Parties are a time to just let go

Put on your heels and just go with the flow

Let the darkness of the night, consume your identity

And let the alcoholic beverages bring you to pure ecstasy

A night of pure bliss filled with drunk teens and friends

Let the beat of the music take you further then you have ever been

Pretend you are different, you can do anything you want

Cause with enough alcohol
There is no need to put up a front

Forget all the consequences that the morning brings

Because for a single night
You are the king

Spread open your wings and soar to the sky

And for a fleeting moment you can forget about your life
Went to a party last night, and I just let go it was so good.

I wonder to the bar and see lipstick
tags holding on to lonely sticks.
A stirring of moments, melting pots of
relaxing reflection they called it dove.
As your worries fly away with everyone
you have, and then I'm served and done.

Collecting my shuffling skills to weave
the ocean of others, our drinks we've
been able to keep from sinking on others.
Thirsty friends awaiting our return, like
maidens on the shore, smiling a dislike
for a wrong drink brought. acting childlike.

But he holds no argument as butts lay
static. We were the sailors escaping the spray.
Telling them of our journeys and sights seen,
mouths a gasp at observing a beautiful scene.
A number taken with but a glance of smiling
eyes and with a drink brought clearly willing.

He knows that is for another time, as the street
we surrender to. As hunger outweighs sweet
perfumes enticing friends to anchor away from
needing mates. Aromas perforate a needed outcome,
handing over spare change to fulfil a nights hunger.
Laughing as were old, never wishing we were younger.

As wisdom teaches that a fish may swim,
but to much of a good thing can end in a whim.
So one must always leave a little in a glass,
for we need not want our slumber to be on grass.
Awoken in our beds slighty misty eyed but
a nice number in the phone and in my pocket a peanut?

When is your lavender infusion enough for serving to guests, combustible enough for the summer months, could it make us invincible to poverty? It made Jackson ******* paint the future with sticks, and made Mike Jackson fill a house with unofficially adopted toddlers and children, maybe it’ll make us go out on a limb, we could chill it with ice cubes and serve it with lemon. I’m not sure if it’s the lavender talking or the infusion you see, but it might take several hours until the simple syrup can be poured into our lemonade drink.

He just swims in his mind
drowning sorrows in drinks,
the light has burnt out
he's unable to think,
about life and what to do.

He sneaks off in the night
taking heavy-hearted steps,
he leaves nothing behind
he just wants to forget,
about life and what not to do.

We don't really talk a lot anymore
No more than a "hey" every few months
But I just caught myself day dreaming of you for 5 minutes straight
I just thought about one of the nights where we were staying up late, drinking Bud Lights and watching The Office
I stepped in the kitchen while you were in the bathroom and you saw me when you came out and wrapped yourself around me just to hold me
I just day dreamed about that for 5 minutes straight
Just that
Just your innocent embrace
Just you holding me in the kitchen because you missed my touch

With every shot of drink
My mind goes back to think

With every thought I think
My heart rises and sinks

With every beat of my heart
I feel distant and apart

With this feeling of despair
My tears roll without care

With every drop of tear
I take another shot of beer

With soothing music in air
Tonight you've been unfair

With you not here
This night grabs my fear

With this drink of beer
My mind rolls back to clear

With memories in my head
I crawl up in my bed

With your picture in my hand
I hope tonight's not my end
