My darling,
For 2016:

1.)  I hope you know you have nothing to prove.
2.)  Please stop wanting to end life early. Every sunrise is made for you. Realize that every night the moon kisses you good night and the stars ask that you choose to stay.
3.)  I hope you find time to be more grateful.
4.)  I hope the world surprises you with beautiful things in return. I hope what is normal never becomes boring to you, and you always see things with a sense of wonder. I hope you still believe in magic.
5.)  If it’s past midnight and you’re still awake for no reason, go to sleep. Rest. Clear your head. You will have more strength tomorrow.
6.)  Stop hiding behind your sadness. Wipe your tears, let it go. Learn how to be alone without hurting.
7.)  Learn to actually be there for people. You will be amazed how good real companionship feels. Believe me, you don’t appreciate your friends enough. Show them. Share your life with them. Be happy together.
8.)  Cherish that guy. He loves you; stop doubting it. Be there for him, not because he needs you, but because that’s where you want to be. Protect each other.
9.)  I think you already know who you are, deep inside. And it’s not how you think of yourself on a bad day; it’s not how greatly others think of you. You’re confused now but you’re trying. One day you will be greater than all of this, and you won’t even realize it.
10.)  I hope this is the year you become everything you want to be, but with a heart like yours, you will always want more: to do more good in the world; to be better, kinder; love deeper, love truly. Despite your struggle, I hope you realize you’re already all you must be.
11.)  Continue to live in the best way you know how.

What words can tell;
Of heavens Angel
Alive for all to see.
I speak to her,
In whisper-tones,
A cross, a mighty sea.
I saw her,
Once,
Upon a time.
Her graceful presence,
Still fresh in mind.
If Love can happen,
At first sight.
I wish I may,
I wish I might...
Have this wish...
I wish tonight.
For you.

Leave the world just for the night,
come with me,
let's go climb.
Through my window,
to the roof.
They say stars point out the truth.

Staring up, a clear night sky.
Leave the world below us behind.
For on this roof,
I can fly.
For on this roof
it's you and I.
Let's stargaze all night long.

Sold my soul to an old folks home.
Comforting, surrender to the norm.
Uneventful life, void of purpose.
Melting ***, a varnished surface.
Synthetic reason to go on.
Walk a line until its gone.
Follow your dreams, live for something. Fight for something

there was a boy
simple and true
once looked up to the night sky
and saw the elegant moon
he stared to the celestia
and started to dream
when i grow up
the moon i shall redeem

i said to my father
father, when i grow up
i shall grab the moon
father chuckled and laughed
and hit me in the rough
and said
son, you cannot grab the moon

but the heart of the boy
was yet unwavering
and his dream lived on

i saw my sister and said
sister, when i grow up
i shall grab the moon
sister simply smiled
and said it's impossible to be done
so my dreams have now been derailed

doubt now entered his heart
and sent his dreams apart
but looking forward he sees
this dream is only for him

i saw my teacher and said
teacher, when i grow up
i shall grab the moon
then teacher did
what my father had done
and said
boy, your dream cannot be done

the boy now lives today
with his dreams shattered so soon
and now will he be known
as the boy who did not grab the moon
we shouldn't stop the young for making their dreams come true, no matter how absurd or ridiculous it is

There is a thing called Forever
it can be a scary thing
it watches you when you wake
notices when you sleep
hears every light whisper
knows every secret you keep
holds in its hands all you love
and at its feet all your hopes
your dreams hang from above
and everywhere it mopes
Forever is unknowable
for Time gave birth to it
because Time loved Uncertainty
so much that they had to be together
Forever.

A moment of silence
Will not change history
Will not bring back the dead
Will not replace tragedy with victory

A moment of silence
Will not reverse events
Will not restore security
Will not resend tears

A moment of silence
Is only to remember
What life was like before
We lost our patience
We gave up our hopes
We lost trust in our faith
And decided –
Segregation is the way to world peace
Separation is the way to independence
Solitude is the way to heal

I stand before my mirror today
Drawing on my eye line with a black pencil
Adding weight to the lashes that protect my eyes
Shading my lips to a hue that is not my own
Knowing, that my true colors beneath all application
Will be judged against my character
Will be imposed with expectations against my vision
Will be depended on with no gratitude
Will be compared to stereotypes of ideals

I would like to take a moment of silence
Today and everyday
To accept who I am
To recognize what I once was
To let myself grow

This moment of silence will guide me
Today and everyday
To dream with my eyes wide open
To realize who I need to become
To find the hero within me

I am taking this moment of silence
To create history, instead of become
To live before I die
To reform my failures into victories

I am taking this moment of silence
To live this day with many new beginnings
To trust myself to recreate security
To replace tears with courage

This moment of silence
Could take my breath away
But I will stand still
For our saviors would do the same

When I told you "I love you."
It was my heart
When I chose to cross-over
Shout out that it's done
It was my mind
That was an era that started a war
A rage that erupted
Conflicting feelings
Disheveled emotions
Vague decisions
The siren signaled
Man is the enemy
Woman ran to the open field
She looked for shelter
Man dropped the bomb
Woman surrendered
A white flag, man also raised
Both died-  but not in spirit
Man and woman felt alive
Man lifted the woman's hands
Together they marched as one
The darkest days have ended
If this was a siege, man and woman
Both are veterans
The renegades of love die last

"Where are your hopes and dreams?"

"It's in my heart."* I replied.

"But it's broken!" they cried.

Is it wrong to have hopes
And dreams in a broken heart?

You don't keep them anywhere
Where they would fade with the time.

You don't place them somewhere
Where they could be forgotten.

They must be safe in a place
Where they would not cease to exist
Or be passed by the hands of time.

Even if the heart, itself, is not safe.

And when your heart breaks,
*That's when they become true.
