The remover of all obstacles,
O' Vighnaharta
I fold my hands and bow my head,
In prayer
You've always been my key pilot
O' Vinayaka
I come to you with all my heart
O' Lord of Lords
My knowledge comes from thee
In abundance, you've shed your blessings
Upon me
I offer my soul, my lifes all deeds
To thy feet
Hail O' Datta
I welcome you in my life everyday
At this Ganesh Utsav
I request you to visit me today
With your favorite dessert and flavouries
I've decorated a plate,
Sweet ladoos, modak, paan and durva
With this red velvet hibiscus garland and flowers
I am standing here waiting at the gate
In the temple, inside my soul
Where blossoms the energy to carryout my role
Dear Father,
You never disappoint your devotees
In this aeon of cycle, on this earth and beyond
You'll always be my protector
Coz my soul shares a devotional infinite bond
With you,
Ganpati Bappa Morya...

when I laugh,
the whole body
one big mouth
of laughter

when I sing
words emit
like a seismo-
seismograph

If I squat, drowsy,
all my teeth are
melting down
a whirlpool

walk, look back
and wonder,
whose vanishing
footsteps
are they
meanwhile,

my as-lost-as-me
friends, frantic for
shade in the sun
and can't find it

together, like a
splash of colours,
we loll in the garden
for the madness to pass

later, at home they ask
about the blood red
eyes, I say, it was
some colour, some holi
*Bhang is a milk-based drink traditionally consumed on the day of holi, the festival of colours in India. This poem was first published in the Mar-Apr 2012 issue of the Reading Hour magazine.
A tomato entreat
this noteworthy beat
so meaty the leaves that the seeds
forget a triumph in heat.

A true measure in taste and
discover this variety that the sauce tastes great.
Scads that stalk and made summer
with righteous clamor
their soul searching voice now taciturn for prose
when a nightshade glisten best
in a round table of choice they frocked noble propose
if a dirk and cloak were there
while choir was equivocal rejoice
with nonchalance wound smatter his chest
whom did say he was right?

You have come in my heart and village
Very beautiful to make the world
The wind is peace around,
Animals, birds and human beings
Lots of happiness today.
White clouds dancing in the sky
The cuckoo sings on the mango tree,
Beautifully flowers are blooming today
Many days I had to wait
Well done today you came.
How to say- the joy of heart
Bwisagu you became my happiness.
Today you are my sweet song
You are my body and heart,
You are my pure new dream
So you made the new world
Beautiful sky, new road and the peace wind.

The festival of Holi is about colours,
And as well as about all the sweets.

Put the red Gulaal,
Or eat the Gujhia!

Put the purple Jamuni,
Or eat the Gulab Jamun!

Put the pink Gulaabi,
Or drink the Cannabis!

It's not illegal on Holi,
Yes, legal is the Cannabis!

And what you say is Happy Holi!

Meandering, staggering, the squelch of fun
I cross the field of dreams
To step off the world, just for a while
Is all one needs it seems

You captured my heart, I cannot explain
What you do to me
The world outside, a thing of the past
I'm wrapped in a bubble of glee

You're good for the soul but that's not all
You take my troubles away
And if I could, no matter how I ache
A few more days I'd stay

But a few more days is never enough
I never want to leave
My heart, forever in your mud
The real world you reprieve

And as all the years go by
I never do forget
All of the joy you give to me
And I ain't seen nothin yet

Oh how I love Glastonbury Festival

When Christmas and New Year's Day are finished
and you are tired and all your energy has diminished
When all you can do is creep into dreams
Of being in a new year
Yet having one toe dipped in the past
Sleep and dream of happiness that will last
Tomorrow's not going anywhere
The present is all we have
Yet we can make more memories of good times had
and they can live on with us
Good times to discuss
With our friends who we trust
So start new trends in the new year
Make new friends and lets be clear
But get some rest for now
Because you have worn yourself out
and yet the future is ours
For the taking
whether in dreams or reality we are making.
