human hearts trapped beneath silent scars.
Joy once bloomed in gardens we once knew,
Now shadows stretch where love withdrew.
chains unseen hold down fragile dreams,
Hopes's soft whisper lost in hollow screams.
W e wear our cages deep in the blind,
Invisible prisons that blind and bind.
Once life was painted in warm embrace,
Now cold silence strips the human face.
Eighteenth and nineteenth centuries' glow,
had softer hues beneath the sorrow's flow.
Though world was dark ,hearts sparkled bright,
Carrying kindness into endless night.
Today we lock ourselves within despair ,
lost colors pf care dissolve in air.
The prisoner's  bars are walls we built inside,
Hearts caged by fear ,where hope can't hide.
But in the darkness seeds can still grow,
To break our bonds and free the souls.

A meditation on Philippians 2 and I Corinthians 2.  There's wisdom there.

The race to the top of silver rain mountain,
it's on the way down to the rivers of riches,
headed out west on golden threaded miles,
through the trees of greeds green ghosts,
in valleys of gilded breaths and golden hushes,
merchants, muses blow on as paper winds,
stay a while on beggars promises,
all to collect their coin of dreams.
greed is a hollow journey. pursuit of love, kindness, gratefulness, community, equality, fairness and peace i.e. things with depth will forever hold more value. greed can be found, of course, in all of these. Be grateful for what you have when you have it, even when you're struggling to make ends meet, especially then.

My honest opinion on hate?
Love it!
Smother it with compassion!
Being blindingly gentle
And barbarically kind!
Make love to it! Or,
**** it!
