Listen
to the voice of Love
in Silence

and
have Faith*
in what you hear.
Ram B Apr 2016
Cool breeze gently sway
In the darkness.
Stillness whispers in the spirit of silence.

Love flows.
Rest your eyes.
Calm your mind.

Feel it.
When the ego finds its way into control,
Remember how a tree lives as it grows.
With beauty in its stillness, strength and soul,
We see how nature finds a way to over-throw
The concepts of the mind we blindly trust.
When searching for our inner peace we must
Remember just how we are nature too;
Just like the tree cannot forget to grow,
We can’t forget to breathe while life flows through.

Golden rays
green leaves
cool breeze
distant roars of an engine

with closed eyes
I am Peace.
Then the world is.

trust silence
with the world
trust stillness
with your self
Endow them both
your perfect faith
and begin to know
victory

how alike

are oak leaves trembling in a soft wind

and sea foam gliding up

a million grains of sand-glass

as if all of nature is sighing into my neck, saying

“hush”
I have so much work to do but God if five minutes outside in the sun under a good tree doesn't help me feel like myself again, and refreshed

I didn't change I just woke up
Zoomed in my soul for a close up

So many years it was all wrong
Inside my own body I didn't belong

I succumbed to the fear filled in the air
I acted right and never missed a prayer
I played it safe with great effort and care
But all I could feel was constant despair
Playing it safe was getting me no where

Then one moment that was just like any other
Beauty I never thought I'd discover
I realized my soul was my greatest lover

It's hard to explain how this inner peace feels
or the type of sensations that it starts to reveal

But you find that the common desires are fake
Distractions that keep you from being awake
We are so scared we might make a mistake
We don't even realize our journeys at stake

If we can just master how to let go
Never stop learning. continue to grow
Let go of everything you may think you know
Rid of the excess and you start to glow

I stepped outside before the dawn
And in the darkness I stood there;
Looking about my grassy lawn
And through the trees from winter bare.

I stopped because the silence played
Through the trees and upon the lawn;
In that quiet moment I stayed
In the darkness before the dawn.

I listened for a car to roar,
Yet only heard one on the street.
I longed for silence - there before
Our world was filled with this concrete.

I mourn for all the stillness lost,
I mourn for all our poor eardrums,
That ring and click from what it's cost
To build all these cement kingdoms.

But whisp'ring through that mournful thought...
The sole car fades into silence...
I reflect on this peace I've sought...
Birds restrain their songs in shyness...

And as I look about my lawn
I release a breath I had drawn
In the darkness before the dawn.
In the darkness before the dawn.
Once a place of crossing,
  on this sensuously and
precariously warm
February day
I have come to be still,
and to watch, and to listen.

Shadows of trees,
so immensely tall,
stay oddly motionless
under green river water,
even as the surface
moves and swirls
carrying itself ever onward.

Leaves and mud are newly wet;
walking is softer, soundless.

Below the path winding upwards,
melted ice sings again as water.

I drink in its sound, soul diving
heart first into perfect, liquid treasure.
