Him
I let him touch me in ways i shouldn't have.
I let him empower me in ways i shouldn't have.
I let him take me over.
I let him become my everything.
I let him do all the things i said would never let some guy do.
I am down
I am worn
I am tired
I am hurt
I am bruised
I am torn
But i am a surviver
I prevail
I am an overcomer
And i will
*keep fighting

Have you ever been on a seesaw?
It's kind of like life...you know?
It goes up and down
Depending on the weight on the other end you may be at your highest point...living and loving life.
Screaming out in elation...oh, what joy you have.  High...in the sky...on the high end of that seesaw.

Then it happens....that heavy burden that weighs you down.
Bringing you down, down, down….down
Sometimes so close to the bottom that you are forced to get on your knees for support.

Causing you to lift your head and arms up to the sky and yell, “God help me.  Please release this weight that is bearing down on my soul.”

Then, after what may have seemed like an eternity,  the other person at the end of the seesaw jumps off...thrusting you up and forward.

Reminding you that the weight that bears you down is only temporary....like the motions of a seesaw.

Coming from nobody,
I was but an afraid little boy.

Ambition or desire meant nothing to me,
And like a mouse I hid in my little corner.

Anger and torment embedded,
While lashing out at the weakest things.

In my youth I was an afraid little boy,
But my deepest desire was to express.

When you express your thoughts,
You can free yourself from torment.

With words meld with your purest thoughts,
and exposing yourself help break away from individual personal chain,

Truly those who can look at their weakness,
They can break away from their fears,
And loving one self is the first step in healing.

My empty ambition became thirsty,
And then the emptiness became desire.

I dared ambition to consume me,
And desire to take me with vengence.
No longer that little boy afraid.

See I was never free however,
Because being Korean meant family first,
But if the king was a fool?

What is love?
Better yet what is living?

Is it true vile, greedy, arrogant people live on,
But those innocence is the very first casualty?

I could not be afraid little boy no longer,
I must become a man with his dreams,
And hunger to want everything.

When I moved from Minnesota to Kentucky,
I knew no one, and had any clear vision.

I just knew if I restarted fresh from where I stood, life would open up for my conquest to reach my goals.

So here I stand in my kingdom, with fortress in developement,
For now I am the Lord of my initial dream.
I came to Kentucky as a nobody, knowing no one, but been recently promoted to STS of Kentucky market!  Do dare dream and seek, for not all your work will be in vain. All those long hours, and those time travelling paid off!

Ami
I believe in love
not a bickering of the broken heart
I believe in love
with the tangled emotions overwhelming me
I believe in love
though there is someone who can see a cynic in me

I’m beautiful
not to the masses
I’m beautiful
to the ones I choose to show this trait in me
I’m beautiful
to those who choose to see this trait in me

I’m a poet
not by writing rhyming verses
I’m a poet
with the numbness, dullness of the poetic verses in me
I’m a poet
by being the person that is me
The word 'Ami'  means 'me' in my vernacular language, Bengali.
When the light of the day destroyed the monster
That hung over her head at night,
As she saw the monster that haunted her lonely mind at night,
Turn into ashes;
She realized that it will come after her ever night
If she gave it the power,
If she fed it the insecurities and the fears.

She realized the only way to destroy the monster forever
Was to give herself the power,
Enough power to make it turn into ashes with her light.
I'm having an affair with words
They take away my breath
Words tell me what I need to hear
Without missing a step

Words work on my emotions
I'm transcended by their displays
There's legitimate anticipation
Within each and every page

When I look away for too long
There is a longing that takes place
The wonder of conclusion
Vanished, without a trace

Words help me to liberate my own ideas
In the subtlest of ways
Or when my faith seems in doubt
I am enlightened by a phrase

Their sense of humor is unequaled
Words teach us and inform
They can be as cold as ice
Or soothing, kind, and warm.

Words hold many of life's answers
To questions that we seek
When written, we can convey
Much more than when we speak

Words empower, words are strong
They help decipher right from wrong
Words can guide you,
Lead you home
Words are your friends
When you're alone

Words can help, or they can harm you
Depending on their use
Words can fool you, or misguide you,
Lie, or tell the truth

What I love, are words' transparency
Written right there in black and white
If misconstrued, words can lead to tragedy
Although the stories' plot is trite

We must take part in the mastery
Of each and every words avail
So that the notions we wish to ration out
Are nothing but...
The finest of detail.

Precision personified
Never at a loss for words
Or ****** with a mouth for war
That's when devastation's heard

Instead, a calming smoothness
Inspiration from inside
This, in my opinion, is the greatest use of words
And the peak of humanities pride.
This writing was an extension of a poem I started many months ago. I truly made a valiant effort to express everything I felt about what writing, and being able to write, means to me. If I didn't accomplish the feat, I did manage to come close. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

There is nothing I can say
But when I say it
Listen
Girls who need to understand that you can also initiate and start something you do not have to wait for someone else's approval.

Permission to speak, I am the ally of the silenced and unheard.
I am the noise you can't shake.
Two sharp points like the accents I carry on my tongue.
I slither and squirm as I observe what they have done to you.
It's a tragedy what they think of you and how arrogantly they use you for self proclaimed prophecies.
No! I am not that! I yell loudly, but only the echo replies.
Incarceration, deportation, degradation, gentrification some of the words that burn as I spit them out.
False ideologies are accepted as realities ignoring the facts.
I am not illegal and you don't have the right to label or decide.
I am not a criminal, never was.
Don't obstruct my academic path, I will jump each and every obstacle one by one.
I was born free, you labeled and shackled me with lies and hatred but I broke loose.
With my forked tongue I battle your double sided knife.
I am not content with the destructive pattern that has emerged with your avarice.
I will not **** for you and I will not die in vain.
My snake like tongue has no mercy and will not cease until I see dignity and peace obtained.
