Superman my hero
Is just like my friend
It was just what I want him to be
Superman my hero
Is giving us hope
He is keeping us free
God's nation
Is in chaos
But there is one man that
Can save us all
Superman my Hero
He flied many times a day in the sky
He touches heaven
Just like the birds do
Superman my hero
I am so proud of him
Superman my hero
I pray for you every day
You have a job, I have one too
I will tell you what gets me through
Strength, love, and peace
I pray for peace where I am going to be
For you and me
Kids at school
Sending Postcards to those who died overseas in the war
Superman my hero
Keeping busy is what I need to do
And keeping busy these days seems to be the tool
I want to make the hour go fast
So I have to keep myself busy
Superman my hero
Doesn't live in fear
But I do
Superman my hero
Makes sacrifices also
Like I do
Superman my hero
Is landing from the sky right now
He had a perfect landing
Superman my hero
I light a candle for you
May God always bless you
Superman my hero
To the world you gave so much love
Superman my hero
You are an hero
Superman my hero
What are we going to do when our time is up here on earth?
Superman my hero
Your spirit will always be alive in me
You have given your spirit to me and everybody else here on earth
Superman my hero
I am dreaming every night
With you
I know someday my dreams may come true
That's why we are fighting for and doing what we do to save our world
Superman my hero
I hope that others will learn to love you and respect you like I do
Superman I hope others
Will respect our believes and not judge us by what we do
Or by what we haven't done yesterday, today, or tomorrow
Superman my hero
Stands in a shiny sea
Superman my hero
Wants a world were he dominates
And he knows that our land will liberate
A shiny city on top of the hill
Superman my hero
Fighting evil and saving people also
Superman my hero
Has a free will
To help those in need
Superman my hero
It is time to remember what freedom means
It is time to choose freedom
And embrace the future
It is time to choose life
It is time to look after those in need
Because charity begins at home
Superman my hero
I know that together we will get through tough times
Sometimes we just need some courage
Sometimes we need a little prayer
Sometimes we need a helping hand so we can finish our daily tasks
Superman my hero
Let the light shine in your heart, my heart, and all the people here on Earth
Superman my hero
It is a lucky day
Because you are of flying again like a bird in the sky
Superman my hero
Miracles we will see one day
Superman my hero
Black outs
All the town is out of lights left in the dark
Traffic lights are not working
We can't cook our food
We have to eat can food for a few days
We have to survive some how
Some how we will get through this ordeal
And you are flying high above in the sky
The only thing that is shining at night is the moon
Superman my hero
I know that nobody will live forever
Superman my hero
You were meant to fly
Superman my hero
I sometimes feel powerless
Superman my hero
Once I need to get out
And put my foot out of my door
I know that fresh air is good for me and everybody else
I have dreams and desires
Superman my hero
Once a while I just need to get away from the computer
My desk and my computer my favorite hide away
Superman my hero
Will take me to a place that I never been before
Superman I believe that we were meant to be friends
Superman my hero
I must speak now or forever hold my peace
Superman my hero
Snow, wind, and rain won't bother superman my hero
Because he always dress up for the kind of weather
He is smart and wise
Superman won't melt but he might freeze in the winter
Because the days are much colder than you ever imagine

A symbol of hope,
During this trying time.
My Superman.

Honest,
When my world is deceitful.
My Superman.

Forthright,
When others are secretive.
My Superman.

Humble,
When you can be arrogant and proud.
My Superman.

Assertive,
When I go timid.
My Superman.

Regenerative,
After the damage suffered.
My Superman.

Honourable,
When others turn crooked.
My Superman.

Inspiration,
That lifts me after a shutdown.
My Superman.

Respectful,
Even when contempt is felt.
My Superman.

Kind,
Even when you should be inconsiderate.
My Superman.

You may not be able to fly,
But you are the good I can truly believe in,
For you are,
My Superman.

I’ve never been good
At hiding emotions I feel.
I’m not Superman
And Superman isn’t real!

I’m not Superman
And you’re not Lois Lane
We’re not invulnerable
And insensitive to pain.
I can’t read minds
Or see through walls.
And I really can’t fly,
I’m not super at all.

I’ve never been good
At hiding emotions I feel.
I’m not Superman
And Superman isn’t real!

When looking for flattery
It does no good to fish.
I’m not a bottle genie
That grants every wish.
I do the best I can
To give you want you ask
But if I fail, it might not be
A very reasonable task.

I’ve never been good
At hiding emotions I feel.
I’m not Superman
And Superman isn’t real!

So names will not hurt me
But sticks and stones will.
Maybe I’m not the guy
That perfectly fits the bill.
Maybe I should let you
Permit yourself to go free
And the same time you
Would then release me

I’ve never been good
At hiding emotions I feel.
I’m not Superman
And Superman isn’t real!

You know,
I've realized
that you don't need
to fly
to be Superman.
You don't need to be strong
to be Superman.
You don't have to be fast
to be Superman.
You don't have to have super vision,
super hearing,
super intelligence,
or super breath
to be Superman.
We all have a weakness,
yours is said to be
Kryptonite.
You don't have to have super powers
to be Superman.
You don't have to wear an S on your chest,
to be Superman.
People don't have to know you
to be Superman.
To be Superman,
you just have to fight for what you love.

Up to a point
We spend our whole lives searching for superman.
He's hard to find,
But his cape isn't completely invisible.
You can see a tiny bit peeking out from his collar.
He's already been about a kajillion people.
A mom who made you
Macaroni and cheese when you're sick.
A teacher who yelled at the other kids
When they said your glasses were stupid.
The little boy who sat with you at lunch
On your first day at that new school.
The big brother who threatened to beat up
The creepy boy who gave you your first kiss.
That first boyfriend who was there
When your cat died sophomore year.
Superman is almost impossible to find.

But then you hit that point.
Remember when I said
"Up to a point"
Well this is the horrible part.
I mean, it's god awful.
Superman gets really annoying at this part.
It's going to make you want to scream.
Just bare with me on this one.

He puts the cape
On you.
Oh yes.
Now you're superman.
Could anything be worse?
Now there is no one to save the day.
Now you must make your own macaroni and cheese,
Stand up for yourself,
Make your own friends,
Deal with your own relationships,
And handle your own emotions.

I bet your mind is churning now.
You see what I mean.
You've probably hit this point.
Now by this point,
I was furious.
I bet you are too.
You see,
You don't want to be superman.
So this is what you do.
You reject the cape.
But unfortunately for you,
Superman used some super glue.
This is permanent.

Ugh, right?
And now you're going to put all of your time
And all of your energy.
Angrily trying to figure out
Who put this cape on your back.
But you don't really want to know who.
What fun would that be
Just to scream it out
And still be left with the responsibility?
It's good to have a faceless name.
What you really want is to be mad.
I know that my favorite game
Is the blame game.
And I'm willing to bet yours is too.

What we really need to do
Are you ready for the plot twist?
Is realize that we were already Superman!
Remember the time
You did your little sister's make up for her first dance,
Or when you stayed up all night on the phone
Listening to your friend vent about her stress,
Or when you picked up the flyers
That the lady at the restaurant dropped in the street,
Or when you lent that kid two dollars
So that he could buy lunch.
Or when you went home for a visit
Just because your mother missed you.

It's been us all along.
Did you see that coming?
I sure didn't.

I am not superman.
I carry around guns for protection.
I have killed many
And never was sorry.
I have stolen from men
who have stolen from others.
Do not look at me as a savior,
Not even as a big brother,
because I am nothing of a role model.
My wings have broken
and I don't even have a place to call home.
Pain is written on my skin with the smirk of a devil
leaving cracks all over for sorrow to sneak its way in and bury itself deep into my bones.
So give me hope because I'm not man enough to create my own.
I keep putting other's lives before mine hoping that counts as love
but wind up realizing that doesn't count as anything
Trust me, I'm no superman.
I can't even save myself.
I've burned my cape in the fires of hell because I've been there enough
to know I can't wear it anymore.
I have flaws enough to fill the ocean and I'm sick of drowning
and I'm tired of counting dead bodies
and I’m tired of swimming through waves I'm not big enough for.
So hear the violin and piano play my symphony
of the fallen man.
I never said I could fly.
I never said I could save your life.
I never gave up though.
So hold me tight and let me finally break and fall into the arms of someone I can trust and someone I know that'll keep my heart safe buried next to theirs.
I've played wicked games and lost too many times and now I just want to sleep.
I'm tired of turning up black and blue
But I'll do anything to protect you.
If you were never here then I would have ended this a long time ago.
I would have welcomed the salt water into my lungs
Or fall asleep in a tree and meet death in the morning as I hang in silence.
But now I beg for hope because I'm torn apart.
But I know am seen as your superman so I’m going to hang on with all my might,
And live this life with you
as a hero
as your superman.

There is one thing that is certain you possess impeccable strength and you love a challenge.
Your always improving your flaws on top of  the obstacles you manage.
Superman does the same dealing with villains and their new tactics mainly.
You've always worked hard no matter what life throws at you daily.
Superman fights for those who are good, when they themselves can't. He saves the day.
When you see the innocent being troubled you step in to set the record straight.
From standing up for people to throwing jerks off the bus. A man of Steel is what your body is made of.
Your only human and there are times you feel under the weather,
Even superman gets weak when kryptonite is near him.
But, I never seen or heard superman say what he couldn't do
and to be honest I also never heard it from you.
Superman only exist in DC comic books
However, this is reality and you are what a real superman looks.

Superman, caped
Superhero of your childhood
Who but you stood for good.
Kryptonite did you right, but
You know
******’s the new Niagara
Mightiness the new flightiness
Vulnerability the new civility
So, tell me why Superman,
You are so supersensitive
Touchy and defensive less
Couldn’t you see my pain
That I tried so hard in vain
To hide
Hey, Superman
What kind of girl
Do you think I am
I’m not a damsel in distress
But, for God’s sake
Let me know
Is it no
Or is it
yes

Never trust a man in a cape
Says Jake
Never trust a man in disguise
Said I
Never trust a man who flies
Or denies his lies
Never trust a man who doesn’t cry
Never trust a man who can’t get down on his knees
To please, hey
****? Maybe
Prayerful always

Superman doesn’t know what he needs
He only knows what he thinks, thinks
Too much thinking, thinking
Cerebration celebrating
Mentation, mentation
Marching to mental notes
Of what to do
If I were you
Judge nation integration
He’ll keep you hanging
Upside down, downside up
***
He’s a man of deeds
Indeed
All I can say is:
Where will you find inspiration
Never having to ask for help
Help!
Do you think it can be found
In the iteration of your vocation
The kinship of your friendship
The censorship of your feeling self
The pathological need to give
To be liked.

Stop
Superman
your s is shrinking
rip off your shirt shrieking
Pound your chest like an ape man
Modern man, caveman
Crazy man
Here’s my unsolicited advice
Stop being so nice
(Present company excluded)
Let go of the wounds
The controls
The potholes
The foxholes
Free yourself from yourself

Just don’t resist
Resist resistance
Is that an oxymoron
Or am I just a *****

Superman, can you do that
Lois Lane can’t wait much longer
She’s getting much stronger
And she’ll leave you alone
And you won’t have a clue
As to what to do
And she’ll ask you why
You’ll tell her a lie
It’s not really a lie
You simply don’t know why
Superman could never be lonely

You see
Don’t you,
It was always about you
And it still is
From the time I was five
And you weren’t even alive
It was you
From the beginning
You see
Don’t you, darling
You were always my superhero.
