Touch -
The most significant insignificance.
Sight -
The slightest intention.
Hearing -
The loudest silence.
Taste -
The most complicated intricacy.
Smell -
The love of the non-discriminatory.
You -
The "when all else fails".

I love Vick’s Vaporub
Even when I don’t need it.
It’s a smell down
Memory lane
Sometimes just “because”.

It’s like my blanky
Snuggled up against me
As I shiver from a storm
Tapping my window
And the blanket soothes me.
Sometimes it’s Mentholatum... but that didn’t sound as good!

Him
He smelled of soap, leather, cigarettes and heartbreak

I missed my dad
So I bought his brand
Of pipe tobacco
Eventually,
I also bought a pipe

I light up that pipe
And smell the memory
Of my father
Floating around my head
In whispy trails of years ago.
My dad’s dexterity with filling, tapping and lighting that pipe still elude me, but like an instructional YouTube video, I play and replay the memory of how he did it over and over in my head. I will get it eventually.

I'll stand here, on the edge of time waiting for the world to pass me by
soak in the sun, with every last breath
then disappear when the smell of rain starts to water the earth

When the soil rises into my soul, blanketing my heart with it's earthy embrace
I'll soak in the water drops, the ones that dance on my finger tips
and watch the clouds start to grey

I'll let you colour me, with your rain
I'll let you cover me with your pain
I'll let you envelope me in your everlasting sent
oh petrichor, I'll even let you take my breath

Hearing your voice and breathing your scent and seeing your smile.
Wrapped in your arms and finding your lips and taking it in.
Hearing your laugh and catching my breathe and falling in love
I remember the moment.
Do you remember?

As I walked along the sidewalk I could smell the lingering flowers and summer floating toward me. The spring was coming to an end for summer was slowly approaching smelling of sunflowers and farmers markets.
Good morning everyone!

Your cologne is on my shelf
So at least I don’t have to miss your smell
