A haze of smoke
Blurs the picture
Lipstick stains the
Cigarette that flickers
Red painted nails
Tap the frozen rails
Champagne bottle,
Dating back to Versailles
Blacked out eyes, matching skin
Bruise alike
**** it with a shot of gin
Little white flowers
Shot with a polaroid
Symbolize my paranoia
Pastel colors litter my eyes
Watching the rain fall
As time flies by
Twinkling Lights of the city skyline
Closed eyes, sip of wine
Hot coffee, big sweaters
Take a sip, enjoy the weather
Old book
Faded maps
And worn out ball caps
Gold jewelry flashed about
Parties thrown in nthe underground
Now I begin, haven't you heard?
Aesthetic is in, what a beautiful word.
Safe in my watery church,
I quietly watch warm water-drops
gather on every bit of my thin, scarred flesh.

My eyes become moons, the demi-globes
of water on my skin become moons,
my heartbeats become moons, the moon
becomes an even nearer moon
and I pale in all that sacred bright.
that I sit in showers
because water understands.

No questions. No judgment.

It just holds me.
I confess:
I left your yellow-brick road
and followed a forest deer trail instead.

I belong to the unknown.
I awoke to a piano
lullaby ringing in my ears
and moon lyrics
whitening my lips,

goosebumps illuminate my pale skin.

The stars talk
to me: they blink
Morse-code.  I drag
my knuckles along the blue
wall, force my skin away.

I want to see bright bone,
like fresh moon in the dark.
It’s all come down to this:

prongs and damp curves
and lots of serration.
My bite and your bite
and we all
bite down.

You never know how much you love something until it's gone.

You dream about it practically all night long.

It takes up your mind making you go blind.

Making you do things that you've now had to hide.

Leaving you in the dark lost inside.

Not knowing where to go or what to try.

Nothing you've ever imagined before.

You hold the key to the door.

Unlock it and it begins.

Unleash what holds within.

It may let you fall or it may make you fly.

You never know until you try...
I don't know I'm knew here so... this is my poem, one of my favorites, I hope you like it!
(There are galaxies pinwheeling all around me and I can’t sleep.)

there is a malignance
festering within my bones.

night has hypnotized me numb.

it pulls Lake Michigan’s secrets in.

i stare at my cracked wrists.

there is mold in the crevices
of my mind.

i need stardust, to taste the burn of light.

the moon pulls blood from my heart,
shivers from my skin,
a sirens scream from my throat.

You open your eyes
to look
you do not see
you look

You open your mouth
to talk
you do not speak
you talk

You use your ears
to hear
you do not listen
you hear

My mouth still lingers with the flavor of cigarettes
and all I can taste is you.

My hair still is brisk and musky like the woods
and all I can smell is you.

My eyes still burn from the cold on that late winter day
and all I can see is you.

My skin still itches from the wool scarf you gave to me
and all I can feel is you.

My ears still ring from the song you wrote
and all I can hear is you.

My mind still sits in awe of the way you are
and all I can think about is you.
