Hugs and kisses,
for my princess,
on this Tuesday morning.

I hope your sleep,
was sweet and deep,
without my awful snoring.

If I was there,
I'd stroke your hair,
And stare with eyes adoring.

We'd lay and talk,
I'd joke, you'd squark,
both, between our yawning.
Closed blinds
And morning breeze
I don’t want to leave here.
The sun beckons me to rise
Demanding an awakening
But I am not there yet,
Heart still heavy
From carrying grief
Eyes still burning
From drowning in acidic tears
Lungs still weak from suffocating between each breath
Throat still coarse from the cry of
“Abba please, take my life.”
If I rise,
I am sure to face it again.
And it will have its way
With my body,
Screaming and crying a horrific noise,
Falling to the floor as everything inside of me seems to shatter,
Like broken glass being crushed
all over again.
And I will wait there
Curled on the floor
Until it is done leaving its mark.
Then I will stand up
To finish the routine
Wash my face
Put on a smile
And move on with the day.
Heaviness used to find me at night
But now I arise and find
It is in my bones
And under my skin
With me every place I go.
So I would rather lay here
Silent and broken,
Defeated and unarmed
Surrendered to these bed sheets
And white walls
Than to face the fight
Against the darkness
That kills me piece by piece.
For there may come a day
When there is nothing left it can take,
And it will have all of me.
So there will be no fight today
As if being paralyzed was a choice
Under the weight of a pain
So heavy.
So I let it stay
And roll to the other side,
Away from the light
Pull the covers a little closer
Take another deep breath
Close my eyes
And wait for tomorrow.
Growly Wolfus Aug 2019
He lurks in the shadows.  He burns in the light.
It seems he can feel nothing.
He is silent and stays out of sight.
He's hiding from something.
He cannot touch us and feeds off our dreams.
He haunts us in our sleep.
He is not as evil as he seems.
Our happiness, he keeps.

He has crab-like legs and glowing eyes,
his hands and claws like cages,
his tail with feather ends raised high,
he's been here throughout the ages.
His ears are sharp.
He can hear every whisper.
He has a good heart
and's a wonderful listener.
He has a large mouth with four fangs.
He's a shadow in the night.
Under my bed, he lingers, he hangs.
Only for me will he fight.

People I tell of him say it's all lies.
They never believe when I say he is real.
We're friends, and in dreams, we sail all the skies.
I made him a promise. I intend to keep our deal.

He says little now as a voice in the shadows.
He guides me to the light.
He holds me up when I feel powerless.
The monster in the night.
I must go now.  I made a vow to leave.
He'll take me away with him.
I'm escaping this world for another, you see.
He's taking me to them.

He's here...
                                             ...and he's waiting.
This is honestly, one of my favorite story poems.  Read it as if you are a child.
Go back to being naive and curious.  It'll impact you all the more.  Escape into another world.

Every night
I stare at those bed sheets
Where you once lay,
I don't know what went wrong.
Why are we going through this?

Why you did to me is unforgettable
But what I did is unforgivable,
I fell for you.
Those nights,
When we used to stay up the whole night
Just to enjoy each other's company
Now have become memories,
Hardened at the back of my throat
And drops from my eyelid.

I guess I'll blame myself,
For I wished a love so deep,
That I didn't even think of consequences.
-Ikigai Poet
Love; a consequence
roses are bed Aug 2019
So often we see this colorful world in black and white; not out of generalization, but because we are curious of what’s beneath.

Beneath the gradients are newfound knowledge, for knowledge is comfort;

but beneath the blankets of recollection is a restless soul tugging away at the sun;

beneath ourselves lay vessels of blood connecting a sea of conscience;

beneath the tides an equal and opposite wave, pulsing through the veins of dimensions and forces beyond our grasp,
a testimony of the indescribable unknown.

Through curiosity we become overwhelmed, and do not wish to know more than what we can see.

So yes we generalize.
Funny how duality works.

Bed
Lying inside my bed,
floating in hell,
trying to burn my boots off
this unearthly smell

Thank you for caring about me,
but I can only hear myself

All your voices
sound like construction noises,
I'm trying to talk with the devil

Just give me a second,
I'll come back to the table,
to eat with you all,
so that life's all good and stable

Monsters never find peace in the bed
but in your head.

Demons will hurt you only if you allow them to do so.

my legs are tangled in the safety of yours
my head rests on your rising chest pulling me out of the cold chaos
my hair is calmed by the gentle breeze of your breath
my hand grips yours, pulling me out of the ruthless clutches of thought and depression
my mind is steady, smoothy sailing upon the eventide
so I sleep with the lights off

my legs are tangled in the sheets dangling into the deep vastness of my bed
my head rests on a pillow keeping me just above the course chaos of comforter
my hair is a delicate mess thrown about the dauntless duvet
my hand intertwines the blanket, a desperate grip for salvation
my mind wonders into the murky abyss of eventide
so I sleep with the lights on
