She was fruity,
     subtle aromas
fermented from her.

Watering her own garden.
                 but never letting
other taste her fruits.

Even though she was seeded
           with much delicate tastes
no other would pick upon them.

She wasn't *****,
        wanting the right person
to pick her seed and let it blossom.

The sky is a face full of freckles
My face is the sky
My arms extensions of the universe full of dotted lines
I look up and see myself, see my limbs stretch over the earth
Those freckles tell stories
Some have faded into the past
Others getting brighter before dimming out
As I get older the sky seems bigger
But it also seems more empty
Whole constellations clouded from view
No pictures to see
No movies on screen
My north star facing precession
And zodiacs shifting
The sky is a face
And my face is the sky
The sky is always changing
But still a star am I

You creatures of the quiet ponds
who swim unseen among the fronds
lift your flagella, join the song,
rejoice, for you are known.

You crickets, dragonflies, and bees
who dwell in grass and boughs of trees
raise now your buzzy symphony,
rejoice, for you are known.

You song sparrow and hermit thrush
who hide amid the forest brush
sing out and fill the evening hush,
rejoice, for you are known.

You people weary, sad, and small
who fill the street and shopping mall
take heart and praise him, one and all,
rejoice, for you are known.

I read a stack of psychology books
When my mind went off the tracks
Now I’m but a therapist
With a knapsack on my back

I’ve gone my way a wandering
Through the depths of misery
I come from Babylonia
With a Bible Belt
Whipping me

Borne of milk and honey
The hungry heart is doomed
Ate my cake and ice cream
Everything I could consume

Now I’m old and thirsty
Setting at this ***** bar
Looking for a meaning
Of life as yet so far

I wait all day,
I sleep all night.
I like to play.
I do not bite.

I'm your best friend,
I'm here for you.
I will defend
you through and through.

I have four legs.
I'm big and small.
I can be scary
or not at all.

You know me best.
I know you too.
I do what you ask.
because I love you.

When I'm older,
my life all spent,
I'll wish for more
than I could give.

For a new friend
who will love you
and be loyal
like I was to you.

Until that day,
I'll be your friend.
I will stay true,
until the end.
For all beloved pets.

We never got to Bermonsey
But we travelled quite a way
You took the hands of
A fragile girl, her heart in dismay.

Her fingers lay quite broken
The nails white as snow
Rubbed them both with tenderness
The best that you know.

Out of your pocket
You took a golden star
And placed it in her heart
So that she should smile.

You sent her a love song
To help her spirits fly
Always remember
Beautiful Jonny wild.
Thank you John for all your poems and care for me .Mary

You'd prefer each part of me open
With only one exception, my mouth
Unless moaning and gasping from your touch
Or intending to gratify and satisfy you
But I do not owe you my body just because
You'd like to have your hands all over it
Well you should go and find a person who
Sees life in a similar way that your eyes do

You'd like me a lot better without closed legs
I'd like you a lot better without a closed mind.

it's time
to face some things
and move on

it's time
to let go
of what hurts

i am
who i am
and i am not
who i was

i am
human
i am not
who you
wanted me
to be

and it's time
to figure out
why
it still hurts

why i'm
crying

why i can't
let go

it's time
to remember

to become
fully who i
am and not
who i learned
to be in
self defense

with eyes
watching me

but i've never been so
scared of feeling better

And when I wake
to the many thoughts
in the dark of night
your name brings
light to my eyes
