Lightning snaps and rain applauds
as thunder claps above horizons’ walls
Grumbling clouds march swiftly on
to booming sounds and cracks of dawn —
Here below, in the cockpit of storm,
the rain now sows blue jewels that form
on an old rose’s petals and thorny stalks
to test the mettle of the bugs that walk
up and down their rosebush world
that’s becrowned by blossoms, red unfurled:
One bug, aloof, sits calm and at peace
under his roof of a sturdy green leaf —
This one bug that I see amidst all the gloom
is who I wish to be, under red blooms
Had very stormy weather and I was watching a rosebush in our garden be swayed by the storms. I imagined being a bug on the rosebush and came up with this.
I can feel it in my soul,
a ripple stirring within.
In the deepest crevice,
there's a whisper trying to shout, "It is done!"
So why should I waver?
That storm has passed, and the sea is calm.
I watch the sun descend in a quiet declaration of what’s to come,
its golden light and gentle embers painting promises.
These BEAUTIFUL NIGHT SKIES are
so CALM and SERENE,
so PEACEFUL AND QUIET,
like a MOON LOVERS
SWEET DREAM!!!
The DARK SHEETS of
NIGHT, gives to us
DELIGHT,
of the TWINKLING
STARS that light
up the DARK NIGHT!!!
The STARS ALL DANCE,
In the sky of GLOOM,
Then comes
the ILLUMINATION,
of a BRIGHT LIT MOON!!

I’ll rewrite myself
My mind,
My soul.
Anything for those
Of which I must atone.
Erasing my music,
My art,
My poems.
All to satisfy
The ones who don’t care.
My "friends" were hating on my taste in everything today and I lashed out. I wrote this poem to help me calm down.

In the hum drum and the toil
In the itch of daily life
As we each till our own soil
Carefully avoiding each others' strife
We go to and fro enjoying
The comfort of monotony
And take pride in our employing
The right of autonomy

We take little heed of shadows
And the artwork they display
Or the fluffiness of clouds
As they drift along their way
We forget to thank our knees
As we bend to take a seat
Or admire the flowing streams
In the hardwood beneath our feet

It takes substantial effort
To see the inches in the miles
But there's something striking in them
That I think you'll find worthwhile
Take notice of the details
Don't be blind to little things
When life feels all too big
Just practice noticing
I've found this makes my life feel much less chaotic. Noticing details helps ground me, make me more thankful, and helps me realize the insignificance of most of my problems. Haha.

I stay silent
Too often my own words betray me entirely
I keep quiet
To eliminate any possibly of my past tracking me
Must calm the riot
Internal conflict in turn turns reality iffy
Must stay strategic
My mind gets creative trying to beat me down completely
Can't be complacent
Not while losing my footing on this plain of reality
There's no enjoyment
Living with a cranium teetering on the brink of insanity
Fear becomes a constant
So it never occurred to me these walls shouldn't be up permanently
I remain hesitant
When there's no certainty I can take down these walls safely

If only I didn’t care!
I could float through life unaware
I could spend my hours on practical things
Without wasting time, pursuing the truth.

If only I didn’t care!
I could ignore the annoyances, anger
Would be a far-off imagining.
The world would be gentler, muted
Peaceful, calm, and placid.

If only I didn’t care!
I could lose the bright contrasts and
Colors and flaws that make me
Who I am.
Ah, perfection always
Looks the same, no?

If only I didn’t care!
It would all be so easy.
It would all be so easy and
Dull.

After years of turmoil and deception
Of another’s making,
Finally comes peace of mind.
How glorious
That
stillness
sounds.

I like to sit beneath my open-aired pergola,
That I may listen to the gentle
Pitter-patter of rain droplets
Softly colliding against the aluminum,
While the wettened ground breathes, and
Fills the air with a delightful
Earthy fragrance.
