I’ll fight from the saddle
I’ll brave the streets
For life is a battle
With variable beats
There’s one with a roar
And two for a tug
There’s three filled with gore
And four for a hug
There’s beats with vitality
And beats that push and shove
Some drum deeply about mortality
Others of beauty and love
For on these beats I fight
Every single day
Some make me feel like a knight
Others, only a forgotten stray
Then there’s you standing there
With a beat all your own
You like to kiss and swear
Inspired by the history of Joan
Your beat stands out above the rest
Like a heart in an empty mine
This battle surely is the biggest test
But from what I see, you’re doing fine
Though you tend to hold back
You’ve fought with each beat
Like a wolf leading the pack
You know not of retreat
I long to fight beside you
To help strengthen your beat
For surely with two
We would sound like a drumbeat
Ready for battle
The two of us will be
Our horses all saddled
And our beat full of glee
beat for my angel

You've gone on before me
   I'm feeling so down
Though one day in Heaven
   I'll see you around
We'll shout out with singing
   On Heaven's bright shore
With you in my arms
  Together once more!
We'll praise My Dear Saviour
   And look on His face
Together we'll thank Him
   For His love and grace
Our hearts will be mended
    Our sorrows all gone
With you right beside me
    All crying is done.
We'll walk through the Heavens
    On streets of pure gold
We'll have perfect bodies
   To hug and to hold.
We'll sit and just listen
   To Heavenly Band
We'll gather our crowns
   With Jesus we'll stand
We'll cross through that river
   Our mansions we'll see
To hold you forever
   What glory will be!
I now live each day for
   That moment just when
Those trumpets will sound
   And I'll see you again!!
When one of our loved ones goes to Heaven before us or before what we feel is "their time to go", so many times Christians get bitter at God with the pain of grief and loss.  Even though it hurts beyond words, we can rest in the thought that with the Gift of Salvation, we are only apart for a short time. Yes one day soon we will see our loved ones walking pain and sorrow free beyond those Heavenly gates of Glory! God has given me these words about this thought. I pray that you too can find some comfort in these words:

Another year gone by,
Atleast for 7 months the debate about who is older will not be heard.
Ohh boy!
An I so glad.
Its just silly to be wishing you a happy birthday,
But whatever,  you deserve it.

Wishing I could spoil your day so badly.
But luckily I ain't around.
Little-Old "bro" God has sustained you.
Wishing you a long life
And heaven at last.
May the good Lord guide and bless you.
Reminding you that every day leads to you being a man.
May you live to see your children's children.
(And also mine too).

A blissful and a happy birthday to you
With lots of love and care.
Happy birthday to you Tevin .A. Ndlovu.  A friend and a brother I never had.  19 is still just a number,  there are still more years to come. Hang in there buddy

The deeps of darkness have been raised
As if  their being was kindled.
The warm night of peace is at an end.
The devil is he that rages unchecked this night, and there are none to withstand him.
The shield wall breaks, the cavalry routed, and the meanest defence stands alone.
What shall become of these men?
Death surely, for the miracles of poetry give lie to no truth. The curses of old are set in concrete.
Death has gained his presence here. He smells victory. For the living in their mundanity see only their existence.
This existence that means nothing in the tomes of the greater good.
There is no life, only sorrow.
There is no victory, only decimation.
Only the naive think thus.
Victory is not that of arms and steel.
Nor of land or gold or tales of which bards sing
Victory is in the fight that was fought.
For they that wage the good war, and fight the good fight, all is victory.
Defeat is beyond question. Life is not of consequence.
The act alone reigns supreme.
This isn't joy. This isn't glory.
For victory chooses  not the last man to stand, but the last to fall in defiance. Victory belongs to the departed. The victorious dead.
And such as it is. It shall end now.
And it's end alone worthy of song .
For all who bear witness to it.
We die, we do not flee.
Torrents of vapor ridden wind, snatched at her hair.

Below, rattled the rapid, riotous and vast, rippling sea.

Churning, like a chewing, charming serpent's lair.

Once long ago I knew her; with time she left me be.

On the edge she was, with will to leap t'wards the horizons.

The brittle cliff would not give way, for even it was curious.

Dare say all of nature reacted for the most prurient reasons.

Even the sky descended to watch, with a lightning so furious.

She beheld no fear and the sky wept with thunderous applause.

Her bare marble-like features glistened in the gleaning of the gloom.

Why she stood there, triumphantly, tempting, terror, for what cause?

It will never be known, for she never was, in a time before this doom.

The earth shook like the hands of a beleaguered, berated old man.

It erected monoliths. Volcanoes, pluming molten magma skyward.

The red glow brought heat; earth thought to please her, or so was its plan.

The elements wrestled for the better view of that beauty stalwart.

Never had a sight been so majestically violent, so mightily tame.

Where she stood, should and would forever more be a sacred place.

The tempest of the elements raged on, though none would win the game.

A silence, softly, settled the rambunctiousness, and halted their race.

The skies parted with a sad and lowly somberness.

Every elated, embittered, element safely put to rest.

As the sun swept aside all their postulated, pettiness.

Rays of the sun showered her with bright white zest.

The lady, she moved with unfathomable grace.

She tilted her perfect head up to the skies.

With the slightest of a smile shook her face.

Like all before, she left them there surprised... and forever, there she stood.
I wrote this poem back in 2011.

Cooked by the fires resulting from the friction-full schism of a summer romance, the flames of which still linger to this day, I hold this poem dear to my heart, because I would not let those passions abate unless they are proved irrelevant.

And so, on this day that I will consider the anniversary of this poem, I bid you safe travels upon whichever lover's road you roam, hoping that you find love-everlasting wherever your brighter tomorrow awaits.

When the day is done for the infantry,
they bow their heads and take a knee,
they clasp their hands and start to pray,
that they may live another day,
should a challenge for them ever arise,
they would proudly meet it with open eyes,
soldiers fight with the honor and pride,
moving any and all fear to the side,
a soldier's family and freedom is his core,
for wanting to ever fight a war.

tonight we ride!
we shall band together and raise our swords!
to hell with 'em! they don't stand a dust mote of a chance!
follow me!

show no fear! we are men!
this day is ours!
on the morrow we will return home rich with glory
and our names will be sung in songs!

swines! beasts in men's clothes!
feel the kiss of cold steel!
savages! all of you!
dine with the devil in the land of hell!
we take no prisoners! We yield only to death!

tonight we ride!

I was there with her
the day she went to Glory
What a tender moment
What a beautiful love story.

Although she'd been in pain,
it ceased to mark her face
when she saw her savior coming
to take her to his place.

And though she could not speak
I watched her reach above
You could feel His warm, sweet presence
On her face, a glow of love.

And in that quiet passing
from this life to the next
there was comfort just in knowing
with him she'd get to rest.

There's no doubt about it
His presence there was known
He came to care for Mother
and welcome her back home.

He blessed me with my mother
compelled to share the story~
Of the peace that fell around her
the day she went to Glory.
For my mother, Iola.
