worshipping you
is the only religion i know;
being alone with you
is the only heaven i want to be sent to.
- i hope you know you are worthy of worship.

It is you who I blindly follow

For every kiss, we have made,

Tastes like blood and mint

With the bitter decay of a lotus heart,

Just as spoiled as a cup of

Pu-erh.

My love, I see you walk in rays of light
Crowned in gold, a wondrous sight
You hold me close and my heart takes flight

I want you to tell me
about the things that you love
and watch the sparks fly

You leave offerings for a temperamental deity
and hope she doesn't ruin your life
like she's done a million times.
You keep doing it because there are days,
oh,
there are days,
there are days when she causes the sun to tan your face,
rain to nurture your crops,
and you love her so dearly,
your lady,
your mistress from above,
that you keep leaving food offerings,
writing prized literature,
singing songs,
giving everything.

She gives,
and she takes away.

I swear I try not to act so immortal.

You'll be my goddess;
just make me a believer
and I'll worship you.

It was a beautiful day
The sun was out
The sea breeze
And the crashing waves

I was raring for a dip
And I was curious
I was drawn
Like newly hatched turtles
To the sea

I can’t recall
The exact moment
I felt the tingling sensation
Of the saltwater
On my sole

It was fun, at first
The contrast of
The cold water
And my warm legs
Yin and yang

Dazed, I went forward
On and on and on
I was clamoring for the cold
Even if the sea
Didn’t seem to mind

The water was up ’til my chest
But I didn’t notice it then
The waves were higher
Hitting me more regularly
Like clockwork

The water was up ’til my nose
I couldn’t breathe
Well, I did but it was
All water

I try to go back
But the currents pull me in
And then I realized
I was in too deep
