I watched the news today,
I watch it every day
and every day It seems the same
painful terror without shame

As Mother nature makes her call
She devastates both one and all
She'll slice her way across the land
As father demon lends a hand
And seas rise up towards the shore
Where land becomes the ocean floor

I watched the news today...

War torn places on their knees,
The innocent no longer free
A starving child, he walks alone
across a stony path he'd roam
Searching for the freedom, a gift that he once knew
His mother dead, his father hurt his brother disappeared
This child alone keeps going, there’s nowhere he can go
He searches everywhere for someone he may know
But no one comes to ease his pain,
His search for freedom, all in vain

I watched the news today...

The starving child who walked alone
He walks alone no more
He’s found amid the war zone
crouched, cold and all alone
He stares into his fathers eyes
where pain and anguish clearly lyes
Hand in hand they walk together
father, brother, and memories of mother,
Along a stony path they roam,
towards the tiny shack called home

Seductive anchor,
News seems deceptively tame;
Anesthetic helps!

So the nature
the dirt of the past
is crushed under
the wave of the future
old relics of freedom
stuck in the sands of time
and an army rises
from the ashes of coffee
and newspaper stories
heroes and nightmares
metallic eyes
arms tied to strings
pulled by those
forever gluttons
in power since
the beginning
however silent
they pull
on their little
dancers
and we forget
our saviors
in this ocean
this new sea
of indifference.

and when your babies were born
you named them for the stars
but the backyard was all they ever saw
when your mother got the call
the world was obsessed
but when we change the channel
you'll still feel him inside
you'll still feel him

The teacher stands before her detained class
And from behind her authoritative podium
She equates abortion to the holocaust
A dangerous comparison in an educational garrison
But the other children nodded their heads in agreement
A benefit of having the ear of youth
Is being able to infect it with your own toxic ideology
What bacteria did this ear infection consist of?
Conservatism? Religiosity? Chastity?
The answer was depressingly simple
I was the only one there unaware of Fox News
I was a casualty of the confusion
The confusion engendered
By venom thoughts placing politic-colored glasses
on the entrenched masses
Entertainment
Used to convey anger and hate
Emotions worth conveying
But not living in
The intents and desires of their vulnerable receivers
become an incongruous disaster

What could I have done?
Minds as still as the pharaohs heart
We live in a society where we're all infantilized by one myth
Good and evil
Looking back on what I did do
I didn't do much
But I did do something
I didn't nod my head like a ******* sycophant

Diplomacy is the best policy.
Ever since the dawn of man we have waged wars to believe in a fallacy.
The future is sacred.
With diplomacy on each side we feel no longer naked.
Sit down discuss our thoughts.
Look we are heading towards the future, look what I brought.
Make trade talks with each other.
Please be my friend, be my brother.
Because without diplomacy the world will come to an end.
No more of us having a future, fun, or friend.
By backing each other into a corner what will we have?
Something that just rips me apart, makes me feel so bad.
No more people in love.
Just driving a stake through our hearts, no freedom like a dove.
History is bound to become true over and over again.
Without diplomacy how will we ever find ourselves again?
Please if you would spread the news.
If you do not believe; please take some time to look at today’s news.
With fair talk people seem to react.
No more of us fighting *** for tat.
Diplomacy gives nobody a raw deal.
People do not walk away empty handed for real.
Just give it a chance time and time again.
Write down your thoughts and express them as well as you can.
So practice like we all want to be.
A world where we can all sit at peace, and peaceful dreams become reality.

oh, little ones
if I could build you a worthy city
to keep you safe and dreaming
I would crush the hope I had left
into a powder,
mix it
with all the things we grown couldn't be
and lay the slurry out to set,
harden it with sun and air
not hate
forming a foundation
where futures could be built
oh,
but my tools have no power
I dented them in fury and shorted them in tears
before they could be used to build

oh, little ones
if ever I find safety in this homeless land
I'll wrap you in it
in a heartbeat
realizing you don't have the resources to help every worthy cause can be heartbreaking

6/19 update- It breaks my heart that this is still relevant

Every fire fascinates
Each battle beggars belief
News of drought and death
Sees viewing figures increase

Solemn faces on the screen
Scenes that 'may cause distress'
Each prompt us to be thankful
That our lives are so blessed

Now move along the sofa
I've got a heavy tray
I'm ready for a horror
Just - press - play

Give nife to bed people
they will ****.
Give it to good people
they will save people.
her spirit
is there
today with
her dime
that fear
her face
like Nefertiti
but in
a garage
that fit
her sleeve
these peeves
roar her
suffrage but
shakes her
clams in
a menagerie
