Tell every one of the infinity
Come with me
The time is now
Tell everyone of joyous eternity
We can be free
The time is now

Reach out and touch some one
Spreading nothing but love
Out on the sea and plain
To your enemies and friends

Where truth and acceptance meet
A miraculous feat
The time is now
The gardens growing spread your love
Tell everyone
The time is now

Only all of us and we
With you and me
Friendly flexibility
The harmony that could be

Tell every one of the infinity
Come with me
The time is now
Tell everyone of joyous eternity
We can be free
The time is now

Pass on
Select the time and contemplate the goals
My golden Goddess, my Queen
The sanctimonious moments of life
Those you live for

An intrinsic grove confiding in the glistening sun

Lovers strolling down the dirt paths **** without shame

It is natural here; joy and laughter fill the air

Our brains elevated with naivety and innocence

Ambient sounds and kind voices are all we hear

Select the hymn from the long, long ago
The moment is here
“Be free” they chant
Under the sun
In the shade of a cryptic tree

Ship out here again to the grove
Roam through the cool pastures
Join us
As we dance to the overture

Dark eyed underlings
Hissing impulsively
Madhouse notions enter the man’s cranium

We are gathered at this junction for this vigorous cross breeding
Of the immense love and the prolific lust we have for life
And extend an olive branch to those with a dim acceptance of death

Bent on devouring mortality
Floundering to pump out a miracle
On a spree of existence
Cruising behind tinted intentions
Melodies crumble sheepishly

Ah, divine originator of life
Allow us immortality
To escape our awful fates
And plan a mutiny against Charon

We beg for silk and satin intimacy

Evil wicked sorcerers of the soul are refused iconic eternal life
Gentle menders of the spirit may bask in the glorious groves of timelessness

Now, if you think I am the only writer or poet of my kind in this New Age Millennium, you are mistaken

There is me that is, Sammy Kendricks and my crew of reject ragtag writers extraordinaire who are going to change this world

First on the roster we have Haden Zanders, a poet who tackles topics from a humorous but  intelligent and eloquent way

Then there's Zach Nichols my personal shaman, he's into paganism, mysticism, alchemy and spirituality as a whole
His writing is out of this world, literally and add to it he's a musician who is single handedly innovating the neo tribal music genre

Next In Derek Neman, a poet and musican close to my heart, a bit younger than the rest of us but still hold his own
He is loving, caring and has a strong spirit that I know will take him wherever he goes
His words can make mountains weep

Then there are Kaspar and Otto
Kaspar is a poet of the romantic variety, hopelessly devoted to love
Otto is a writer who can sum up any topic in a matter of a few lines
But powerful lines they be
Short, sweet and to the point

Up next is my good friend Jeeves, Jeeves isn't his real name
His real name is Nat but that was too boring so we all call him Jeeves
He is one of the mad ones, stricken with a severe case of wanderlust and wonderment
He served in the navy for three years
Now he's back and writes of his travels and his loves and losses
He paint, plays bass and philosophizes the human condition

Of course how could I forget Pete, a clean cut good 'ol boy
Always down to meet woman and have a drink and make a night out of a day
He writes rhymes like I've never seen
So vibrant and addicting

We all have that friend we **** heads with and Sonny is that friend for me
We're opposites in every sense of the word
You all know me so imagine the reverse
But his writing is political, realistic, stoic, emotional and completely him
I love him to death, there will come a day where we throw down

Now finally last but not least
You know him
You love him
You hate him
It's the Don Juan of Dumont
The one and only
Quincy Valero
His writing reads as fast as he lives
A mile a minute
Girls, cars, drugs, food, parties
Excess and excitement
Memories and mistakes
Highs and lows
Yes

But of course we have other non writing friends
Zeik Adams my engineering friend whos gonna be rich someday
Nyal Jensen our dancing friend who always brings it to the floor in every club we hit
Ahio Rikashi our best bud from the far east, romantic and deep
Kyle Filmore my trippy drummer
And Mike Neman, Derek's younger brother and one of my closest friends

We've all shared pain and laughter
Trips, drunken evenings
Road trips, meals
Quarrels and misunderstandings
But we all care about each other
And all of our writing and our goal to always be there to check the pulse of this world
Hell, even start it up when it wains off every now and then
We're here to give this generation a kick start
A reminder of what we can and will do
We can revitalize our world with knowledge, understanding and unity
We are the pulse generation

Shes's got her work cut out for her
She sells patio furniture with a hairline fracture
And puts the pain aside
She eats pulled pork sandwiches for lunch
But stays neat as a pin

It can get repetitious for her
So some nights after her shift she gets down at a bar in town
Amidst the drifters and prodigal sons
And tickles the ivory's
The whole bar gets to a stand still
When shes tells them all to get with it

But then without mention she stopped showing up to work
And no one at the bar hadn't seen her in a long time
She left for North Carolina
She left went to search for a new life
As the people she left behind simultaneously searched for her

Look in the mirror
Look at the clock
Look at the time
It never has stopped
It only goes forward
It's a one way walk
See how you have been growing
You ask yourself, "where have the days been going?"
Time can only progress
Yes, the river of life is always flowing

We lived cabins
And castles and caves
We came from Adam and eve
We evolved from apes
From Socrates and Homer
To Napoleon and Alexander the Great
The minds that desired knowing
And the enlightened ones glowing
People can only advance
Yes the river of life is always flowing

Revolutions and rebellions
Riots and revolts
Great discoveries
A key, a kite and a lightning bolt
Great writings and inventions
Innovations from inspiring jolts
Improvement was showing
To the future the world was going
Humanity only began to develop
Yes the river of life is always flowing

Religions and sciences
Economics and politics
Television and radio
Monarchies and dictatorships
Tanks and machine guns
Atomic bombs and battle ships
We went from arrow shooting and spear throwing
The muskets needed reloading
To nuclear weapons
Yes the river of life is always flowing

Exploring new lands
To find the world wasn't flat
To find silver and gold
And buried artifacts
To establish new territories
And expand the map
The searching ship kept rowing
As civilization went on growing
Accomplishments of the past
Yes the river of life is always flowing

Boats and rail roads
Fair trade and industry
World wide markets
Over land and sea
To keep out nations going
And stablize the economy
But now every country has money that they're owing
And the land that they're owning
Is has evolved
Yes the river of life is always flowing

Social reforms
Counter cultures fight
They protest strongly
For equal civil rights
The world's in constant change
Every day turns into night
Every opening has its closing
And then it comes back again
As long as there's someone hoping
Yes the river of life is always flowing

We put people into space
We have fought for equality
Created a world from nothing
And advanced technology
We've struggle to go to where we are
And continue to go strongly
The opportunities fate has been bestowing
We look forward to see what is ahead
The memories and mysteries the hourglass is holding
Yes the river of life is always flowing

There’s a boarding  house off the main road

Right by the park

It’s called The Roach Motel
And that’s where we had quite a number of our infamous get togethers

When it was occupied with Latin dance music and the stomping of feet, it was like a pulsating tumor on that side of town

The Roach Motel
Because you could drink till you blacked out and then spend the night on the floor as a guest with various multiple legged pests

Silverfish on the walls
***** dishes stacked well in the sink
Day old Chinese food in the table
And of course roaches weaving in and out of the crevices of the kitchen

Yet people always came back knowing of such dishevelment

Maybe it was the fully stocked refrigerator of at least four different kinds of ice cold beer

Or the vast array of liquors that were always present
Gin
Whiskey
***
Whiskey
Tequila
And the sodas and juices to mix them with or use as chasers

It may very well be the delicious, calming tobacco that was stuffed into the alluring green hookah with two hoses
One red
One blue

I believe it’s simply the vibe of it all

When you’re at The Roach Motel you feel free, you feel like all your worries are gone
And there’s always a drink in your hand and you’re always among friends even in strange company

Whatever it was we always found ourselves going back

The Roach Motel was owned by Venezuelan mother of six children who allowed these festivities to commence

And when word got out that there would be a party soon to come everyone spread that word all over like a pat of Land O’ Lakes on a warm English muffin

Kids from Bergenfeild
From Dumont
From New Milford, Palisades and Garfield

Drinking the night away with bugs and good friends

The mangy scruffy rat looking dog running around the whole party avoiding being stepped on
Unidentifiable arthropods crawling out the sink

Laughing uncontrollably
Conversing incoherently
Then passing out and waking up with a horrible hangover

I remember the time four of our friend puked their guts out there

One in the toilet
One in the bath tub
On in the bedroom
And one on the living room floor…there was corn in it

Two hours of comforting and clean up

I remember our 420 party
Where the legendary Quincy Valero ate his very first bud brownie and went on a trip he still to this day cannot replicate

I recall setting off fireworks off in the back of The Roach Motel and in my drunken buffoonery knocking over a lit mortar and nearly blasting the neighbor’s fence down but it was averted thanks to Quincy’s rare swiftness

This place is a backdrop of so many hook ups, so many good times and of course insect infestation

Although a great party pad it was filthy and you would feel itchy whenever you thought about how gross it was
I would never sit on a couch or on a bed
I had the fear of picking up bed begs and bringing them home

But despite that The Roach Motel was our own little slice of Dionysian Utopian freedom

It mirror all our rundown rugged ***** souls that just needed a place to unwind and fall apart and float down the bourbon river and just lose it

With a joint or an electric cigarette being passed around
And electronic music being blasted
It was always another night full of future stories to tell

Praise is near
I can see it out of the corner of my eye
It comes with a new dawn
Nothing is built to last
Empires fall and civilizations crumble
All I can do is wash my hands and hope this fight can be won
Through all the sacrifice
It's been a long time coming
The odds are stacked out of favor
But I will push, fearless and uncompromised

This is what all of the writings in the bathroom stalls were philosophizing
It's endured the pain that every soul out there has known
You can feel it as your heart pounds
It lives in the things we can't let go of that we use to fuel our fury
It sleeps in our memories and cringe worthy heartbreaks
You live and learn

From the beginning of time with human kind in the womb
To the end of all being whispering its final words
It guides the ones who refuse to follow the predetermined paths
The ones who never had a chance
It's in all of us, believe it to keep it alive

Never give up in the face of doubt or ignorance
You've made it this far, you've become stronger
Revisit the time when you were knocked down
Forgive all the letdowns and never forget your promise to yourself
That you'll establish your name with every ounce of strength

Strike up the flame that kills every shadow
That glows with unconditional love
That one that creates the passion for life
Tommy Johnson Dec 2013
I can feel the blistering heat on the back of my neck
I look at the ground and contemplate letting go of my tears
Instead I walk away
The clouds float over head
Calling my name
“Where are you going?”
The sun turns red and the night comes
Traveling to the cavern, the caves
Watch your step
Ancient mysteries linger here
As do snakes and lizards
Let go of everyone and everything they will be fine
But do hold them dear
The medicine man looks me deep in the eye
I know what is coming and so does he
A period of darkness and insanity
Insanity is the outcome of being blind and not knowing where to go
All security and assurance dissipated
All homes and relationships dilapidated
And I, alone in a dark cave in the desert before this huge wave of pain crashes on to our shore
What am I to do?
Tommy Johnson Feb 2014
Chewing away at the minutes
Swallowing the seconds
And spitting out the hours
To make up a day at a time

Thank you
I’ve been waiting to unveil my surprise

Wrapped in lace and ribbon
Forgotten not forgiven

A shard of glass
From the window
You once fell
Happy birthday

For on the day you hit your head
Not a word was ever said
That you were dead
So happy birthday

I shall lay it here
No one had ever known
Only I
Only me

Happy birthday

The temptress zigzags into the barracks
And makes off with the subservient uniform wearing rifleman's milk money
To buy a swimsuit for her ephemeral summer body
That will sag to the floor by the first few days of autumn

She hacks the submarine's sonar system
And lets the current take her to a cedar river bend
Where she sniffles while polishing her handgun
Reserved for all those who lag behind in the arid region
To release them from their contractual servitude

Causing a ripple effect
Of inconclusive prospects
Etcetera , etcetera

It's 11:11 make a wish
Look out the spotty window
See all the frowns
And boring towns
See how powerful the words we use are
They can cut deep
Deeper than the most violent assault
Buildings and obelisks of befuddlement
Pressed for time
Lemon scented tiles
Scrubbed
No mold
Personal preference
Common courtesy
And common sense
Scarce but invaluable
A face only a mother could love
And a father can lie to
Coulda
Woulda
Shoulda
Didn't
Searching for carrion
Give way
To the wayside
ECNALUBMA
In the rear view
The worms eat us
The early birds catch the worms
The cat nabs the worm
After being resurrected by satisfaction
And the night owl writes the tell-all
Put the ear to glass
Put the glass to the door
And listen closely
To sound of knuckles cracking
And the chattering of coffee shop patrons
Indian givers going back on their word
Fingerless gloves
Prim and proper
Promptly pummeling
Tunneling to tomorrow
Well done
Slim to none
Fat chance
The local native's tongue
Sold fresh and farm raised
On any given day
You can find demi-gods
Playing a a pick up game
Matchbook
Matchbox
Mismatch socks
Pick up sticks and stretchmarks
Just stay the night
So we can wish this all away together
It's 11:12 open your eyes

Drop in
Just in case you missed it
Lost marbles and missing puzzle pieces
If what? But, What if?

This is my only recourse
A resource of thick accents
And made up minds
That think it's all water under the bridge

The thumping of her heart subsides
Disposable income comes naturally now
She impersonates impostors with crooked teeth and bad posture
But that's just the prelude

She foresees it all
How does it look?
"Sour grapes and low hanging fruit"
"Permanence is a myth"

Case closed
"Belly button lint and earwax"
"Pay your dues"
Outcries about fiscal responsibility

"Fill in the blanks with what you want to hear"
Fraudulent pyramid scams
Pinsetters falling for ponzi schemes
That leave them with a bad tastes in their mouths

"Lets head up to Golgotha
And rip the nails from the Penitent thief's hands
Then stick them in the Impenitent thief's eyes
Just a new number to add to our repertoire"
Tommy Johnson Jun 2014
Check the yellow pages
And the funny papers
We gotta find those contact lenses that will change our brown eyes blue
Then promenade to the place

Whatchya got on tap?
Lemonade?
Give me the recipe

That's a odd catch phrase you got there, "I'll **** you with a railroad spike!"

Tell me how the worldwide aficionado only got the bronze metal

She cries at the drop of a hat
Now they've revoked her drivers licence

He's eating flower petals, that man in the corner over there
He's in for a rude awakening
That's poison oak or is it poison ivy?
Either way that's his lot in life

The man from the nuclear power plant comes in and tells m to get welded as he slaps some roadkill on the counter with great hubris

He told the cook to fry it up so no one here would have to eat processed, pasteurized, homogenized, hydrogenated genetically modified food with an appeasing garnish on top

Mmm tire marks
Tastes like this thing has been through the marsh
Some kind of wetland

Before I leave someone yells from the back, "You want the weather? Look up an hope for the best!"

Let it be known that every forfeiture will be accounted against those who misused the opportunities of day light

At the time when it was all clear and at ease

On winter’s day within the valley
Three geriatric women wandered
The first spoke of comprehension
The second spoke of symphonic action
And the third spoke of empathy

I listened attentively
The travel channel on a network of curiosity
Fast paced, translucent and strong
Foreign gestures
A warm compassionate meeting of hands
And the comforting message it preaches

Exploring caverns on an ominous day

Beyond the limits we have no sky or plane

Right here we are
Edified perfectly

You need to climb to the highest height
Or stay up till the end of night
Or fight an endless fight

Come on out and greet the dead
Come see where their choices lead
Their finals words left unsaid
The cannibals, the ******

It wont't last forever
It’s now or never
Nothing's forever
Get it together

Now they're all out of sight
They fought with all their might
In that endless, endless fight

Come on out and greet the dead
Come see where their choices lead
Shot on sight bleeding red

It lasts forever
It’s now or never
Nothing's for ever
Get it together

"Take a throne, we're all royalty here"
Said the Master of Ceremonies to The Peeping Tom, The Spokesperson, The Wretch and The One Man Band

He pulled out the syllabus
It said that each of his colleges must fulfill a duty if they wanted membership into this social club
The One Man Band had to seek out a impudent amputee, a touchy nomad and give them brochures to a day spa
The Spokesperson was asked to to find his inner child, his feminine side and his sensitive side while making good conversation with Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and ask him why he holds a grudge against Bosnia

The Wretch was given the task to sell Avon products to those who looked like death warmed over and sway their urges to burn their candles at both ends
Lastly, the Peeping Tom was told to teach the languid, rough and tumble lipid worshiping people the number line then pass out pamphlets on healthy living

After reviewing their work and the rubric, the Master of Ceremonies congratulated them, they were in

"You will all now be a part of history, figures on this brotherhood's timeline; you fit the bill!"
They all got up as the Wretch footed the bill and went on to go wassailing

A line has been drawn
And you have nothing to say about the height chart in the door frame
***** smocks
The ebbing and flowing of passengers in the middle seat
Who do nothing but leave coffee rings everywhere they've been
And say, "my left shoes has a sturdier soul than I do!"
Then forget to close the toaster oven
Rusted lamp posts and artificial flavoring
The Kettle telling The ***, "don't do me no favors"
I see clear coasts and those who've missed their boats
They should have taken their piece of cake
Now, this is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you
Getting back to business and usual
Better make that eyelash wish count
It's a free for all
It's sibling rivalry
For all the brown-nosers
Who live up to their reputations of raised leg urination
Give me a pull start
And then demote me to cabin boy

Home
Home is where you make it
Home
Home is where you take it
And where you place it

Place it in people
Those who share love

Place it in nature
Toss it into the sky above

A house and home are separate
A house is just a place, where you can make it

My home is in you
And you and you

Your home is with me
Where there is peace

From a house made of glass
To that little patch of grass
Everything in between is where I reside

I’m so humble, I’m enthralled
Just to live in this world

So many places to be
So many things to be
I want to make them all my home

Making memories
Building bridges
In every end
There’s a new beginning

Look at this
Look at that
Present, future, past
There’s nothing to regret

I am me
She is her
He is him
And that’s just the thing

We are home
Wherever we all go
Home is where you make it
Home is where you take it
And where you place it

Whether on your own
When you’re all alone
If you look hard enough
You’ll find your home
Just bring a piece of it everywhere you go
And you are home
Tommy Johnson Dec 2013
Bitter sweet cool heat, joyess pain
While the world turns everything will change
Nothing will ever be the same again
The memories of yesterday I will befriend
I’ll just take it day by day
But then I wonder if I have a say
Or is it another passing thought
I’m just waiting for the world to stop
But I still have my friends the ones I love
Faith and hope are still enough
To get my through the day
I think I’ve done it, I’ve found my way

Time is measured by grains of sand
Expanding sea exploring land
Drifting on with women and man
To sympathize and understand

The shape of your life is your hands to mold
Treasure isn’t always silver and gold
Now compare pre and post
To commemorate this outcome I purpose a toast
I pray for the summer breeze
For without the summer air I cannot breathe

That’s thing about quitters, they’ll take the blame
But are quitting and giving up the same?
This time X won’t mark the spot
Instead it’s the lessons and people we’ve forgot
I always feel there’s more I should know
Implode satisfied, information over load

The birds fly themselves high in the sky
As I observe the world spinning by
I am thankful for everyday
There’s no doubt this life is great
Love and peace to all women and men
But most importantly attempt to comprehend

For unity and trust is what life is about
This and much more I understand now
This and much more I can understand now
This and much, much more

Unbeknownst to him
Knowing me is a sin
And I already have my grip

He doesn’t know the cost
He doesn’t own a cross
And hasn’t learned his sacraments

To his family this is tragic
His soul belongs to me
My unholy black magic
He is mine forever more
He is mine forever more

Signed, a loophole-less deal
A contract written in blood
Our fiendish accord
A binding agreement
The demonic covenant
An exchange of a worthless desire for an invaluable spirit

No angelic lawyer can save him
He is ****** for eternity
Put up a for sale sign on a whim
He is mine forever more
He is mine forever more

Scheduled to be defiled
Tortured endlessly
And be thrown into a lake a fire
He is mine forever more
He is mine forever more

He is mine forever more

Counting down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Hear the snakes rattle
Hear the cymbals crash
Hear the angles sing
See the ocean roar

The road moves under my tired tired feet
Street lights pass over head at an alarming speed
My heart racing my hand steady on the wheel
My eyes focused yet widened
Her thin face
Brown complexion
The street lights shine on her face
Her gray wool knit cap

I can hear the machines
I can hear the speaking just over the river
A beam of purple light lights up the sky

They've found it

The earth goes black

My head is in excruciating pain
Blood on the wheel the wind blowing hard
The girl is gone, I'm alone with my wrecked car
Where am I?
Where is she?
What happened?
What's gonna happen?
I need to keep moving, the girl is of no concern
She was just a stranger I need to carry on

Says he loves her but had *** with an other
Calls him a ******* and calls her a *****
Even though she did the same thing three nights before

I’m sorry, so sorry to have to tell you the news
I told the truth and now it's all over
Which is weird cause I'm always telling stories
Lies make your mascara run and your vision blurry

I'm lying, I'm lying, I'm telling the truth
You hurt me so bad
Threw me away oh what could I do?
You got so mad when I found someone else
But it's okay if there's a guy that’s not me on top of you

I'm sick of living this falsehood
This lying this cheating ain't doing me any good
But I'm not like you at least I'm not selfish
I mess something up you know I'll fix it

Who the hell am I kidding?
I'm really no better than you
Cheated and never told you, another woman or two
Seems I chose a bad time to be honest
I'm sorry calm down can we please move on from this

I'm lying, I'm lying, I'm telling the truth
You hurt me so bad
Threw me away oh what could I do?
You got so mad when I found someone else
But it's okay if there's a guy that’s not me on top of you

I'm lying, I'm lying, I'm telling the truth

Father demolished in a collision
Dark feelings brew in the young man’s soft murmuring heart
Pain in the eyes of his victims
Fear in the spine of his weakened targets
Hate in the frozen debt of winter
Angry and tortured night and day

Suffering screams, he mutilates them
Violence brought to a family on vacation
Chaos caused by confusion
Arrogant resentful greed

Father why?

“The feast is about to begin!”
The Grandfather declared
“All those standing take a seat”
“For we are all brothers and sisters”

The table went on for six miles
The growls of empty stomachs and the clinking, clanking of fine china are all the noise that is heard
All eyes are on the Grandfather

“Tonight we prepare for a holy banquet”
“The limbs and organs of our enemies vanquished”
“And jugs of their blood leftover”
“Bowls of soup made from scraps of fallen soldiers”
“In honor of their formidable fight”
“I raise a glass and hold it high”

A golden goblet of blood in his wrinkled hand

“All is well my children dear”
“My women and men”
“Our foes are beaten”
“Their carcasses are not wasted”
“They are scheduled to be eaten”
“May our appetites yield to toil”
“To the victors go the spoils!”

Bring the basket down
Keep them in line
Your pedestal
Is not higher than mine

No we don’t see eye to eye
No we don’t always agree
I don’t have to like
The way you treat me

I sympathize with your aches and pains
And I respect you very much
But you look down on me
As a so and so doing such and such

Reel me in and cast me out
You’re always
Reeling me in then casting me out

Hoping to catch a fish
Hoping to make your wish come true
I’m sorry but that’s one thing I cannot will not ever do

I move with feeling
You go on bitter thoughts
Keep it going
After the wars already been fought

You say you don’t need anyone
And I feel sorry you feel that way
While you hope to soon die
I hope to see another day

I’m not you and you’re not me
Take away everything
Hold it over my head
Then it doesn’t mean anything to me

Pull me up, throw me down
You always
Pull me up then throw me down

It really does seem
I am the rope to raise up your dreams, it’s true
I’m sorry but that’s something I wouldn’t do

You call me names
And take away
But then call back
The vicious attack

You think I’m on your leach
I see the beast
In your soul
I say no more

I’m not perfect
I am human
I will protect
The morals that I stand by

I’ll keep my mouth closed
And my tongue sharp
My mind mellow
And my spirit soft

I’ll humor you for the time being
Until I can leave
Or until I win
And you concede

Promised you I'd loved you every day and night
And thinking that it would make everything alright
And yes it seems we loved too hard and lost the fun
Guess that happens when you are so young

Now she's leaving
Now I'm leaving
We’ll always remember

How much we cared for each other in our youth
But now it's time for us to move
And it's true
We both gotta go on and explore the world
And rest assured I'll
Never forget that girl

And yes, she was my very first love
And she made me believe there was a god above
And if there were issues you know we’d resolve them
But there was only one problem

We were so inexperienced
Two years until we realized we couldn’t handle it
Acted like we were married we were kids
And we both lacked common sense

Now she's leaving
Now I'm leaving
We’ll always remember

How much we cared for each other in our youth
But now it's time for us to move
And it's true
We both gotta go on and explore the world
And rest assured I'll
Never forget that girl

And I'll will never forget you
I’ll never forget you
Now were moving on
Now were moving on
Now were moving on
Love is never gone

And how we cared for each other in our youth
But now it's time for me and you
You know
How much we cared for each other  in our youth
But now it's time for me and you
And you know its true
We both gotta explore the world
And I gotta explore the world
And you wanna explore the world
And rest assured I'll
Oh rest assured ill
Never forget you girl

Pawn to E-4
Just jumped my way to some money
A favor, a ride and some of my time
I'm not sure if I’ll survive

On the way to Newark to make a pick up
What are we getting?
Don’t worry about it
Just be cool

We have to go to the pines first
Pick up a friend
Out patient
Addicted to *******

The truth comes out
And what a smack in the face
We’re getting ******
And it's going in my trunk

The two start doing lines in the back seat
As I get on to the highway
My palms sweat and thoughts go 70 miles per hours as the car goes 50
How did I get here?

I’m an escort
Escorting them to buy powdered death
To spread to the junkies and the ******
And I’m as guilty as they are

We get to a burger place
And I run to the bathroom stall
And I make a call to my friend
I tell him what's going on

I rant and rave
And plan an escape
But there's no way  out
And I'm stuck here now, ride it out

We get to the destination
We walked through the doors
Three guys pulled out their guns
And patted us down

They're clean
We were clean
I felt anything but
Covered in guilt and doused in paranoia

The money is traded for the smack
We all walk away happy and less tense
All but me, I leave with anxiety and a deep fear
So much fear

Fear of getting shot
Fear of getting caught
Fear of killing someone
Fear of myself

I let myself get here because I wanted an adventure
I continued even after I found out where we were going and why
I even took part in buying it with them
And now were off to Ridgewood
Who am I?

Come and get it
The eager hopeless junkies flock
In half an hour it’s all gone
I held the money
It was so heavy

The weight of the guilt and shame dragged me down
Down to a place I'd never been before
Where I know how disgusting I am
The thought of myself was enough to make me *****
The two guys I was with couldn’t be happier
They made their money for the day
The two of them made me apprehensive
So uneasy and unfamiliar

The one kid had sold me the key a few weeks back
And now hes asked of me the task I had completed
He had just tried this stuff yesterday
And plans to do it again, hes gone

His friend, had more experience
Heroine, coke, uppers and downers
Addicted, enslaved to substance
His manic mental state didn’t help matters either

By then my trunk was empty
And my heart was full of guilt
My mind was full of whys
But my pocket had 50 bucks in it

And now we all ride back to school
I cut class for this adventure
I went to the farthest place from my comfort zone
And now I know my limits

Never again
Never again
I'm sorry, never again

The living legend is ****** into a rut of pining for his splendid playwright
She was his everything
A new breed of woman
No societal entourage could compare
No jovial jubilee could top her
Her humongous measure of perplexity
Her grace
Her charm
Her mystery

He now despises himself for this moment of nostalgic weeping
The mucus makes it hard for him to breathe with his deviated septum
He looks for something to alleviate his sniffling
And eviscerate all his emotional anguish
Nasal spray and bourbon
He can breathe but the alcohol only exacerbates the visceral issue
And dampens his already flaccid spirit

Clouted with the disheartening reminder that it wasn't all her fault
He fumbles with the bottle while retracing the event in his mind

"It was the golden age of bronze metals"
"She was asked to do as she was told"
"A white lie"
"A foul up"
"An accusation"
"An accessory to ******"
"Madcap ad libbed alibis and recounts verbatim"
"She turned on them, they killed her"

The bourbon was gone, his nose was stuffed again
Wheezing, gagging, crying

What's the word for when a living legend wants to die?
Tommy Johnson Mar 2015
All people will die
Some are never alive
Never lived freely or thought on their own
Always put down with out a sound
Victimized all year around

When you live
The callous have nothing to give
When you breathe
They tell you how you should be
When you live
Take and give
I insist

All people will die
Some are never alive
Some are permitted and others denied
Most are just laughed at and I know that
It’s a cycle going round and round

When you live
The callous have nothing to give
When you breathe
They tell you how you should be
When you live
Take and give
I insist

When you live
The callous have nothing to give
When you breathe
They tell you how you should be
When you live
Take and give
I insist

A sob story
About empty toilet paper rolls
And toilet seats being left up

Living nine lives
In a dog eat dog world
Fighting hunger tooth to nail

You look ravishing
I am famished and undeserving

Turning your home into a ***** house
Your conscience has signed off
It bailed

Cool kids and wild cards
Getting off Scott free

Life ends
When the parents come home

Let down the draw bridge
Cast your lots
Draw straws
Pick an alias
Then go off topic with the sleepwalkers  you had a falling out with

See the check and balances that pale in comparison to The Mighty Hill of Beans

The people in the two square mile town must have something going for them
They can all recite and summarize their code of conduct

"We must exercises proper window seat etiquette, understand that names make it harder to slaughter, use our home field advantages when given and turn phrases where needed."

They all either have over bites or under bites
But all have clubbed feet and hold a roll of film under their arms
The film shows how their predecessors leveled the playing field
As their enemies stood stammering as their armies we're vanquished under The Mighty Hill of Beans

Mayor Moniker went on yammering, buying his own *******
As all the people who puberty hit like train give him a standing ovation on their once battered battle field  under The Mighty Hill of Beans

I guess it's something in the water there
Tommy Johnson Feb 2014
I forgot my sunglasses
I left them on the window pane
Left them far behind
I’ll never see them again

Now the sun will surely blind me
It’ll take away my sight
In day light I can’t see
Visions only good at night

I forgot my dignity
I lost it a long time ago
Please don’t pity me
Not at my all time low

Detonation
Levitation
Annihilation

I want to let go
Hold on, hold on to me
I want you all to know
What’s wrong
What’s wrong with me

He wonders how he does it
Ah ha oh no
I'm the spark inside
Every parasite
Hypocritical
And impractical
Fall into pits

Let 'em hear ya in the cheap seats
In the nosebleeds

Trashed and thrashed
The stove heats up the whole house

The beauty pageant is being judged by those who have been bribed and the biased

There's no room at the inn
To the barn, I guess

Ring in the morning
As today's hectic schedule chimes in

The chimney sweep preforms rhinoplasty on a bobcat
And sends windup toys to Goodwill

I christen thee, Backwards!
Here, take this seven leaf clover for good luck
Tommy Johnson Oct 2015
Betrayal on both accounts
We are pent up aggression  with no where to go
Look at what we've done not what we haven't
It was all a shot in the dark
Acceptance and a fresh start was the mark
We are all in remission
Have no idea if we got it in us

I can't make out the message
To you truths are nothing but your lies are so precious
But it's our credibility being questioned
Put on an act for moments at a time
Clenched fists and gritted teeth
Tired eyes look at them then in the mirror and fill with tears

Wish my therapist and I were attached at the hip because I can't go it alone
Is this all my own doing or is it done onto me?
My chest is collapsing from my icy shattered heart
I'm in way too deep
We're solving a mystery but haven't a clue
And have no idea what we're made of

As I ponder what to write
I think of the only constant in my life
What’s kept me going and guessing
I speak of love

From the age of three I had the feeling
By the age of five a girl was stealing
My heart it was a little crush
It was still love

It was up in the air
The feelings weren’t returned
Fell in despair
My naïve heart was burned

At age eleven puberty had hit hard
There was a new girl a new start
She had a tight grip on my heart
What was lust I thought was love

High school came and changed my world
And that’s cause there were three girls
But the pain makes my toes curl
Another complicated tale of love
Its up in the air
My first real love
Two years toiled in pain
I didn’t care
I had gone insane

So naïve
So unsure
And now I grieve
But I want more

Soon after I started fresh
Now this one was the best
But I had doubts so I left
I walked out on love

You see it was too good to be true
I was ****** and worried and confused
I wanted her back but she refused
I don’t think I deserve love

Up in the air
She’ll never come back
I don’t care
It fades to black

Maybe I should be alone

Or go after lust

Answers never shown

And this feeling I don’t trust
It's up in the air

It is impossible to write an honest love poem
I'm sorry not every ****** noise I make sounds like a sumptuous sonata

The cork squeaks between my teeth as I go to take a drink
Lustful delusions come to me
Forbidden odd pleasure

And  I remember the seafaring man
Busting through the barriers to his one
Coming back home
With the scorching scorn towards the malicious storm
As he displays his immortality
And downplays the danger
Onward
Homeward
Forward
You coward

I once knew a girl, a very stranger girl so opulent
Who said she'd do anything if I showered her in compliments
She told me to bow, and that now she was my queen
She said the key was to talk sweetly, say things I didn't mean
I lied in the bed, enjoying the moment, no words were spoken
A few hours of that then she said, "take me home"
She said she'd see me again if fate allowed
She told me to tell her she was pretty, I laughed out loud
Now, she has a man, her number one fan on demand
Empty, meaningless words just for her and her lack of confidence

Get on the ball
Rustle up some food
Celery seed
Just make it up on the spot
Circle "none of the above"
Avoid all the **** blocks
The **** swats
And anyone who can read and write in reverse
Visit the maddened mistress
She's at the farm in the barn
She's on birth control so it's okay
She wants the same thing you do
Instant gratification
She has a surplus of lust and seduction

Summers almost here.
Summers drawing near.
Skies clear.
Yes it’s nearly here.
We must prepare for when,
Summers here.

Sunrise, wake them kindly.
Mid day, come this way.
Sunset they walked on the uneven streets.
When shall we see?
Where shall I be?
Nature’s greed.

Sunrise, wake them kindly.
Mid day, show the way.
Sunset they walked on the uneven streets.
Summers here.
And now we see…

Summers finally here.
Summers finally here.
And the sun can shine.
The golden sun.
Skies are clear.
Summers finally here!

Way past the months and lunar cycles and bodies of land
I ask you if the curtain needs to be drawn
The sun staring you in eye
It's too much for you to bear
And the occasional saddening feeling begins to settle inside you
The morning is here
It is wide awake
Open your eyes
As the dawn breaks
And your mind wanders and slides on your senses and patterns of thought
Tommy Johnson Dec 2013
I can’t defend my actions
Unexplainable bursts of deviant behavior
I begin to believe in my own farfetched deceit
And convince myself it’s the truth
I long to retract the word
Pushing a wedge between you and I
So why am I putting this off?
You heavy misdeed did not outweigh mine
So what am I yelling for?
I fooled myself in thinking that karma would never find me in a secluded cave on the other side of the world
May all my sins be absolved
And my remorse be washed away
As yours fade likewise
And we repent our falsehoods to each other
I a, a genuine charlatan
And I can own up to that
I apologize
Now I leave
We’ll look back at this
As the time we came clean

The Mecca is the trifecta of the vertex of the epicenter of the apex
But we just use that as a reference point
We refused to be swayed by centripetal force
And peeled back the layers of the mind to find the inertia that had given us the centrifugal force to push us in our quest to find the ultimate reality

I saw a vandal giving in to voyeurism
When a watershed moment happened

He had a sudden premonition
There were nervous virgins about to take the plunge
There were people giving hi 5's to each other and making pinky promises they swore to keep
There were poor soul's trying to quit cold turkey
Eating molten ****** cakes

I looked to the East and visions came to me as well
I saw kids having fever dreams of pitching fits and fever pitches
I saw liberated lesbian librarians eating their feelings and playing
"**** one, **** one, marry one"
I saw the extinction of guilty pleasures
I saw a man being caught up in getting up to speed with
I trifling teenagers
Low on money but high off drugs
I saw myself checking in to check up on the check out line to pick out and pick up a new catcher's mitt
I caught a case
A call
And a cold

I saw the love of my life running towards me on a soft white beach
As she came closer I could see her beginning to decay
Her skin melted
Her organs and blood fell from her
Her eyes and teeth dropped out of her head
Her hair fell out
And her skeleton came into my arms and I heard a whisper
"I will always be with you, my uncrowned king"
Tommy Johnson Jun 2014
Go from who you are to who you want to be
Nothing is stopping you except for yourself

I see the workers in the back spitting in our food
Greaseballs
Brands are better than tattoos
Get over yourself

Sauced at sunrise
Waking up next to her brings a smile to my face, I feel the breeze
My heart picks up the pace when shes with me

Self-pity
Regret
Doubt
And unnecessary grief are incredibly unbecoming
Avoid the truck in your life

It's hard to be happy when nothing is good enough for you
Laugh at your life
It's just a series of never ending twist endings and what-the-**** moments
"Oh, the cleverness of me!"

I'm feeling saucy
There's no point, never will be
But why am I here?

He had laid his wide yet weary eyes upon her in the great halls
Her hair shinning in the light, eye dark and shimmering eyes
And a smile that could stop a legion of chariots, made his come to a sudden halt
Ah yes, she was beautiful, extremely
But at the time his heart was in someone else’s possession
A girl from the land of plenty, and to him she was everything, to her he was just an ornament
Selfish, tyrannical and controlling
He put everything  forward, she pushed it along with him away
in a drunken lustful stupor she cast aside two years of life and love that they had shared
Angry, saddened, hurt the boy limped into the nearest cave to mend his wounds
There he found another girl, this time two year younger than he
She was bright, confident, and kind to him
He hadn't forgotten  the girl he once loved, he wasn't ready to leave forever
Forsaking, the memories and the ties that held them together when she has altogether retired
He tried to focus on the young girl for she, like him put everything she could forward, as did he, for her knew it would be most dishonorable not to try
But his pain and anguish limited what he could bring forth
He tried and tried until his heart stopped sobbing and healing began
Many months passed, he and the girl grew close, she was good to him and him to her
But to him it felt forced, he felt he needed to be with her for the kindness and understanding she put upon him
He was grateful  and truly did care about her
But it did not feel right, it would be wrong to stay with her without an honest burning passion for her
So he left, as politely and nicely as he could
Leaving no mess or unanswered questions
No guilt or remorse
He then recalled the girl he had seen in the great hall
The girl he had often thought of in his journeys
From the mountains of the bear to the gates of Clifton
That girl was still in his mind, flashing thought of her from time to time
In that time he began talking to her to see what would happen, he did not know what would come of this
In the back of his mind he knew what burden he bared
The burden of lust, to flirt with various women and men
Diving into passionless ravenous sessions of *** and lies
Always leaving physically satisfied but mentally petrified
Scared of what will happen next, another kiss, another meaningless gathering of  two lost souls
He liked it, flocks of women, packs of men all for his taking, life of wine
Oh the finest **** to smoke, the finest ales on tap, bottles on deck, all for him
Freedom, gluttony, self destruction, he did all because he could
He belonged to no one, none but his vices
Why did he lust?
For his life up to that point he was undesirable, strange, sloppy, singled out
Never wanted by anyone, always alone always walking the roads wishing someone, anyone to be at his side, then the girl from the land of plenty took him and showed him her ways
He became like her, subconsciously, selfish, uncaring, unfeeling
He believed in love when he was with her, but at the same time gave into his temptations
And hurt, lied and cheated
And he did it to her and the young girl
Even after promising not to
The burden of no self control, the burden of temptation, the burden of guilt free lies
No more, it was time for the boy to be a man
He was reaching his 20th year, it was time
The girl from the great hall and he began to weave a tapestry of truth and love

Oh dear got what have we unleashed ?
Think we just started a **** storm

People screaming, people fighting
People running,  people bleeding

Police are coming, now we’re running
Arresting, giving out beatings

Accidental uprising

Now there's people looting this place
Widespread panic all because of us

What started as a yelling match
Turned into a teenage revolt

Cops busting heads, kids fighting back
This place is up in flames, our fault

Accidental uprising

Blood shed
No reason
Disturbance
Unneeded
A demonstration
With no cause
Wasn't us
Get to the car

Accidental uprising

We went to the park to sit on the orange bench and devour ripe peaches
And sweet olives
We saw the man who would always be out on his deck admiring his own yard work
And the kid with the bulbous head who sat on his stoop and stared at passersby with a deep-rooted curiosity
The sky became pink
As a girl with a septum ring walked passed us
Is that sanitary?
Then we saw the mother of the boy who was just put in the sanitarium
And wife of the man who works in the bio dome planetarium
As we're leaving we stepped on a manhole cover that read "CoMmUnIcAtIoN "
And unbeknownst to our backs and behinds were now colored orange
People began to ogle us, whisper to their friend and laugh

Deadlines
Bleachers ripped out and put in the dessert so the audience can bleach their bones in the unforgiving sun in Mother Nature's desert

"Not too shabby
If I say so myself
It could make headlines
Sudden death
A stick up man verses a Gestapo
Lightning round

One suffers from Salmonella
The other is addicted to drinking Molotov cocktails for the hell of it
Throw them in the snake pit
We can hear gun shots
And the sound of someone being scalped

Get you souvenir **** plugs here!

These two *** wipes are in the because we had probable cause
One tried ransacking the whole place
And the other came out of the woodwork and threatened the room service boy with cellophane and gasoline

We've taken the proper precautions of course
We have nurses who, after each round will kiss their wounds
Then rag on them and all their short comings
Just for the sake of it

Making this show was a long shot
We never thought it be so big
But all our clients are eating up
What are you mumbling?"

Uh, would you say this sideshow act is inhuman or would you say it's heinous?

What has happened to poetry?
It's just some topic of study in English class
Remember when it was important?
When it was used to express real feeling and thought, to provoke and evoke, to paint beautiful pictures with words
Now it's "***** ****" it's "gay", "a waste of time", "tldr", "I don't get it"
People say it's too hard getting published
"No one will ever see this", "I'll never get known" And the ones who do write with hopes of getting published are either humble and talented craftsmen of words who no one takes time to read or appreciate
Or pompous, pretentious poets who use relatable themes to gain a larger audience but give them nothing of value
Nothing to hang their hat on, a plate with nothing to eat on it
I object o shock value, boring sonnets, stiff forms, Hallmark sentiments  and predictable works
**** them, poison these "writers"
Slice their bellies open, break their hands
Shoot them in the throat
Make them drink our ***** as an act of penance and save this art form and bring it back to light, along with insight and intelligence
