I would like to meet my true potential
I don’t think he’d be so provincial
I’d like for him to be influential
Maybe even presidential
And life would not be so abysmal
Hedonistic ways not quite so sinful
To friends and family essential
Words not so banal and artificial
But instead heartening and meaningful

Close your eyes.
Now imagine all your potential.
Who you could be if this were not the case.
What you would do if that was not stopping you.
Where you would be if you didn't have to be here.
Now imagine all those obstacles.
And find a solution.
To overcome.
Everything
That is stopping you from reaching your potential.
A little reminder that you can achieve anything you want to in this life!

Desolation and despair,
the scent of blood in the air.
These are things that I know well,
like the fires that burn in Hell.
In a world without vision,
we are destined for collision.
If I must shout then I’ll scream,
I’ll do whatever by any means.
Know that they’ll be frightened,
if we ever become enlightened.

Her illness is her inexplicable and unwavering fortitude

It acts as both a shield and a sword

And on occasion

A dagger in the back.

Don't waste youth
Find beauty
Hardship
And sacrifice

Release your potential
Be kind
Draw breath
Forget the moments

Live for the future
End the writing
Self loathing
Bland aspirations

Divide emotions
And run

there are voices in her mind,
constant echoes that bubble wildly,
telling her that she's not good enough.

it tricks her into thinking,
that maybe... just maybe,
she's really not good enough.

they tell her she's not suitable,
not for this not for that,
and she just happens to believe them.

as naive as she is,
she's quickly fooled,
for thinking she doesn't have the potential.

but deep down,
passing the harsh reminders,
she really is good enough.
and if you think you're not enough,
baby, you are, you always were.
