One day
I met a man
tall, lanky, and grey.
He would smile
if someone looked at him,
his hands moving
in every direction
when he would talk,
his legs shivering
from the weight
of his shoulders.
He would fidget
with his clothes
trying to perfect them,
scratching his beard
picking it apart
hair by hair,
sweating his heart out
sitting in an
air-conditioned room,
but his eyes,
his eyes had something.
As if,
they were tired
from the all grief
he had been carrying
not shedding any
part of it
as if a mannequin
came to life,
As if,
his eyes were tired
of the weight of
the tears he had been
carrying all this time.
He learned all his life,
how to be a good man,
how to be a good son
how to be a good friend,
but one thing he couldn't learn,
how to face his grief.
One thing he couldn't learn
is how to be more human.
Because it's only human
to grieve, cry, and then
be able to feel other things.
It's only human
to be human.

You said I couldn't be successful.
You made me break down in tears.
You're supposed to be an influencer;
someone who will shape me for years.

Aren't you supposed to be my teacher?
Well, what are you teaching me?
I can never be worth anything.
I am not who I am supposed to be.

I have learned nothing from you
except for the all the lies you have told.
I can be worthy despite what you say.
You don't know what the future holds.

Learn to learn –
from your success but especially mistakes
from your friends but especially enemies
from your acquaintance but especially strangers
from the big events but especially small ones
from your teachers but especially peers
from the easy things but especially difficult ones

When you learn –
learn to focus on just learning and nothing else
learn to learn from any and every circumstance
learn to just learn inspite of appreciation or criticism
learn to leave your ego completely
learn to blindly follow the prudent guru
learn to be the best among all in learning
The above two verses are based on the teachings of Acharya Chanakya on the qualities of an ideal student

I wrote this for my parents
to acknowledge the fact
sometimes I blunder
sometimes I fail
walk ahead
live love
learn
time falls
I must too
looking ahead
I will grow and know
stumbling is part of life
mistakes were made life was lived

Alone sometimes much,it’s true
Then words return and thoughts of you
could not, should not be for keep
More my suffer,reserve for weep
Around the way,reveal is known
Eternity lived and I have grown
Heart repairs for heart can’t lose
A victory won,cause this I choose.

Of higher learning

We place a loose leash of knowing about slender throats
Caught hard in hollows, a not knowing breath
whose taste slipped into my words learned by rote
I wrote them all down then disregarded the terms
to a rattling gasp of old honour under contract
to self interest; a mid-career master of the dead
passing zombie bus stops still chasing the wind
past car parks come too late to a recording of record
bare baited notations pass status updates into the wind
Faith hung from some devils bargain by the late fee
What value has learning when you can’t find a teacher
Willing to work for the purpose of knowledge alone
Better choke it for the economics of high yield returned
To the word caught in this throat, it churns like cinders, last smoking
weft from the building we built just to watch it burn

There are the times you believe in magic for a change
Knowing fully well that magic doesn't exist
Knowing that letting go is not a choice or you're left in a snipers range
Knowing that your demons are innate
Knowing that its time to fight yourself with your own fist.

But listen,
There are times where you don't believe in magic for a change
Not knowing fully well that magic does exist
Not knowing that letting go is the only choice
Not knowing that your demons were never within
Not knowing that it is time to fight for yourself

But whatever it is,
Fight like a curse, until you get it right
Fight with the force of your desires
Fight your storm with the sword of insight
Fight till your visions lite.

feed my soul
with every ounce
of knowledge out
there because
i'm only alive once,
for what i know,
and i want to be
well fed before
my last supper.

Words were like flowers,
In time they shall wither.
Here, I shall speak my soul.
For some of my thoughts are untold.
I am frightened. Shall I lift up my fear?
For my pains and secrets will unfold.
Soon the wounds of our pain will cease,
Not every word that comes forth my mouth would please.
In our broken pieces, we learn.
Lessons of love shall our hearts earn.
But, believe me, nothing lasts forever.
But remember that I would take my time loving you.
Love was like a flower,
Soon will its blossoms wither.
I was here to tell that my poems are real life experiences. Yes, I might be a pessimist. Words that come out of my mouth aren't really positive sometimes. Sometimes, it won't please you. But maybe because, the truth hurts. But we'll learn. Someday.
