Orange’s split skin, smiling
puckered, and vibrant, stiff
as watermelon rinds,
and melted crystalline,
the crawling amber that reminds me
to make an appointment with God
and tell him he designed
the flower incorrectly.

Confess to him that the colors are all
wrong, the stems should not bend,
the petals should be immortal
so I can trace your birthmarks forever.

Risk burnt retinas to watch
how the light trips over her shoulders,
certain I am staring at the sun until
my eyes fog over, gray, and I pluck
out my eyelashes one by one.

I pray the next set of eyes will be worthy
to absorb her hypnotizing corona.
I will be o.k., I have had my fill
of beauty to last 10 lifetimes
, I think
as I sit and drink her shadow like wine.
Alienpoet Sep 2016
She was the dream that never ended
Her garden was always well tended
Technicolor flowers and trees
Birds and bees.
But in the distance the shadowman danced
when the sun set in the sky
He spoke about the whereabouts of the moonchild
Their child together
A link they couldn’t sever
For they were divorced and divided
The shadows grew when the moonchild rose
The shadowman had the night, she had the day
But the shadowman kept the child from her
if the child chose it would be midnight forever
and the shadowman was manipulative and clever
His son he always spoilt with many gifts
but his son the moonchild sleeps and dreams of his mother
He will never hurt her or any other.
But sometimes on an eclipse
the moonchild steals the suns light
and his father and mother fight
But he always gives it back.
because the light of the Sun is blinding to the moonchild
and he has to let it go
So the sun will again glow.

Find me as moon glides full
Crowning at the gateway of worlds
Eclipsed where creatures lurk.
I wade through dense thickets,
Unscathed and ethereal,
Self waxes and wanes
Until silted water
Runs clear.
Find me in a starlit riverbed,
Strewn on silent shores
Softened by darkness,
Aglow at first light where
Bright bodies camouflage
Constellations of thought and
Winking eyes.
Find me held, stocked on a shelf
In a catalogue of dreamscapes,
Snow globes, unknown worlds.
Find me in moments
Ripe with beauty,
A juicy morsel that feeds
Ancestors who linger and long for
Tastes of modern blood.
Find me traversing pages,
A neatly arranged
Expansion of a perennial
Universe within.

The sun will chase the moon
Through the clouded dark of night,
The moon
Ever skittish
Will hide
From the ever growing light
Of day before the dawn's sweet kiss
Reminisce the taste of your lips
For a love so great
The whole world watches
As the sun and the moon eclipse
Jack Jenkins Jun 2016
You're over there and I'm over here
Separated like the night sky from the day
We go round and around following and fleeing
A desire of a union meant to be withheld

The gentle glow of your spirit and the warmth of your beauty makes you more desirable than the sun
The rays of my heart and the enchantment of my love makes me more desirable than the moon

Onwards we chase one another throughout all of time
Seasons of rain and growth pass to golden leaves and snow
All the while the stars fall asleep and we continue to run

An eclipse of the heart,
Sorrow celebrates,
Darkness reigns.

Your are a flavour of mystic flow and justice
Resounding effortlessly in vapoured divinity
A channel spinning within your furling crux
Cheers to our cups of leisure and pleasure

I turn around and your warmth embraces
I'll wait holding the gaze of your bright eyes
I'll wait touching this revolving total eclipse
I'll wait as I sense our forbidden mind-scapes

I have sensed your whole when we are apart
A near leap to meet, cuddle and feel the vibration
Uncovering the glistening gem that penetrates heat
Fondling the electric ******* oscillations under the bridge

Here is my cup, holding a rapture of your breath
Here is my cup, melodically swirling in fine entertainment
Here is my cup, exhuming and exhaling our magical essences
Our cup it is! Cheers! As we sprout and bloom pleasantly

I was the cool moon,
You were the blazing sun.
Together we were an eclipse..

Now now I'm just missing the taste of your *lips.
For all those lost with love.

Gave it all,
Exceeded beyond the toll.

Found every way,
Even there are reasons not to stay.

Thought about giving smiles,
Even if it meant a thousand miles.

Every pain was endured,
Lowered every stature.

Sacrificed all that can be,
So that there will be you and me.

For a long time it was shown,
But you see everything as the opposite tone.

Saw how the road was paved,
But one stupid incident got it all erased.

Went to a point of begging,
For you not to start packing.

What happened next?
Maybe time is still giving a test.

Always want to hear your voice speak,
But now it's an utter eclipse
A stack of effort is still less than a mistake even if it meant everything

Eclipse, n.
A phase when the universe is completely dark, minus the illuminance of millions of stars dancing around the earth and the moon, celebrating the reunion of two objects in an embrace of shadows and light, in which no one can see what happens on the other side of this event, but you and I know exactly what is happening.
If I ever publish a book of poetry, I would have an entire section just for her and title it "Eclipse" and add my definition.
