i was drowning in your galaxies of blue.
blue so pale- like your    e   y   e  s
when i swore i could feel them on me but
you weren't there.
i was drowning in your galaxies
in which the stars would shine
shine bright / bright light / bright white light / pale bright white light-
not like printer paper in the sun
more like the pigment of your skin
in the moonlight.

i didn't mind. drowning didn't seem
so bad.
because even though i felt awful and sad, i
also felt loved,
and that was so very pretty to me
as a poet. as a lonely star amidst
constellations.

you almost said the "l" word
a total of (probably) seven times in the five
long-short months that
we were almost lovers.
i actually said the "l" word
a total of five times.
twice as a half joke, hoping you'd pick up
where i slacked in clarity but never
in sincerity
and three times (thrice) in my goodbye
in which i beheld these self-evident truths:

that the almost (always almost) meant
that we could never be lovers
and i thought that i'd prefer us to be nothing to each
other but maybe friends.

(maybe, maybe, maybes make me want to wish on stars
but not the ones in your eyes)

and although time flies
i'm still somehow drowning in your galaxies
of blue.

and i wonder if its killing me
slowly
as your stars blink
and i'm gone
when they open their eyes.
*almost.
oh man. that was long but my heart needed it to be written. might be spoken word if someday i can read it aloud without bursting into tears.
Your magical eyes just attract to take me along
Taste of your lips remind me of just wine on ice
Your glowing cheeks celebrate streaks of song
Please do not ask me price of your mole so nice

Beauty has never danced on enlightened path
Love has just never ever embraced the galaxies
Burning candle has never kissed the light of moth
Real life is full of such blazon and burning fancies

What a wonderful image you carry I can't explain
What I love that is your beauty as pure as white
My love let us play hide and seek in drizzling rain
Let my love be sparkle through you to be bright

As I gaze up at the sky,
I have a strange sense of deja vu.
I look beyond the moon,
and on my breath,
my soul lifts to stars
light years from here.
To cosmic worlds
of planets and galaxies.
Where blackholes breach
the edge of space and time.
Where asteroids as large as planets
travel through the Milky Way.
Occasionally,
colliding,
leaving clouds of
interstellar dust behind
in their wake.
I breathe in,
then out,
and my soul returns
on an even breath,
leaving me with just
a brief taste
of the world
from which I came.

Languid lakes levitate my soul.
Mists hang low upon those hills,
While mountains scratch the surface of the sky.

The world is whole,
So full of thrills.
No time to reason why.

Galaxies spiral, out of control,
Stars swirling in milky swills.
Scenes I hope will never die.

Yet time, I’m sure, will take its toll.
And do whatever our God wills.
Oh no! I hear you cry.

Yet look at coal, or any tree bole.
And look at fields of daffodils.
Life’s next cycle is always nigh.

There must be more than this.
More than what lies
beyond the deep,
blue sky.
Where stars condense,
and collide.
Where glalaxies spin,
and multiply.
Where life blooms,
but never dies.
There must be more
than what lies
at the end
of an ordinary life.

You gave him entire galaxies
But in his mind
All he saw was a single planet.

Millions of stars.
Shooting,
Falling,
Granting wishes
All around me,
But only one
Lit up
My sky.

I chased it
Blindly,
Dancing on
The moon,
Swinging on
Saturn's rings,
And searching
Through endless
Galaxies,
But I never
Could quite
Hold it
In my palm
To glow
Brightly in
My hand.

I think now
That maybe
Perhaps
You were
That one star
That my arms just
Weren't meant
To reach.

Close.
Close enough
To be warmed
By your light,
To be changed
By your beauty,
But only to admire
From a distance,
Millions of
Light years away.

In your words, the infinite stars of the universe live. And, your

syllables are vines that wrap around my soul and clench onto it, like

the moon to the earth

The freckles scattered across your skin
Are like the stars upon the sky
Each one is special, unique
Different but still dazzling

There are too many to count
But you will try anyway
Getting mixed up somewhere
Between the moon and the milky way

They are all so beautiful
And are like no other
So don't try to cover them up
Or hide them from the world

*You never know,
One of those stars might be a galaxies
Ever since I was little I really hated all my freckles and it wasn't until recently that I started to accept them as part of who I am.

To have found you within a million galaxies was already magical enough.
