Theses on species
and their feces,

people ******* and *******,
Bukowski sneers and spits.

A cycle traversing through time
unbroken and unchallenged,

meaningless,

thoughtful yet dubious
of their divinity,

if any at all.

My head tangled up in
knots I just can't hide,
they can never crawl out of my mouth,
the words I say feel like a draft,
a draft of my mask uncurling
but there is a time where
all my monsters come out to play;
they've learned to swim in my craft...
don't you know hurt stains a person
the same way a permanent marker
stains skin?
I cannot keep this masked
habitat within me.
Time to tear apart the veils
before Anti declares me its bride
and when the sun goes to sleep
behind a curtain of black sky,
I'll survive, I'll survive
Resist the pull to the other side.

It's been a decade since i’ve seen my beloved… the last time was bittersweet. You left me blue like clouds ******* the hue out of the sky, and releasing warm rain that purifies the unclean. I smelled the rain. I bathed in the burning cleanse that gave me life. My life.. like a blanket of recycled cloths, patched together with fraying threads.
I was Cleo, and you were Osiris… I broke the bulb and bursted the light, and awoke in your darkness. Your darkness that I could taste like ****, sweet, somber lollipops from the waiting room of your fortress.
I can still feel the crevices of your patterned finger tips grazing the edges of my blue aura… I vibrated in your presence and just like that, we were one, together at last without life to tell us how to live… We didn’t need to live. When our lips fell dry of all conflict, you used to say to me… “There is no hell… but the afterlife is blue”
Sometimes now i float through time as if it’s a shopping outlet invaded by stores I have no interest in, striding down the pavement with no intention of absorbing my surroundings… no intention of acknowledging this measurement that tells me the answer of “when”.
You were just a color to me… Once I was a yellow daisy and you were a green machine that kicked and screamed… But once we danced together… we turned blue.
I am not blue because I am depressed, foreboding, or desperate… I’m blue because all I embody is myself, as this colorful existence. You were you, too.. and you were so blue. Your palace was nothing but a blue dream in a blue burst of my thoughts… and your memory was nothing but the smell of blue… then some day suddenly, I smelled nothing at all.

“If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is - infinite.”
― William Blake*

.
In this room
Drowning,
In ocean flesh,
Our days, replay,
With eyes cut
Out under sheet
Of stars.  All is
Not real, screened
For a soul, lost
On the dry lands
We bury ourselves
In.

      One day we shall
Wake into the sun,
And bathe in the light
Of unbridled constellation
And voids deeper than
Life, holy and actual
Like drowning flesh,
Come, alive in sky,
Lit by eternal sheen,
Lost memories, grace,
Being burn, new sparkle,
Cast to air, as embers preen.
“In the universe, there are things that are known, and things that are unknown, and in between, there are doors.”
― William Blake

You could say it's
all in my head,
it doesn't exist,
just a result of
a hope that persists
but,

There's got to be
something better than this..
Were humans and the world
just dropped and born
out of nowhere,
just to be dumped in eternal misery?
And if angels exist, where
do you think they live?
Not in the air or else
we'd be breathing them in constantly.

The afterlife exists
even for disbelievers,
Some call it Heaven,
some call it Hell...
What will it be?
Only dying will tell.

He was so old his bones seemed to swim in his skin.
And when I took his hand to feel his pulse
I felt myself drawn in.  It was as faint
as the steps of a child
padding across the floor in slippers,
and yet he was smiling.
I could almost hear a river
running beneath his breath.
The water clear and cold and deep.
He was ready and willing to wade on in.

I'm going to hold onto my birth certificate
like my mother holds onto receipts

and when I write my last rent check
addressed to whomever lives upstairs

I'll knock on the door

and when they open
I'll kindly flash them the paper
which never expires
and I'll ask
for a refund

and they'll say "No,"
"We only accept exchanges,"

and then I think I'll believe in reincarnation.

from a world of shadows
there once was a girl
with tulips for eyes
and dandelion curls -
when crowds softly wept
her colors unfurled;
for she held onto strength,
not onto the world.
For my beautiful friend. Cancer *****. I love you.

When my time finally arrives,
Finality holds no surprise;
But please remember
To close my eyes,
Shut my mouth,
End my lies.
Lace polished shoes
On my feet,
Cross my hands
Upon my chest,
Comb my hair,
Let me rest.
And tell the truth
When you speak.

(and if it's not an imposition,
lay me in the right position)

Dispense with the hyperbole,
There's hell to pay,
I assure you.

When I was young once my pastor taught
The tale Genesis, how God with care
Unto hard clay breathed conscious thought.
As the wind would blow I’d say a prayer
And feel His breath, the hot gust of air
The trees that swayed were His great chest
The leaves that fell were kissed and blessed.
I spread my arms towards the sky
And knew He could make me fly.
I closed my eyes, and on tip-toe
Soared high to heavens, earth below.
Far above the pale green pastures
And winding roads, filled with rapture
I saw where the path would end,
What the course of life would lend.
Unchained and free, I knew at last
What shores we'd reach, when we are passed.
Our clumsy bodies tie us down,
But souls are free, and never bound.
And as the day faded to night
I had to end my sacred flight
Fall back to earth, where reason rules
Where those who soar
Are simple fools.
