Arya Night Oct 2020
Her touch brought light into this world.
Her smile chased away the cloud around my heart.
Her lips breathed air into my lungs,
forcing a breath, I didn't know I had been holding.
Like a flower in the spring day sun,
I basted in her light.
pitying those who could only see in black and white.
my love
my brave love
I do not know then,
it was your rainbow blood
and allowed me to see the world.
that it was your color that seeped through the creaks
of their concert cities
and built me a
home.
Away from all those who couldn't see the color of love.

What’s it like to be black
Whole life pre planned before you come out the sack
We are creative and they hate it so they judge us for that
If selling mid to they kids
Is your plan of attack
You need to smoke a spliff with em
*** it’s bigger than that
This **** is bigger than rap
This **** is bigger than the memes
That you’re sharing on snap
We got the ku klux klans
Hiding under the mask
The Oval Office filled with squares
And they dumb as a mat
Our own president a racist
And it’s stupid in fact
I wanna beat his fathers ***
Just for teaching em that
Look em in the eyes
Just to show em I’m mad
I’m sorry mr Luther
I’m with Malcom on this
Look we tired as ****
They worried bout some buildings
When they killing the kids
I can’t even go outside
Without fearing the pigs
How A simple rollin stop
Turn to you’ll be missed
Celebration of my life
***  your fear of my skin
They won’t even stop there
They’ll do it again

Every knee bowed on our neck
even when we’re right our tongue will confess
just to stay breathing.
Snakes in the grass that we’ll tread and hex that lays seething,
fake bleeding, just as a reason to decay our meaning.
The rage is heating but their passion for us stays freezing.
What’s next? Modern slavery is them open-carrying
weapons that prosper and officers that foster beatings.
Their face red as a lobster sneaking on someone black just to accost her.
Blue is the color of mobsters that fed lead
to someone innocent; she bled dead in her own ******* bed.
We could be doctors, seeking to uplift with our waters but instead,
we’re razed to the ground, wasting away in a plot
as we rot! Yet we wrought nothing in their haze.
Our offenses aren’t grave but we dance with dismay to our graves.
September 23, 2020: It’s sad to know that our lives don’t matter to people. They want to take our hair, language, music, everything else. They take everything. They make us into what we’re not and take from that image too. I wish America cared about black people. It’s so ******* exhausting being a black man in this country. Black women have it worse. Again, where is our reprieve?

We hexed the moon
We burned downtown
We killed Carlos
We started a plague
We started riots
We almost started a 3rd war
We protested and got shot
We killed our year
We said it would be better
We lied and broke it
We tried and failed it
And now I'm sick of resentment
But we can improve it
It's been quite a while since I wrote something but I'm back for a bit :)

He had a disconcerting posture, one that
makes people feel uneasy about themselves.
And the days seemed to roll over— obedience to the
incessant pounding of violence and tumults.

Makes the people feel uneasy about themselves
when they lie down instead of uproar. When silence is
the incessant pounding of violence and tumults.
When the hush of a mouth becomes asphyxiation.

When they lie down instead of uproar. When silence
becomes weapons. Days roll over— obedience to the
hush of a mouth— becoming asphyxiation. When the word    “breathe”    becomes    the    last    one.

Militance of an old construct
Ethnic-centric pathology‘s
You, yes you
Stand still or die!

Hands where we can see them
Drop it, on your knees
Hands behind ya!!

It appears you have unpaid fines
Sorry we had to shoot you
We thought you were reaching for a weapon.

thinking about how cops are beating protestors senseless not even 20 minutes from where i live.
thinking about how they block off the streets and stand unmasked, batons in hand, other hand resting pointedly on their gun.
thinking about how it could be me next— another unspecified black face and black body and black existence snuffed out— a hashtag, a mural.
(and those are the lucky ones.)
thinking about how a memorial is the best case scenario for a black life.
thinking about the bodies in the street.
thinking about blood splattering the ground, mixing with paint and obscuring the “black lives matter” lettering on the road.
thinking about the chalk art and loud music in a neighborhood soon-to-be-gentrified.
thinking about how we’ve grown used to the stench of rotting flesh outside our doors.
thinking about the taste of blood in my mouth from my nearly-severed tongue i didn’t realize i was biting.
thinking about the tension in my neck and jaw.
thinking about the way my eyes never seem to close.
thinking about the eyes that will never again open.
thinking thinking thinking.
thinking.

all i heard was a loud noise
something was wrong
i felt a sharp pain and in an instant it was gone
im in a loop of that moment continuously unable to break free
the harshest pain to endure is my New reality
i heard a loud noise
i know something is wrong
outer body experience ... my body face down on the ground
all i did was go buy some chips out the corner store i was no threat
all i did was read a book , all i did was have an asthma attack, all i did was sleep in the comfort of my our home and it happened while i slept , and the crime scene that you were supposed to be was not my own .... i heard a loud shot i knew something was wrong officer i cant breathe .... now i'm gone
my life flashed before me my last moments why me where did i go wrong , what did i do to deserve the death penalty , you are my judge jury and executioner , yet i thought only god could judge me
no ****** is ok ... not even from the enforcements that's supposed to ensure my security
the world is a sick place people worried about a superior race
racism is  our downfall
