Good things fall apart which
makes room for the
better.
Something I've learned about relationships - platonic and romantic.
I've had alot of fallouts with 'good' people only to be paired with FAR better ones.
These things do take time. For a long time, I was paranoid about who I can/can't trust (tbh, I still am. It's not something you quickly get over) but hey, I've made better friends in a long run and they sure as hell aren't toxic!

Be back soon!
(A goal of mine is to get my Lessons Learned collection up to 100 at least!)

This one's for Maya
Monolith of the black voice
much love rest in peace

All life is sacred
I dare not cage the sweet birds
because of their songs

The cage is a veil
Watch bejewelled hands touch and play
the sleek piano

The bird trills in sync
ivory and ebony
now weep of lost dreams

As we humans laugh
eating sweetmeats from rose-bowls
and drink mead from glass

~  ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ ~

Birds look to the sky
How she yearns to ride the wind
soar and touch the sky

But it is a dream
She is caged by luxury
by rich human glee

None dare lift her veil
She eats and sings, it fools them
But her soul it aches

She knows they see her
Broken in all her beauty
Her mistake not theirs

All life is sacred
I dare not cage the sweet birds
because of their songs

This series of haikus is dedicated to one of my literary heroes, the late Maya Angelou.

I've often dreamed of being a free bird, wanting to travel to world, but I suppose the most beautiful things live difficult lives. And in day to day life, the word 'free', I find to be illusory...

Sometimes you don't know how brave
you can be till there is no choice
but to be.
As scary as the world is, we all have to be brave.

it's been ages since I did a Learned Learned poem!
Be back soon!

Tedious autumn
A weary tiger sleeps on
by the golden pond
Another old haiku.

Dear ribbons of waterflame,
                       gold, green and blue
                swathes itself around my palms,
                                                            becoming
a ball of radiant waters that floats in
cupped hands and at the thought of
love, it buds and curls like a lily's
petal
       and
             the years of hushed times
eat at my very soul, nulling
                      deafening me to the music
                             of the mint-dark sky,
                                of the flame-thorn sun
                          of the bone-white stars
My feet are kissed by the
            star-studded shores, washing,
       relieving the
  fragments of my shattered
past
I keep the shell of my hope
  shielded
in my *****, near the heart
        My eyes dancing zultanites
With my gaze on the horizon
                   rise the clouds of trouble
How long will I plan to thrive
when I am but a shrinking violet
            cold, iced with scorn
          but
I am the Mistress of Waterflame
    Daughter of the Mers
and
  Scion of the Dragon Line

So blood will bend and billow
         like flowers
So fits the one of the skies and sea
             An expert who delivers in
        the trade of
    death

But the hope in my ***** pulses
      As my bloodlust evulses

As I dream of the warmth that will soothe my weary
This poem is basically a continuation of my old poem 'Drift'
'Whispers' speaks to me.
It's a statement, a proud affirmation that I'm not ashamed to have my head in the clouds.
For the world is too harsh...

Society now
Judges you by your cover
Not by your content

There is emphasis
Solely on our outer look
Never inner growth

It is further proof
The one who's truly ugly
is society
Society and its need to focus on outer beauty...

Music is my soulfood
Music is my daily wine
Though aged, it never loses
its succulent taste.
I don't really listen to nowaday music. Even if I do, it's very few. If the 'music's has crude words, promoting ***, drugs and violence, it's not music to me.
