I reject the likeness of you _
To resolve this, I lied and become the finest of you

I reject the sameness as you _

To avoid this, dishonesty pleasures—
I believe the untruth

I reject the appearance of you _
Through the looking glass I continuously hate the one who stares back at me

I reject your charm _

Where most who encounter me seems to be magnetize to my own charisma

I reject the way you think
And here I am discerning how not to be you

I reject your cheating heart
I saw mom suffer from this and yet I cheated

I reject your rejection
Where I thought I forgive but I still despised your presence in my head...
Brent Kincaid Mar 2017
You told me lying was a sin;
You lied.
You told me cheating was a sin;
You cheated.
You told me adultery was a sin;
You cheated.
You told me stealing was a sin;
You stole.
You told me cursing was a sin;
You cursed.
You told me dishonoring my country was a sin;
You dishonored my country.
You told me to keep my promises;
You didn’t.
You told me to live by the Golden Rule;
You didn’t.
You told me to be careful of the company I keep;
You aren’t.
You told me to help those poorer than I;
You don’t.
You told me to be an example to youth;
You aren’t.
A question arises, by and by;
Is everything you said a big lie?

Don't give me kind words,
If you're gonna break all the rules.
I'd rather the harsh roads,
Than flourish feelings against fumes.

Did I read the signs all wrong?
I swear I heard you call me love.

It's easier to suffer in silence than trying to explain the extent of the pain.
English translation :  A conspiracy  of silence
It's more beautiful in French
You are a woman
who sleeps under sheets
Not meant to caress your body

dancing beneath the moonlight
interlocked in hands
with a man
who comes home
to someone elses voice
singing
“darling I missed you”

yet you crave loyal love
when the only affection you ever sought
belonged to another woman’s heart

feeling no remorse
until the man you love
hides his admiration
for someone else’s touch

It's one after another
Big business on parade
Groveling before Congress about all the loot they made
Millions upon millions on the backs of you and me
Hurting all of us, not just metaphorically

Then there is Congress, passing laws for the rich
And the mighty corporations, how I wish
We had in real life, Jimmy Stewart's Mr. Smith

At least Elizabeth Warren is out there kicking ***
And thank God, we've still got a free press
Exposing the dishonesty, e.g. arbitration is very bad
And old Bernie sure raised a ruckus, it's not over yet

Still, I have hope, I love the USA
So full of character and characters
What did that candidate say?
Vote your conscience (and your intellect) come Election Day
We the people will finally get to play
Oh yeah, and for real, God bless each of you today.

For You

This is for the dishonesty you showed me.
the aches you gave me.
the tears I’ve cried.
this is for the fear you thought you put in me.
this is for the beating I gave,
to myself.
This is for the deliverance from a demon.
this is for the forgiveness
that I have within me
and tears of joy
it brought me.
this is for the love
that freed
me
I try;
with my little lie,
to make
a subtle adjustment
to reality.
A slight hue
of the untrue.
Coloured just
to suit me.

It's only one
little fraction
of the larger whole.
Surely that's worth
the loss of a little soul?

are
the
pulchritudinous
flowers
seeded
in
the
garden
of
lies

Little Mistress of Disguise
She runs and runs and always hides
When she talks, she tells you lies
She never looks you in the eyes

You never know what lies within
It may be pure, it may be sin
She might be looking through that door
She might be listening through the floor

Little Mistress of Disguise
O, how she says such pretty lies!
Pretty lies about the world
Pretty lies to all she's told

Through this let you listen be
A person of pure honesty
Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry
Is never good in redundancy
Not if you can do it right
Do it right in every plight
Do it right and then you'll see
The truth behind her mystery
Written about a year ago. This poem is meant to awaken those being subjected to deception, to open their eyes and make them warier of their interactions. FZT
