Waiting for the darkness
Just before the dawn
Faint light peeks through
The overnight curtain
Silhouette of the night
Takes form
At the touch of crimson rays
Magic unfolds on the canvas
Ether rejoices with a glow
As night metamorphoses
To a bright new dawn
Sun, a sparkling solitaire
On the most precious ring
Ready to slip onto the fingers
Of the blushing bride
The wait is over
For the day has come
To spread happiness galore
A crowning glory
With awe, the world watches
I applaud at the spectacle
Of the most gorgeous day
Brings new hope
Sprinkled with sweet dew
It’s a shimmering sight

Along the corridors
Of oblivion
Footsteps are not heard
Voices are stifled
Presence, like an apparition
Seen through
Glares of the outside world
Creates an inferno
Only ashes, of your times
Even the clock’s hands
Are too hot to touch
Pushed into oblivion
Crushed by fate
Only you and yourself
Not one hand
To pull you toward the future
From the present
Odd predicament

Scanning the landscape
Breathtaking aerial view
Soaring above, higher
Regal wingspan
Dreams are made of this
Flight of fancy
Living the dream
Born feeble
Yet, soars higher
Dodging the clouds
And kissing the blue
Formations so exquisite
Across the ether
Wish I had
Wings to fly

Poet lives in his words
A part of his soul
Written across paper
Ink that flows
Bleeding the poet’s heart
Poetry holds life

Don’t walk out on love
When it comes knocking
Leaving the door ajar
Arms akimbo
Elbowing out the vibes
Every chamber of the heart
Filled with spurn
Verbal volleys
Destroying the core of love
Fueled with disgust
Love burns
In agony is the heart
The messenger of love
Knocked at the wrong door
With the right message
To the incorrect address
Destiny plays foul
Before it’s late
Desolate becomes the house
Only regret!

Lure of lust
Love’s lost
Burning passion
Cinders remain
Heart’s remnants

There was the flickering flame
At the corner of the room
Used to be bright, once upon
Wick is running out of time
Till it burns away, forever
Soot of yesteryear
And the blackened walls
Hand-prints left on them
Last remains of glowing days
Flame becomes shorter
Fumes of last breath
Choking the lungs
Guiding hands
Shall keep the flames alive
From the gusty winds
For how long
Before it extinguishes
Fading away to the darkness
