Tall trees and grass everywhere
Howling wind and grasping branches
No one to be seen or found
All, all alone in the darkness

Light far away in the horizon
Stretching out to grab it
For every breath, a step closer
A flame inside called hope

Someone dragging me back
I am fighting back
So tired and exhausted
But the longing for you is strong

For a moment, just a second
Giving up sounds fine
I close my eyes as I hear
You whisper to me

I decide to try one more time
So I set my eyes on you
Determinedly I find you
And finally I am home again

I was created for the sun
I know because my hands hold the warmth of the sun itself
I exist to offer it to other people
And it's beautiful to me
The sunlight that flows through the world
Thick and rich
Maple syrup
Coasting from the sky and slowing down time
Soaking into my arms
Filling me with warmth
It closes my eyelids and wraps me in an airy blanket
Every day I inhale the sunlight
Fill my lungs with the helium of spring until my stomach explodes out of my body to go explore the fields
Oh to live in that feeling
To be nothing but a girl
Laying on a hill,
I'm a hammock,
On a towel on the beach
Soaking in the sunlight
Bathing in the warmth
I have to hold the sunlight until my palms burn
Everyday I turn my palms to the sky and beg for more of the beauty
To cover every part of the until I begin to glow myself
Every time I venture outside
I long to reign in the sky and shape it into my eyes,
Sprinkled with grass
I'll pull at the trees until they turn into strands of my own hair
Roll my arms in the dirt until my freckles are three shades darker.
I am a sponge
God created me to absorb his creation until it flows back out of me.
I was created to be the trees
To extend my arms to heaven and shade those few who cannot love the sun the same way I do
The sunlight has always been, always will be,
My sustenance
It grows me so one day I might reach the sky
And hold onto the clouds

the sunset imbues its last glance
as molten lavas cool into exotic crimson
painting the color of romance over the horizon.
the clouds flew,
and you closed your eyes,
cicada songs humming through your ears,
and pink hues glowing across your cheeks.

then, i saw your chocolate brown
eyes gazing out in awe.
your fawn satin skin seemed so delicate,
as did your jet black hair.
coral florets glowed among fluorescent orange, yellow, pink flavescent clouds, calm in migration.

the west reaches for clothes of new colors
which it passes to a row of ancient trees.
you open your eyes, and soon these two worlds both leave you;
one part climbs toward heaven, one sinks to earth.

it's nearly dark now, and the stars are peaking out amongst the clouds.
you're lying in the grass, feeling every strand tickle your bare legs.
you close your eyes again, and the air you're breathing is hot and heavy.

i strode my fingers through your hair, sighing softly
gazing away at
blue evening grandeur skies, and you smiled…

pastels in yellow flow around my scene
and i relish in the comely gold light for at last,
we are gazing at the same sun.
based on a prompt my best friend gave me!!

A blade of grass is inconsequential,
Unless it's above you,
Or found on Mars.

One mosquito is unnoticeable
Until sounding in your ear at night,
Or infecting a nation.

A broken heart isn't uncommon
When it's someone else's.

Should I not cut grass
or ****, taking lives only
trying to get sun?

Any good excuse
A pine cone swept in the timber
in blow with wooden needles
that a lantern was the wiles of birch
along the frills of enlightened where spores till
this deadwood manufacturing transport
with a pipe cleaner's lore of trees
whether they intertwine on the carpet again
in loom to manifold in the soil.

Sweet chirps come from the trees
Small warbles of the animals echo around me
As I stare at the grass
Which is stained in scarlet.

Your body body lies still
Frozen in ice.
Your eyes never opening.

I wish I could turn back time
To when you stood by my side
Smiling that goofy grin
With your dimples pinching your cheeks.
Strange thoughts come at the oddest times.

It is yet dry -
A channel readied a garment full of petals,
Dressed a fragrant flock of grass - to try
To hide
Beneath the rocky routes. It marches
Casting fragrant smells of flowers.

A channel tumbles water,
Runs the torrent forward
Where? I'm eager to know why
It seems to me
A neighbourhood to life.
Ariq is the way a tiny water channel is called in Uzbekistan. It's used to create workforce for janitors

The grass is the perfect shade of green
Delicately accessorized by flowers
Each strand lays crisply in its place
Wading through the strong wind
The smell entrances those that walk by
Sending hints of your childhood up your nose
The chickadees' whistle as the trees sway elegantly
Every once in a while an acorn will fall
Rolling onto the pavement wanting to root itself in soil
A squirrel sneakily but sporadically greets it
Jumping around the helpless nut
It drags it only four feet until it is once again distracted
Crawling up the tree, perching itself
Staring at a wooden bench where a young lady sits
With her woven brown scarf wrapped delicately on her head
Writing in a blue book that is filled with experienced drawings
She has a paper bag of safflower seeds in her lap
A nearby dove purrs at her politely
The lady sets her velvety book down
For it is no longer interesting
She spreads the safflower seeds precisely around the off-white animal
Smiling as it gazes suspiciously at its food
Inhaling the powerful smell of the grass and dandelions
She gazes at the field in front of her and tucks her brown curl behind her ear.
Turning a page in her hardback book and writes:
*"The grass is the perfect shade of green"
I wanted to challenge myself in this poem and try to use less first person. I noticed a lot of my poems were quite depressing and were always in the first person. With this poem, i decided to take it to a time many people are familiar with where it almost seems like they are at  a park or lake or something like that
