I look into my world
I ask myself, what do i see?
Your face comes to mind
Oh! How I wish you were mine
Yes, I am selfish
But aren’t we all
Let us be true to ourselves
And watch fear dissolve
I want it all!
But I am not greedy
I need you here!
But I am not needy
My appetite is vast and boundless like the edges of space
So will you cleanse my palate and allow me a taste?
Can I taste your deepest secrets?
Confide in me I’m yours to love
May I enrapture you, unravel you?
Let me penetrate your heart with lust.

         A Thought About Loyalty

I’ve been thinking about loyalty:
A many-sided world of nuances,
The subtle differences.
We all know it means faithfulness,
A sticking-to devotedly.
Unfurled it shows its nasty sides,
The negatives that worry me:
Allegiance and adherence -
-Ism’s steel prepared to go to war
Against all criticizers,
-Isms’ others
Carving up the brotherhood
Of man.
Not for nothing
That a missile system drawn
To sense and intercept an enemy:
Is named the Patriot:
A system to annihilate.

I worry ‘bout obedience,
Compliance and submissiveness.
I like reliability, dependability,
Dedication if it’s not perverted
Duty, if it leads to thought,
A moral sense,
An ethic that agrees with life;
Loyalty without the strife.
Loyalty to think about.

We have both grown up and in that process, we grew apart.
You weren’t emotionally prepared when I said that I love you.
You dismissed my feelings so cold and quickly, I questioned whether you were planning to stay.
In hindsight, it’s obvious that you were destined to leave, what were your plans anyway?
I’ve been writing melancholic poetry and hoarding unforgettable memories.
I question everyone that does not pledge their allegiance to love and loyalty.
I have been reminiscing about the past and all the time that we wasted.
Music that I listen to reminds me of something distant that we used to be.
I should have given you every single part of me when I still had the chance.
I finally understand that it’s too late for me to be apologising for my mistakes.
Apart from attempting to become lovers, we were good friends and now we don’t talk anymore.
It’s such a shame, not even a simple hello could ever suffice, now tell me who’s to blame?
Is it me for becoming emotionally distant or you for giving up too easily on something worth fighting for?
I’ve been looking at your pictures since you left and I can’t seem to delete them from my phone.

We’ve become strangers with memories, it’s obvious that you will never love me like you used to.

In darkness, in secret
In light, in plain sight
With love, with tenderness
With jealousy, with torment
Through words, through wisdom
Through touch, through feel
No matter the height, the climb
No matter the depth, the dive
Whether I be healthy, be strong
Whether I be sickly, be weak
I will be there to protect
I will be there to love
For you I am a guardian
For you I am an angel
