Falling in love
is like holding your breath,
you will constantly ache
but you're afraid to let go of the way
her hair smells of lavender and spring.

Falling in love
is like bursting into flames,
you will perpetually burn
but you're scared you'll forget
the warmth of his chest when he holds you.

Falling in love
is like taking the first flight,
you will struggle, you will stumble,
you will fall,
but once you taste the clouds
and dance with the breeze,
you are limitless.

Burned down feelings
in shadows of my home
Past childhood memories
wretched and be sown

Flames seared the walls
horrors still in mind
Many trails of tears
beaten and unkind

Smoke induced the senses
demons knocked me down
Left in traps and symptoms
Listen without a sound
My childhood home burned down and a day before my birthday, 5 days ago. Many nightmares beside me in that house.
She sets fire to everything she touches,
I think as my mind burns.
I can't have anything, she takes it away.
Engulfs it. Entraps it.
Monopolizes it.
I can't have anything of my own.
I am sent spiraling into a retrograde.
Screaming at her to stop
as I try to grab the things out of my
burning house.
"DON'T TOUCH THIS, DON'T TOUCH THIS DON'T TOU--"
Everything she touches turns to ember.
She will ruin everything I love.
I just need to hold on to one thing.
Anything.
She sets fire to everything that is mine!*
My mind burns.
I scramble to save anything I can salvage
as the flames bellow in
and the smoke engulfs the room.
"COME BEFORE THE FIRE GETS TO YOU.
DON'T TOUCH IT, DONT TOUCH IT, DONT TOUCH--"
It's a race between me and the flames
as they dance around the floor, walls,
ceiling.
The room is swallowed in smoke,
and I stagger outside
coughing and swaying.
I can't salvage anything before the entire
house burns down.
I look,
disheartened at the place where
foundation used to be.
Nothing now but rubble and wispy smoke,
knowing this would happen from the beginning.
"Look what she did," I say as I clutch the lighter.
Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

I breathe in the smell of you,
And lose sense of place and time.
A drug that sold me into rehabilitation.

I know you're not what I need,
And you're not what I want.
A square peg for a rounded hole,
You don't fit my new form.

I wish you did.
I wish you would.

Intoxicated by the aroma of the past,
Incensed in innocence,
We both thought we needed to save each other.
Or were we just hallucinating?

Were we getting high on the fumes,
From our little hearts smoldering?
Or did it not hurt you,
When the flames began to spread?

I'm sick because I love that smell,
A smell that can ****,
And I wanted it to.

Breathe in,
Forget the tears that put it out.
Breathe out,
Remember her glow in the light.

Breathe in,
Forget your new identity
Breath out,
Remember her touch in the dark.

I breathe in the smell of you,
And lose sense of me and mine.
My drug that opens all the wrong doors,
And shuts all the right ones.

So I'll take another drag if you want me to,
And you can watch how I writhe.
I don't mind being on fire,
Just go to hell with me.

Right, left, back – what?
Flames flicker to the rhythm of
Your feet
And waver
At the ripple of my laughter.

Your palm pressed to mine:
Fire soldered to water.
I twirl and
Your eyes
Extinguish mine.

Burning is something beautiful
Flames licking the air
Reaching
Trying to get ahold
Just a grasp
A handful of the night
It tries to hold it up
But
It has no real support
Yellow flames
Gold
White, and red
Orange and green,
Lowering to blue
Just like the Aurora Borealis
The coals smolder
When the fire flicks out
Embers glowing orange
Cinders
And
Ashes
All that's left is black and grey
Shale and ash
Coal black
Sparkling in the sun
It kills
It burns
It hurts
Everything in its path

Everything about fire
Is beautiful.

close enough for you to touch
but careful if you try
she will burn down oh so much
she will make you sigh
she will blister skin and bone
catch you with a lie
she will take and not atone
baby you will fry
she will keep you in a trance
while your end is nigh
with her in the flames you'll dance

in the end you'll die

When put to words
They do not feel the same.
When said out loud,
Come across as burned out flames-
They seem as somewhat distorted,
Not what You see inside,
Rather concealed and tamed,
The intensity not quite portrayed,
On the equivalent high tide.

I can see a smoky haze
The billowing fire died down
Once clouds of blackness
Obscured the bright sky
One flick of a matchstick
And a single spark
Enough to spread the mayhem
Caught off guard
Every dried leaves and sticks
Came into the lure of mighty fire
Flowing like a raging ocean
Flames gallop like wild horses
Forests are bogged down
To become ashen-faced
Once a glorious site
Now ravaged by mighty flames
Spiraling out of control
Winds give wings to the flames
They travel far and wide
Across the forest floors
Unruly flames engulf everything
Sooner flames will die down
But the smoky haze will obfuscate
The vision to look beyond
It’s a maddening haze
From the fury of embers
