I would have waited for you
if you had said
something.
I would have waited for you
if you had said
anything
other than
nothing.
It's getting to be too much; my eyes don't moisten anymore,

as I run from the monsters lurking in the floor
Of my beaten heart

that's been ripped apart

All these voices inside my head

Are enough to push me off the edge

And as the fiery sun slips over the curve
,
and rays of golden sunlight grow dimmer; I observe

:

The deep ocean of the night
Grow with no light

And the shadows come alive

bringing monsters as they dive

Into the window and through the door

Out of their hiding places returning nevermore

As I tremble, and I shake

because I know I'm in their wake
Once again I dread this time

But I secretly enjoy their company
And that is my crime

Don't let yourself
Get close to me
If you don't
Intend to stay
Don't dance
Along the
Thinning line
Of loving and
Going away

Don't allow me
To attach myself
To who I think
You are,
Better strangers
With whole hearts
Than broken
Lovers
From afar.

Sleepless
Remembering days from forgotten pasts
But time could not heal so fast
Two hearts to shatter as brittle as glass
The day in which I saw you last
I haven't seen him in a long time...

If there's empty spaces in your heart,
They'll make you think it's wrong,
Like having empty spaces,
Means you never can be strong,
But I've learnt that all these spaces,
Means there's room enough to grow,
And the people that once filled them,
We're always meant to be let go,
And all these empty spaces,
Create a strange sort of pull,
That attract so many people,
You wouldn't meet if they were full,
So if you're made of empty spaces,
Don't ever think it's wrong,
Because maybe they're just empty,
Until the right person comes along.
This is not my original, but I loved it so much that I had to share it. All credits go to Erin Hanson: http://thepoeticunderground.com/post/52503853906/empty-spaces-june-9th#_=_

And at the end of the day
When the shades have been drawn
When the lights have been dimmed

When the doors are closed,
When the bed is ready for you to crawl in
When a single candle burns on your nightstand

At the end of the day,
When you have shut the world out
When you have fallen to your knees

When you are all alone
When you are naked
When you are shivering before your God

When your tears fall so fast
And your voice rattles and is unrecognizable
Like an old car engine about to die

I hope, I pray
That with an empty breath, a squeak, a sigh
You say, after all you have seen, felt, and heard

*You are still good.

I stare at the mirror
A creature stares back at me
She has no features on her
But she keeps on banging her fist to be free.

I stare into the giant river
The ripples wrinkle her smooth face
Devoid of nose, devoid of eyes, devoid of lips,
Her face, I see, is the emptiest place.

I stare at my reflection,
But I'm acquainted with an unknown countenance,
Staring back at me like an empty piece of paper,
Begging words to be written on her to make sense.

But making sense wasn't enough.

She professed she'd die for him,

Not realising he wasn't even living for her
