catch a feather
predict the weather
at least that's what my mama said
so I put to bed my doubts
and I told the birds my troubles instead

All is over,
when silence falls upon you
when silence deafens you
and no voice can be reached
when the crashing of waves settles
and the raging storm in your mind bids you
farewell
when your heart becomes heavy
you'll realize your mistake
that the words you chose were venomous
and the situation wasn't all bad
yet you allowed your emotions to possess your tongue
and carve it into a double-edged sword
guard thy tongue with discretion
for it can end everything
A lot of people in life will say
You owe them everything
You have because they helped
You get to where
You are.
Those are the kind of people
that have never been put in check.

So always make it clear,
Never get it twisted:
Help should always be charitable.
Help comes from the heart
of a humanitarian
and not that of a businessman.
Help is Help,
not a bartering tool.

chi cammina la notte
combatte la morte

Translation:

whoever walks in the night
fights with death

These were wise words shared by my father and his father before him. May God rest their souls.

sometimes in life, change is inevitable.
i've learned over my 17 years
to let the fire ravage rather than to fight it.
let it set things anew, and be done with it.
when the sun finally shines through the ashes,
plant an orchid and move on.

and remember to smile more, it fits you.

I remember running my hands through your hair, and wanting to lean down to kiss you.

I remember how badly my hands shook after our first kiss, and wanting nothing more than to do it agian.

I remember there was a time when my hands couldn't hold yours, and I never want to go back.
I'm wanting to give this poem as a aniversery gift. Any grammer, spelling or other advice is appreciated.
hear, hear
through your skull
stuffed with thick tears
