Little fish in a big water
Little girl in a big world
And though I exist beneath the surface
I only hope my tail leaves ripples on the topside too
Penguin Poems Sep 2018
It comes in waves, but waves no one else feels; not water waves.
I am hearing frequencies no one else can hear, and they are so powerful that they knock me down, face flat on the ground.
When I try to explain,
They all claim they understand but then how are they still standing?
The particles compressing and stretching are stressing my mind, yet my body cannot muster to fight.
I have almost given up flight.
The air isn’t clear enough,
not quiet enough,
I lost hope and I can find it
It’s been rough but no ones buying it
And that’s when I find myself drowning in the sound no one else can hear.

The water roils and thunder rumbles
Growls low and long across the miles
The waves stir and the wind wakes
In the storm upon the sea

The boat is tossed upon raging waters
At the mercy of the ocean
Slave to every maddening motion
In the storm upon the sea

As the earth unleashes fury
Driving rain and flashing fire
A prayer sent up; sound swallowed by the wind
In the storm upon the sea

The plea is heard as the wind whispers
The clouds roll off to show a sea of diamonds
Moonlight reflects off shining waters
In the night upon the sea

You are the Sea - peaceful and soothing.
Your big waves are your strengths.
And the small ones, your charms.

I am your Shore - acccepting and silent.
Your weaknesses, I embraced.
Your failures, I welcomed.

Not many will understand and agree
But that's how a Shore loves her Sea.

Dream about the waves,
walk on the beach at night
in the crowds

I can still hear
and feel the waves
lunging on my bare feet
I don't know where I'am
but I want to dissapear there

humming and singing
without sound
or shouting things
i've been holding back
I can't lift my head
look at the sand between
my wet feet
and their feet pass me by

It's night on the beach somewhere
but I can see the light.
inspired by my dream, who missed the beach.

We yearn for control.
Splashing and swimming,
in an ever-changing current.
It will decide when to crash,
when to pull us under,
or let you ride to stable shore.

Everything gets caught,
in this current, even time.
Reflecting yourself,
in glass-like calm.
Or in angry gray waves,
where you’ve lost your reflection,
yourself...

How often do we strive,
for calm waters?
How often do we predict,
the tides?
How often do we think,
of hurricanes?

Why not just go,
for the ride?

I can feel the moonlight on my skin
when I close my eyes and inhale the evening's breeze.
The stars kiss my cheeks
and the ghost of twilight peels back the veil
leading into a realm of sleep.
I awake within a dream
and I am there-
atop the moon.
I feel the curve of my spine mold into her
as I lay there, intertwined with her aura.
She is my mighty ship
as we sail through waves of constellations
singing the sweetest song the night sky has ever heard before,
harmonizing with the golden orb around us.
I pray that I will never wake
and live a lifetime
amidst the moon.

What exactly is it that's cemented to your heart?
Is it the roses that travel through your veins, painting your heart red?
Is it the sound of the blue salt foamed waves that floods your memory with her?
Is it the melodic tones that echo through the car speaker, tranquilizing your torment  ?
You don’t need to remember, love.
Your heart is a pulsating instrument of wavering feelings.
