hunters.
stalk their preys.
over prairies
over landscapes of metal scraps
that rise towards the sky.

they see them
perched on metal trees
and copper bones
remnants of deadwood
feasting on worms

they stay lit under lamps
cooing. cooing.
to clueless hunters passing
enchanting passersby
pecking. chewing. whispering
over tales spoken by the wind

and when a hunter come they go
fluttering leaving nothing below
a loss of a hunters' game.

it takes a lot to ensnare a dove
a little lot fill you with love
it might take a lot of effort
a lot of bird seed, a lot of money
she might fly away
she might ignore you
she might even leave
a hunter must have a lot of tricks
in his sleeve.

My heart is weak
Tear it down peacefully
Joker’s card, replay
Pulled my breath
outta me
Now it’s dealer game
A good night’s sleep
Or pacing windows
in the morning at three

i did not leave
because i thought you
would eventually ask me to stay,

yet i spent the night
and you still had not asked

Tonight, let's take a respite from the kids, get all dressed up, and head for the local grocery store.

We can even wear matching masks, take turns pushing the cart, and steal Kisses from the candy aisle.

You're on top of my shopping list, little lady, along with the melons and a case of toilet paper.

It may not be dinner or a movie, but it has its own romantic aura of about six feet in diameter.

Take my gloved hand & let's dance away at the checkout line, mask-to-mask. It's love in the time of COVID-19.
See Mrs. Timetable's "Grocery Store Date Night Morning After" poem.

The silver lining
of her otherwise fuchsia
underwear, was in its ability
to sense danger.

The gray area
of her otherwise rosy
lips, was in who they were
allowed to kiss.

The red alert
of her otherwise bronze
thighs, was for what attempted
to get between them.

The white elephant
in her otherwise beige
room, is what happened
to her prized possession.

Is what her profile reads
I feel this statement needs
More than minor revision
For her words malign my vision

Of an exquisite lady
(a bit plump, maybe)
yet her eyes are a sweet fountain
Where my heart longs to remain

Her hair is a lush wonder that fills
My mind with life like the Pembina Hills
Her plush skin is preciousness bronzed a ***
Kissed softly by they passing of Apollo the sun god

There is no “just”
about her I must
become more aware
of a beauty rare

Could this lovely
lady speak with me
Seek to see what the stars mean for there to be
If I am to be meant for her, and her for me?

Ache of being isolated grown too close
You spin the wheel, though wary
Weary too
Another raw encounter: open wound
Another tongue duel probing to find out
The rule you’ve never broken
A lure, if spoken; left unsaid, a doubt
A bur to hook the tighter those who run
Nursing the rub
The present friction burns of uncertainty
The pleasant fictions formed to fill the gap
This shifting scene that saps with sifting urgency
This morphing tempter mutely mouths its name
Read my lips
Spill my dear
Do you decline
Or feast fears
Climb into bed
Sip on the nectar
Transfixed

While I discreetly
Wandered around
Looking for nobody
You quietly found me
And made me
Your somebody
When you’re unaware someone already found you.
Mrs Timetable Jan 2020
Standing in my doorway
After an evening out with friends
He asked can I give you a kiss
I said yes
But I kept giggling
And giggling
Every time he got close
I kept giggling
I kept giggling
I couldn't stop
Obvious nerves
He waited so patient for me to stop
But I didn’t stop
Finally he covered my eyes

First kiss
This kiss was from my husband of 25 years. My one and only love. I think it’s pretty awesome.
