My Beloved
Asmita Ray Aug 27
Your cold body drifts away
      Far from the hapless shore
              Far from my wretched hope
I once held so close

Your blood still stained my hand
No matter, how fast I ran--
Your ghost haunted my dreams, my reality
And warped it into a spectral entity.

Loveless
Asmita Ray Aug 27
We played a game,
Where neither of us--tell a name
And yet, submerge in a ravine of shame.

We agreed to this perilous gamble
In a morbid hope of a beast to tame;

Which crawls beneath my skin
Set to devour everything akin--
       To happiness and love,
That was stowed away hidden
      In a secret trove.

Exiled Delusions
Asmita Ray Aug 27
Ought I not to,
Lose myself in a maze
And, become half-crazed
In the solid mist of haze
Of illusion and madness.

The Art of Poetry
Asmita Ray Aug 29
It is a surrealistic art
Painted by us with each sentiment's shard
Colours splayed on mind's canvas,
Inked by every ideological sketch.

We create beauty with words
As we continue to painstakingly etch.
Enlightening people with wisdom's shreds.

We are the Gods and Barns of this art,
This renowned art of Poetry.

An Estranged Emotion
Asmita Ray Aug 26
A shard of vintage hope
Stained with no scope
Painted for an antique emotion
Which was drowning in a deep ocean
Woefully against all of my notion

On the edge of a chasmic cliff
A forlorn shade of my soul, stands stiff--
She stares down in the fathomless abyss
Not fearing the abysmal crisis
In which, she will plunge in a gorge of vices

Flames dance and flicker towards her heart
And, breaking the iron-wrought cage apart
Alas! To only find a ghastly grim cavern
Engirdled between lungs and ribs,
Her once-alive heart--was torn to shreds
All whilst, a monster gently caressed
Towards the harrowing path of an eternal rest
I wrote this poem after a friend of mine had came out as aromantic. The speaker had once fallen in love but betrayal had hit her so hard that the feeling of love was taken away from her--with her first love.

Message of Doom
Asmita Ray Aug 26
Waves of memories drift me gently,
Over the moon
Enclosed in a cocoon.
Of a great millennium, I didn't live to witness.
Lapping against soft and dark tress
Entwined with such a great message,
Which I truly fear to thoroughly address.

Oh! Whence it embossed a vignette on my bloodied crest,
Whilst I serenely retired to my nest.
A nest of sanctum from my sacrilege--
That the demons would merrily profess.
Hence, once again I--
Enshroud myself in a chrysalis
Meander far, far away
Into the cavernous abyss

Death, You've found me
Asmita Ray Aug 26
A strange feeling cages me
Clasping my heart and draining ichor
I claw at my throat,
To only find His presence, close.
Close to my black soul, close to my twisted mind of rogue
Carved and painted an ensemble of white lie
That I don't feel guilty to deny
Therefore, I spread my wings--I plunge in
For a parlous dive with a restrained cry
Egad! My wings are rotting and,
Death hath found me
No less of a thousand sins

In Loving Memory of Love
Asmita Ray Aug 28
Do you feel my pain?
Do you feel my rage?
Each time I strongly abstain,
From pushing you away in a gilded cage.

Burning splinters of my heart, now decorate
Your loving memories with disdain.
My feelings wax and wane,
When I see you again.

A Secret Rendezvous
Asmita Ray Aug 26
Gleaming like the vista of Dusk,
I wish he was not my crux
For it may douse the glimmer of smile and trust
And cast a smothering darkness of distrust

Willow trees brush their leaves
Against a stone engraved with a secret--
Only between you and me,
A secret of an immortal tryst

Society's Puppets
Asmita Ray Aug 31
Black strings concealed in shadows
Winding our souls in its strong bonds
Shackled our boundless mind's hallows.
Swaying gleefully our sense of right and wrongs.

We dance like marionettes,
Underneath the hidden influence.
Our illusions soon confluence,
Draining a great river of effluence--
An effluence of unity and liberty.

A Grey Verdict
Asmita Ray Aug 27
I was in a trance of oblivion
To think that Sol's blessing
Was a bane and woe,
And Night was a granted gift
Bestowed upon my very soul

Enlightenment reached out to me,
Banishing the darkness
Where I drowned in ignorance--
I ought not to surmise
Virtuous or Nefarious

Soulmates
Asmita Ray Aug 28
One fine day,
I witnessed a blessing
A blessing of a feeling
Greater than love and friendship.

A union of souls
With mutual respect, they hone
Sparks of trust of devotion
Bloomed amidst their emotion
        Of love and friendship
  Sealed with their lips.

Wistful Liberty
Asmita Ray Aug 27
My eyes bleed of a thousand woes
My heart throbs, when I hear the raven's crows
About those crestfallen shadows
That prowl faintly beneath our skin
Pining to take shape of a vile thing

I beseech, if only a sacred voice
Quell these demons back
Like a ray of light piercing through a crack
Betwixt this odious curse--
Albeit to free us.

A withered leaf falls free.
Free of a century lamenting
And spent his time repenting
"Freedom from life",
He cries with glee.

Angst

Jaws of angst graze my neck
With a blessing of deep regret.

In a world where,
Only dust is left--
I breakdown in a heap of envy
As I continue to,
Lose my mind in a frenzy

Ode to Night
Asmita Ray Aug 26
Night cascaded her dark robes overhead
She enthralled me with her children--
And, I stood there
Captivated and Bewitched.

How the crescent blooms so full !?
Veiled by the solar glare--
Yet, so beautiful
Sterling sisters splay across their Mother's robe
Between the black folds, twinkling stars danced merrily
So full of joy, so full of hope

A Blue Feeling
Asmita Ray Aug 30
A blue feeling blooms in me
Blue as the sky, blue as the sea
My wings flying high and free.

Soaring over waves of gold
Erstwhile, I land on the silver shore
        To only discover that--
All glitters are not gold
And, all blue feeling
          Are not crestfallen on hope

Wilted Orchids
Asmita Ray Sep 3
Orchids droop from my once-carnal veins,
Blanched of life and grief-stricken
Dull of bright vigour and zestful youth.

The Orchid's petals fall in a mundane feeling,
Of persistent abuse and hidden wounds.

Unbound Melody
Asmita Ray Aug 29
A key unlocks my music box,
My heart unwinds with a song.
A sweet melody of ecstasy
Tuned with a withdrawn note.

I close the music box, erelong.
Melancholy hangs onto my soul--
With sheer mindset of right and wrong.

Thus, I break the key and box
Setting myself free
Forever and long.

Little Red Rose
Asmita Ray Aug 28
I am a proud rose
I adore my lovely thorns.
I have an ethereal halo,
With two little horns.
Therefore, I warn you Mortal
Do not make me cross.

Must you cut off my thorns?
Must you make me harmless?
Like a newborn.

I curse thee!
To bleed, forever and ever
Whence thou touch my thorns,
My Crown of Thorns.

Sent, in hopes of making you uplift.

Have your credence in me,
When I say this--
They are better than cheap shop-thrifts!

Free me, Love?
Asmita Ray Aug 29
You left me on a shelf
As if I am a doll, asking for help.
Locked up in a golden cage
Of despair and dread.
I lose my breath of heart ache
Deep down, I lose my head--
As it overflows with a dire bitterness
Asmita Ray Sep 4
Her thoughts are cold and numb
Her lips have stopped to hum,
A little song of love and joy.
After her heart was casted away-
In the dark vortex, like a toy.

To Mother
Asmita Ray Sep 1
Your resilience shines brighter than Sun
Your willpower and hope, blazes and burns.

In this darkness, your vision illuminates
Our lost moral compass and strayed decorum.

Excruciating pain tears through us
But your touch binds our broken sinews.

Millions of minds shattered like fragile glass
But your beautiful soul joins them back.
Strong and exquisite like diamonds.

The Lake
Asmita Ray Aug 29
I tread carefully,
          Making ripples in the lake.
I assure myself truthfully,
     "This dream is not fake".
My will carries me to my beloved.
To be free of scornful judgement,
In hopes to be treasured and loved.

Hopeful Torch of Love
Asmita Ray Sep 2
Dread slithers and coils like a snake
In the hollow of my devoid chest.
Curling and hissing venom with deep hate
Towards everything, I have ever held dear.

However dangerous and gruesome it may all seem.
There is a burning fuel of love
That makes everything crystal clear,
Chasing away each of my darkest fear.

A Poem of Hope
Asmita Ray Sep 3
Amidst the dwindling string of hope,
I strum the merry notes of heart
Sweet and pleasant, like a singing lark.
My lips weave an exquisite poem,
While enforcing ideas from the depth of my mind and soul.
Asmita Ray Sep 4

Adorning my petite feet.
Egad!
Truth to be spoken,
I confess my plea--

They were shackles
Binding my feet

Your lips graze mine with a yearning breath,
Entwining our stars with destiny's thread.

Scars embellish every inch of me.
Ornamenting each memory
                              Vexing with anguish,
I shrink from them and flee
                                                                         Wishing myself godspeed--
                                                                          My legs carry me

My Forbidden Apple
Asmita Ray Aug 31
Forbidden to touch
Forbidden to feel
You are my forbidden fruit,
I desire to feast.

I am exiled in banishment.
My heart locked up in punishment,
Yet, there is a wearing thirst
By dawn's eve, I ought to quench.

Flavours burst on my tongue
Savouring your taste and touch.
Perhaps, its just my heart's hunch--
You are the bane of my crux.
Love is dangerous.
And sweet.

The Cat on my Desk
Asmita Ray Sep 4
Silent paws tread cautiously
With a mischievous glint
And a Cheshire grin.
The cat tilts over everything,
With a satisfactory glee.

The fiendish feline knocks over things,
Very well aware of my annoyance.
She leaves no corner undamaged,
And no object unbroken in pieces.

Preaching her wonderful ideology,
Of giving me no sense of peace!

I carve with a knife on my *****
To only find a fathomless cave

Where waves of water and tongues of fire

The Hidden Dimension
Asmita Ray Sep 1
Raindrops grace the pond before me,
Distorting my reflection in the murky screen.

My eyes widen and heart clenches
At the horrible vision before me.

I see a new sphere of reality,
Gyrating silently around the Universe’s entity.

A truly living sole entity—
Of another world and dimension
Levitating around us in suspension.
Sci-fi weirdness

In a strange sensation of serenity.

Which, I simply cannot fathom.

Uncertainty of Love
Asmita Ray Sep 1
I am a moth
Who flies too close to your flames
Only to calm a feeling that ought to tame.

My heart is shot
By Cupid’s arrows aimed at me
To thaw the cold feeling freezing me.

My mind wanders
To the deepest lee of a secret grove
And, lose sanity in an enclosed trove.

Sands of Time
Asmita Ray Sep 2
Minutes and seconds soon tick by.
In a blinking flash of light,

To decipher such a velocity,
Must I pause such an entity?

Only to drink in every moment--
Which was savorously sipped away
Like a bottle of good, old wine.

I dare not meddle with such a thing so divine.
So divine,
Like each slipping grain of time.
