The canister fell, its contents spilling.
Paint-infused water covered the floor,
permeating the cracks of the tile,
staining it.
Brushes lay wet and askew.
The artist stares blankly,
briefly.
He picks up the container
and carries it to the sink.
There is little water left,
and what is there, is quickly
poured.
He watches it swirl downward,
indiscriminately,
into the drain. A fleeting
spiral.
He is finding the beauty in small things.
This is a slightly reworked version of the poem that is much closer to the original in form and content. I couldn't bear to share the fully original version, as I really don't feel like it's aged well at all.

The clay mug fell, shattering,
the water inside staining
the floor with its murky
paint-infused hues.
Brushes lay, wet and askew.
Blankly, the artist stares,
the sound of his breathing
emphasizing this moment.
There is beauty in small things.
A major rework of an older poem from my high school days. I will also upload the original

i think they saved you up
for my rainy days -
collecting gentle drops of dew,
(your heart)
the peaceful dance
of raindrops on my roof,
(your voice)
the warmth of my bed
on a gray day,
(your arms)
soft sunrays breaking through
dark clouds.
(your smile)

i think they saved you up
for my rainy days -
you,
with an eternity of love,
a gentle tide
to wreck ghost ships of tiredness
that live inside me.
you,
a serene potion to drink
on days when the other stuff
just doesn't work.
you,
head cocked to a side,
laughter clear and calming,
hands sure and soothing.

i think they saved you up
for my rainy days,
it's funny -
they forgot how much i love
the rains.

I admit.
I used to wake up
in the middle of the night
and stare at you.
I absorbed your body in my eyes.
Nothing amazed me more than
watching a violent hostile human
remain calm and intact.
It was my only moment of peace
with you next to me.
It was the moment you reminded me
of the person I first fell in love with

"Goodnight"

Today I am at peace

I released a few crippling thoughts
and the apologies I finally wanted to give
It brings a smile to my face how each day felt like a race up until this moment
I feel calm and serene
For once I don't want to shout or fall down and scream
And I thank you for being willing to listen

To live a truer life
I fancy quiet surroundings
To allow me the lull of my inmost thoughts

The sojourney longing has barely begun
For Your company to Keep
I kneel down and plead forward

Mercy on our souls living in a worldly world
Complacent feel when only my breathing I hear

Let's not rejoice in a darken solace
But in a rich, cloaked affection.

I found Peace
Rare contentment in adjoining my tomorrow
Repose I have found.
Do not permit other agonies

Your quiet disrupt
And when strifes erupt
My tomorrow is now much coeval
The sought peaceful living I entreat
It's Tuesday and usually, I either feel dull or anxious. It's still early in the week and there's so much to do & accomplish. I hope this poem soothes your soul as it does to mine.

I’ll sleep when time rises
In the quiet
Of Saturdays.

And as heaviness weighs
My web-veined lids,
I’ll breath in

The silence that
Is morning.

No matter the clap that may fall
           before the thunder all
is but static vocalization

brought on by a contraption
of air that after its initial

                                            breath

golds nothing more than a breeze.

And although it may seem loud at the time,
its just posturing to spread fear..

but once the  air dissipates it nothing more
than what was heard large amounts

of condensed air... that was meant to scare...

But in reality it learnt us to understand that
even though noises are loud there's an explanation

that it was just meant to scare and in reality
once you learn the truth.
Your free to understand that everything
is an illusion, till you understand

the truth behind the noise of lies.
