Invasion
the invasion of my house
started three days ago
the creatures who are invading
do bother so

they're only small
but there is so many of them
just this morning
I saw ten thousand of them

it seems like they quite like
invading my house
they're in every nook and cranny
in my house

I can't get them to leave
they just won't go
they're sticking around
and some have crawled onto my iced vo vo's

maybe the constant
hot spell of weather
has caused them to invade
that's why they prefer
to be in my tenement
which is a welcome place of shade

should the temperature decrease
in the days ahead
these little blighters
will take leave of my stead

but for now I'm saddled
with these invading bush ants
I'm just so happy
that none of them
have found their way
into my underpants
One to make you smile...

Haiku
neath the maple's boughs
copper leaves were tumbling
in a mounded pile
she took her own life by way of a rope
on a shearing shed rafter she hung
with life's stresses she couldn't cope

no oxygen present in either lung
this is what her daughter Emma found
on a shearing shed rafter she hung

much sadness and shock twas around
her depressive condition she did hide
this is what her daughter Emma found

Jean decided to take a suicide ride
ever so devastated were her kith and kin
her depressive condition she did hide

the air of life is a vapor so thin
one should be thinking of existing
ever so devastated were her kith and kin

on a death ticket Jean did her traveling
one should be thinking of existing
she took her own life by way of a rope
with life's stresses she couldn't cope

Green Colored Bucks
I'll be living in a manner most grand
once the lottery office puts the cash in my hand
I'll not be sticking around this old roost
when my bank account is given a nice boost

I've crossed all the numbers on my entry ticket
and should they be drawn I'll be on a good wicket
one shall be relaxing and having an extended ball
one lives in anticipation of a lottery office call

tonight I'll be sitting glued to my television screen
watching to see if my numbers feature on the screen
those days of being constrained by the lack of cash
will be erased once I win a substantial stash

the odds of winning are one in a million
but I live in hope of collecting a million
one must chance one's slender luck
if one wishes to win a *** of green bucks

in a happy way
as their trilling

and the world is so beautiful because of our love
in the arms of love we'll ever be
and we'll be in a state of endless glee

our eternal joy of love

Sad Showers
sad showers
since you went away
sad showers
falling every day

the skies all shaded
in a gloomy splay
the sun's happiness
no more on display

your leaving
cut deep into my soul
much deeper
than any cavernous hole

our love over
finished and done
our love at end
my world moribund

no solace can I find
for my aching heart
now that you've
broken it apart

sad, sad showers
where are the sun's rays
sad, sad showers

Perfumes (Pleaides Poem)
pretty fragrances worn by ladies everywhere
pop a dab behind the ears and on the wrists
petals of roses crushed to make sweet scent
Priscilla my friend is a fan of English Lavender
perfume lingers in a room like a memory
pleasantly the smell of these stunning bouquets
perfect presents for a lady's Christmas box
forty two kisses were placed on a note
which had been sent to Miss Marla Mote

whence she opened the note she was most surprised
as all the kisses were terribly undersized

she crumpled the note up without haste
and threw it into the paper bin waste

so disappointed was she to find kisses so small
being sent to her by that miserly man from Frobisher Hall

he never much liked writing anything in bold print
as the ink would cost him a fortune and keep him forever skint

forty two small kisses from that miserly man at Frobisher Hall
did of Miss Marla Mote's  heart greatly appall

Rudd's electioneering hasn't sparked much interest
of his expensive policies the voters want to divest

soon we'll be turning off the Labor Party's light
we've had an adequate sufficiency of their blight
installing the Liberals in parliament will put things right
we've tired of the present governments turbulent flight

the nation's finances have quickly dwindled away
none of the Labor mob saved a penny for a rainy day
our finances are in need of some urgent attention
at least the Liberals are into monetary retention

there is a feeling that change is going to take place
which shall give the nation a fresh Prime Ministerial face
we are desirous of a policy direction which is sound
for the past five years there's been precious little of it around

to be shod of Rudd and his Labor cohorts shall be grand

we're chomping at the bit for the September seven date
then we'll send a ballot message to Abbott we want you mate

not quenched
of its thirst
fear shall grip
farming communities
bereft of rain
month after month
of scorching inure
the outlook
grim of prospect

when our tight schedules allow
the opportunity
we have the quill
out ranging
over the unfilled vellum
those many ideas which collect
inside our inspired heads
due to so few minutes
being readily available
we've still managed
an explanatory rendition
on squeezing
a line or two in
our love rapport, shall bloom on a spring day
we'll mesh as a pairing, such a splendid day

long we'll cherish, those deep feelings of love
eternal streams brimming, on that sunlit day

our hearts bonding tightly, songs sung superbly
mountains and plains cohering, beautiful the day

love's many colors, joining our gala parade
we'll entwine in happiness,  ne'er a lovelier day

sharing nectar's alchemy, ever so divine
two souls embracing, twill be a rich day

The Mystery Of Poe's Death
Whatever happened on that fateful night
We can speculate in the dimness of light
Was found the poet who went by the name of Poe
Wandering a Baltimore street of long ago

Mystery surrounds this most tragic event
No witnesses came forth with telling to vent
His mind state must of been in utter disarray
Why would he not know of the foul play

In dishevelled ragged clothes he was clad
An injustice on his person had been so sad
Elections were taking place on the date
His registered title forged another's slate

To a hospital he was sent for treatment
Though his weakened constitution never bent
The man of letters died a loner's death
His last words were of God's sure breath

Who wanted the author disposed of back then
We'll ever conjecture on the character's pen
