like the plants

in my garden:

i breathe,

i live,

i exist.

i let the people who

pass by

admire me.

i grow slowly.

i climb quietly.

wait for me to bloom.
i bought a small succulent today, a zebra plant.

i called it debra dimagiba.

the word “dimagiba” is actually two words in filipino - “di magiba” which in english means, it can’t be broken down.

We are nature's ***** of reproduction,
A new life begins inside us.
As our wings unfold,
the tiny petals one by one,
We expand our beauty,
From a bud to a flower,
From a child to a woman.
Sweet and succulent,
Butterflies and men around us flutter.
Exotic fragrance is our essence,
Colourful and elegant,
Seductive and ravishing,
Soft to tread on,
Abuse us not,
Or we wilt and die.
We delight the senses,
Bring a smile to the faces.
We, the flowers are a perfect gift for every occasion ,
To a mother, sister, daughter or lover,
As a bouquet, a wreath,a basket,
Expressing poetic sentiments.
Red roses, tulips and carnations,
A lover's gift.
Orange lilies and dahlias,
Hail memories of joy and happines,
Mother's Day,birthdays or special events.
A basket of yellow sunflowers,
daffodils and daisies,
Accompanied with gourmet, fruits and  chocolates,
Ideal for visiting the sick and friends.
Lilies , roses and chrysanthemums,
A wreath placed on a grave,
To respect the dead.
Last but not the least a bouquet of white orchids,
For newly wedded brides,
Pure and untouched.
We both are beautiful,
Lovely for sore eyes,
But, the lady has a soul,
We, the flowers have not.
Beautiful flowers and beautiful women are same, only flowers do not have a soul

I am most happy when I don't feel the need to prove it
when there are seeds being planted in my belly and flowers blooming everywhere I touch
and my own company is enough
and if every person in the world had a negative thing to say
I'd wrap myself up in my own kind words and bury theirs with yesterday
and when it hurts- because transitions always do
I remind myself of the battles won
the regrets I shed like second skin
and the warmth I felt from the bridges I burned

the petals fall
the colors twirling,
twirling, twirling
falling
falling
one by one
slowly falling
descending
in the moonlight
beauty unseened
illuminated in the moonlight
not to be seen
the sleeping humans
unaware
the petalls
blow away
away
away

life can
be so unfair
but our souls came
with blueprints to bloom
—with DNA to brave
the swamps of
despair

i watched you bloom
in retrograde’s view
and felt the stars
fall in Love
with you
too

If you pick me, you will forever live in poetry land.
Flowers blooming all the time.
If you pick me, you will always be enlightened with the word.
In the word our life will be sustained.
In all directions, I will protect your heart, mind, and spirit.
Falling into temptation, never making it my intention.
If you pick me, our love will overflow like a river in every season of life.
Breathing life,
Exhaling hope, despite all the chaos in this world.
But before anything,
you must be His favorite one for me.

nature flutters, waltzing in time with the breeze
lazy sunlight filters through branches
we lie together, two blending into one
you wind a stray curl around your finger
i turn to look into your eyes,
bluer than the august sky
freckles spatter your cheeks
all around us, things bloom
my heart along with it
yeah yeah I know nobody wanted more sappy love poetry but deal with it
