Superheroes inspire us all,
superheroes make us marvel.
Superheroes are adored
from Beijing to Washington D.C.

But superheroes don't wear capes,
they wear a '96 Olympic shirt
and loose-fitting pants
you would never catch me in.

They don't have x-ray vision,
they've worn glasses
for as long as you remember.
They cannot fly,
and yet they seem larger than life.

They never seem to lie,
and they still say "I love you"
in the exact same way
almost sixty years after they bound it to eternity.

They don't have super-strength,
but they are your super strength
and they lift you up
until you can do it on your own.

They seem invincible,
but life has a way of reminding you
that even Superman has Kryptonite.

They are stubbornly steady
even when the bill of health
isn't clean.
Just as they are your strength,
you feel your aching mortality
when you find out
even superheroes get cancer.

Yet somehow,
after their greatest battle is fought,
there they are in all that remains
spreading an unyielding light
upon whoever sees them soaring by.

We wear an "S", a bat,
or even a spider
to pretend that we are our heroes
and emulate their image;
but I won't wear that old shirt,
or those terrible, worn-in jeans.
Instead,
I'll harness that unbreakable spirit,
and maybe one day
I'll be a superhero too.
I love you Papa.

Every time I wake up I feel phenomenal,
Like the rarest of the rare,
I feel like I can save the world,
If I put my mind to it,
I know superman ain't got nothing on me.

They say the mind is a powerful thing,
Once we use it we can break the walls and surpass the sky,
So I guess that's why they blindfold us.
I knew I was born an Einstein,
But they used education to limit us.
But still Superman ain't got nothing on me.

I know I am mighty, strong,
Never go down without a fight.
Confidence level so-so,
World I hope you are ready,
Someone is coming,
Someone who can break the boundaries,
Surpass the stars,
No,
I am not Superman,
But I can be superhuman.

Be my Clark Kent,
My superhero,
The one who saves me from myself

Be my Joker,
My Partner in crime,
The one who loves my crazy side

On the Dark Side of the moon
where the ground lay frozen
is a prophecy due soon
although its forgotten words are left unspoken

It begins with a tale of violence and slaughter
while a wanderer prepares himself
for his encounters with these monsters

They say its all in his head
he believes people call to him,
"Save me from this dread!"
if only he knew the truth, but it may be too grim

He thinks he's Superman, and holds the power within

Your heart was in the wrong,
it stepped where only mine belonged.
You stole my angel,
my Lois Lane.
You were my best friend,
now your fallen.
Your Lex,
you lost a friend because of selfish desire.
There I stood,
clenched fist and black eyes.
One voice,
"don't do it".
"Your better than this"
Rage filled me,
hate consumed me.
"do the right thing"
sadness peaked from my eyes,
I'm no Superman!

There is one thing that is certain you possess impeccable strength and you love a challenge.
Your always improving your flaws on top of  the obstacles you manage.
Superman does the same dealing with villains and their new tactics mainly.
You've always worked hard no matter what life throws at you daily.
Superman fights for those who are good, when they themselves can't. He saves the day.
When you see the innocent being troubled you step in to set the record straight.
From standing up for people to throwing jerks off the bus. A man of Steel is what your body is made of.
Your only human and there are times you feel under the weather,
Even superman gets weak when kryptonite is near him.
But, I never seen or heard superman say what he couldn't do
and to be honest I also never heard it from you.
Superman only exist in DC comic books
However, this is reality and you are what a real superman looks.

He grabbed her hand
     Covered her eyes
      Snatched her from gravity
Flew her to the highest point in the skies
      Held her body tight

" O p e n  y o u r  e y e s "

She did and what she saw was terrifying
      The world beneath her feet

He said
    *Don't be scared
        I've got you
             And I'm  n e v e r  letting you go
Don't let me go...

Not my policy
to consider saving those
who stand on my cape.

Look into my eyes
They widen and glisten
I can show you the elders’ cries
Through sight, you must listen

Take my hand and walk
Soles silently cringe
Walk on but no talk
What you see is a matrix fringe

Curl your fingers together
Feel the icing on the tangible
Clear your throat, it’s fever
Of frill and lust, the dispensable

Can you see?
Can you hear?
Can you feel?
Speak with yourself –
It is no super than I.

The whispers from the moon
From rabbit’s supper to a drone
Akin to a butterfly from a cocoon
Echoes the sound of ‘Om’

Take a seat, float, know tranquil
Look behind, in front, anywhere
The silence is what remains still
Though entities exist everywhere

Can you see?
Can you hear?
Can you feel?
Speak with yourself –
It is no super than I.

Loving you is like lifting a spoon to my lips
it's bowl full of ice cream
sugar and milk sweetly, softly melt upon my tongue
each mouthful reducing in wonder
the taste eventually forgotten until my porcelain vessel lays empty
in my hands
and I ache for more
but my imagined aches harden into reality
as my body reacts in horror at the offering I have brought its enemies
Just as when your face is no longer present to grace my vision
I long for your return,
yet realize how utterly vain is my infatuation for you
Let it go . . .
I wonder if it would be stupid to anonymously send this dude a poem about him.
