you don’t need to tell me you don’t love me
for me to know
you were never the fairy tale
i’d made you out to be

and I don’t need to hear
about me versus the princess you’ve always wanted
when it’s a story i know
by heart

There is nothing I can say
But when I say it
Listen
Girls who need to understand that you can also initiate and start something you do not have to wait for someone else's approval.

We're really showing our age,
As we turn another page,
Life in the Magic Faraway Tree,
Gossamer floating fairy,
Translucent veil of Silky,
Ethereal and delicate,
Gauzy and so intricate,
Sheer and diaphanous,
Cobweb wings so vaporous,
Someone kind to take her hand,
Smiling face of the Saucepan Man,
Now I'm old, I've got a job,
I've turned into Dame Washalot,
Our imaginary friends have faded away......
Yes, we're all showing our age,
Let's turn another magical page.
Feedback welcome.

Wild woods, moss-green gowns,
secret keys and magic crowns
are lit by the sun until
this forest is so bright with hope
that you shrink away, blinking,
still learning to cope
with your right to stand
among beautiful things.

What if I told you the fairy dust
was just bits of dry skin,
nomadic in a sunbeam through a window,
forest of perpetual Sunday afternoon,
slowing the light down
to the quaint speed of sound

would that make you feel better
about lying on the ground?
Your shoulder blades are not cutting
at the grass like you say.

You are a resident of this light,
citizen of the liquid state it’s in,
of every grain of sand in this clearing,

you are so alive,
and every cell of you that dies
is a particle in the current in the sky
that gives buoyancy to fairy flight

so please, come sit back down
with me.

There is a child in you that still believes
in fairies,
and I would like her
to see how green the ground is today,
how sure
it is that her feet belong,
that this ground is hers
to walk upon.

Watching eyes and telling lies
That's what little boys are made of
Tiny tops and ***** on the rocks
That's what little girls are made of

Mirror, mirror
Said the queen
Self-conscious,
Not wanting to be seen

Mirror, mirror
Every day
Urging wrinkles
Not to stay

Mirror, mirror
She was taught
If she was ugly
She was naught

Mirror, mirror
She cannot feel
Emotions ruin
Her appeal

Mirror, mirror
She feels dead
To the husband
In her bed

Mirror, mirror
Her heart is failing
Her lungs are gasping
Her kidneys wailing

Mirror, mirror
The doctor said
She has a growth
In her head

Mirror, mirror
She cannot stand
But she's still the most
Beautiful in the land

Mirror, mirror
But not anymore
Her place taken
By the child of a *****

Mirror, mirror
She needs a heart
The child has one
There's a start

Mirror, mirror
She's in so much pain
She doesn't know
How to be humane

Mirror, mirror
The child is dead
The heart is weak
But she has fed

Mirror, mirror
The heart has failed
There is no other
That ship has sailed

Mirror, mirror
She is desperate to live
She finds a corrupt magicker
And gives all she can give

Mirror, mirror
She feeds on death
Each soul she takes
Lies in every breath

Mirror, mirror
She carves words in her skin
EVIL, VAMPYR
DEMON, SIN

Mirror, mirror
She moans in the night
Her husband sleeps in a separate bed
Yet still quakes in fright

Mirror, mirror
The child is not dead
All the lives she has taken
When she could have taken one instead

Mirror, mirror
Look at her now
Twisted and broken
Macabre magick on her brow

Mirror, mirror
The child must pay
Perhaps her soul will be redeemed
It is the only way

Neverland
A** place where we never grow old
The people there let go
How do I know?
A fairy told me so
Now fly at your flow

Once upon a time,
Doesn't exist,
At least not with me,
This fairy tale wannabe is never ending.

I'm not into the princes,
But there's always this one,
That you have to kiss.

Yeah that's right,
I kiss the Prince,
He becomes a frog,
And there,
The guy of my dreams.

Although,
There are also some that come as frogs.

Yeah,
Lucky me to find one,
But the thing is,
That frog won't let me kiss him,
He keeps running away,
Maybe he thinks it'll turn him into a prince,
Cuz I like frogs actually,
And I don't need a prince,
I don't want a prince.

The frog hurt me,
So I'd leave him alone,
But I'm not going anywhere,
The wound will cover up itself,
Soon enough,
And even if it never does,
I'd go into war with it,
*For that frog.
I'm angry, hurt, sad, in pain but I'd still always be there for you, you're my little idiot.

Lust, Sin, Pride, Greed,
I'm just your average human disease.
I didn't plan on being what you need.
But now I am, and it ******* scares me.

I'll be a disappointment.
I'll leave you washed up, and spent.
I know I'll disappoint you.
Why won't you quit while you're ahead?

I'm sorry I wasn't it.
Not even close to being a Prince.
I'm sorry I can't be it.
*It hurts less if you just forget.
Just forget your Frog of a Prince.

She always seemed so synchronized,
To the thoughts that crossed his brain.

Picking up her feet to dance,
To distract him from the pain.

She kissed his worried temples,
Wiped his tears away like rain.

All the while still syncing with the
Thoughts inside his brain.

He wondered why she danced there,
And focused on his thought's.

"Maiden don't you think that there
is something you've forgot?

You spend worry on my brain waves,
you dance around and sing.
But don't you forget fair maiden,
that your thoughts can also ring."

She stood a while and faced him,
and focused on her thoughts.

"No my dear it's clear that you
are something I am not.

Your thoughts they never linger,
they come and then they go

And unlike me the bad ones
never stay and never grow

So yes, I'll dance about you,
and I'll kiss your temples pink.

And dance about you daily,
just to hear the thought's you think."
