"disparaging" poems
The first comment I received a **** you" with a smiley face I laughed off wouldn't you? Kind of crazy kind of creepy put it away as some one we all know. The second comment came with the usual language refrain I was a "hack" my words were "dreck". The disparaging words about my dead mother gave me pause to reflect. The third comment and more began to recall information of past faux pas secret affairs one or two personal pecadillos never mentioned beyond the dialogues in my mind. Embarrassing I know. I, of course, went to the home page to see if it was someone known to me. No identifying data but a picture I remembered vaguely from a past I didn't know. The trolling continued relentless I would say pulled the plug put up a block but wouldn't you know The comments continued to come into my dreams brutal criticism of every move I made the day finally arrived when I realized Alter personalities were shedding off of me like psychological psoriasis They were hitting the ground running I was finding poems I didn't remember writing clothes I never bought People kept hugging me I had never met before they knew me far to well called me many names none of which were mine. The silence of my nights were broken when I found myself in my car on Highway 101 returning from where I did not know with a smile on my face illegal drugs in my pocket. How did I get here? How did we get there? Where are we now? Another account opened on Hello Poetry with an anagram of my name. I find my days getting shorter and shorter it became clear I had become the dream The others had become me.

Or ultimately we all fall down
1. The Race Card: Whether it be in suggesting that anyone who doesn’t vote for him because he is black is probably a republican, or in blaming Bush administration racism on a slow response to Hurricane Katrina, Obama is quite comfortable playing the race card. 2. Anti-Indian: After the Obama campaign released a paper disparaging other candidates for their ties to the Indian-American community, the chairman of the bipartisan US India Political Action Committee, Sanjay Puri, stated that the Obama Campaign was “engaging in the worst kind of anti-Indian American stereotyping.” Of course, Obama denied any hand in the racist document put out by his campaign. 3. Corrupt Buddies: Tony Rezko, a long time friend and fund-raiser for Obama, was indicted last fall on federal charges that accuse him of demanding kickbacks from companies seeking state business. When asked about his friend, Obama said, “I’ve never done any favors for him.” This turned out to be a lie, as evidence turned up proving that Obama had written letters to city and state officials praising Rezko’s business practices. 4. Wal-Mart Ties: While bashing of Wal-Mart’s labor practices in public, Obama has been profiting from their business through the money his wife made as a member of the board of directors for a company that produces food for the mega-corporation. 5. Religious Ties: Is Obama a Muslim? Is he a Christian? Nobody is 100% sure, but it is true that Obama was raised in a Muslim family and at one time attended an Islamic school. He currently claims to be a convert to Christianity, but some are concerned about his Muslim upbringing. 6. Anti-Second Amendment: Obama is one of the most anti-Second Amendment legislators in the country. He supports a ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons. 7. Gas-guzzler: Obama might attack American automakers for not making enough environmental friendly automobiles, but when he goes home he drives a gas-guzzling V-8 hemi-powered Chrysler 300. 8. Obama Ringtones: The most annoying campaign tool ever. 9. Obama Girl: I take back what I said about the ringtones. This girl is far more annoying. 10. His Unelectable Name: Barack Hussein Obama, ’nuff said.

I, He
Alas, awakened to the glorious smell Of grieving petrichor and lichen Intoxicating scents of spells, Has left my thoughts forsaken. Aggrieved, unclean, I wash myself in the river, Alone again, once with my mind, The cold water does bring a quiver. Rushing gently across its bend, Its current does drag along A heartache inside a massive depth, A misery that floods it anon. It seeks to help wash stains of past, Blood from mistakes without thought, Caressing my hands as I dip them in, It cleans at the souls I’ve wrought. I’ve brought spite to all I’ve been, I bathe in hatred and stigmata, Correctional growth of paradigmatic folly, Proves equality to tumultuous fodder. - There has been death here, Drowning and sickness, Villainous nature subjugated To corruption and bleakness. Disparaging remarks whispered of men, Bring to light lost life and love, Discouraging thoughts of mine herein, Anticlimactic and soulless above. The trees began to whisper, Moving slightly in the breeze, I thought I would move quicker, But something that couldn’t trapped me. - Bringing about a fallout cloud That kept my mind thus smoked, It is hard to cherish anything That the water itself could soak. - I wanted to leave, But I was locked in the wood, I began to need it, Like any Stockholm would The treasure trove in which I was kept, Was something of a fairy-tale It hid monsters, death, And only one nightingale. Its swansong allowed me to sleep, Gorgeous at night, it cast in weep, A story of one so scared, The fear of bleeding out One day upon the growing creep. Vines and lies surrounded me, Its whole existence was false, Nothing could be this natural, And the dead forest scoffed. - Could there be someone else here? Doubtful, I began my search, Through vasts I spied, time again, But nothing upon this earth. The forest fell in love with my heart, Its emotions curious to her, She tortured me with affection, My reality was blurred. I found my way across her floor, Trekking miles to a never-end., Purgatory does not know this pain, Hopeless abandon, fell unto myself to fend. A trip, a fall, unique and random, I impaled myself with a sharp cry, A sharp palisade jutting out, I then whispered “What if I don’t want to die?”

Have you heard the words spoken by the ocean, when the cliff tops call its name with disparaging diatribe? And how do you fare as the undulating waves tell tales of a million generations of fish? I sat there as the days wore on like so many jazz men beating holistic drums and blowing those crazy brass horns as if possessed by the demons of some ancient tribe way out in the Kalahari, masked by the illuminating stares of wonderment and the children in the darkened bar, silent, speculating. I see the waning wood through magnificent trees, behemoths in the dusk skies. I see the ground too, for it is stable and true. As true as one could attest to its objectivity, I often ponder the relevance of truth and whether the whole concept is but a twisted lie fed by the men before us. Quite cruel these thoughts, and barely worthy of the hours I waste. The ocean too speaks truth but its truth is one I have faith in. Sure as I am, sitting here, witnessing the waves as they mourn the changing sands and the rubble they sift, sure as I am, that the gently faltering ripples will retreat before attacking the shore once more. I am sure of these acts, as I am sure that I will die with laughter on my lips and a tear in my eye. Take your water and let it flow through the bodies of man, take it, take it and do good. Let those clear drops circulate and bring about true knowledge in one and all. Let your rocks fall to the ground, erosion of the city and decay of the populace. Let them fall with dignity, while we scream from the Atlantic and feel tumultuous waves of apathetic foreboding ripple into our skin and bring us to ****** These rocks in the sea, these rocks in you… and in me. Has the land seen distress like its inhabitants, or have they been the harbingers of such malcontent abuse to these fare isles? Have you, You, have you seen the sea when its tranquil repose turns to solemn spite at the ego of the cliff face? I have heard the ocean speak, and it told me to fall to its mercy and ebb into the unified conscious. Have you heard the words spoken by the ocean, or do you too stand with your back to the truth and one leg bowed cocksure over the top of some deteriorating construct?

With Softly Spoken Words and a Wandering Eye, The Tide Will Confide and Reveal Unto You The Truth
Never settle for the "intellectually inferior" term, you're better than that. Never fall victim to the excuse of, "because you're black" Who's to say that your sophisticated & perspicacious approach to life should be ignored because of the color of your skin? It's the small minded stereotypes of society that should motivate you to procure the win. I only wish that when it came to this situation, some were as stubborn & reluctant as me. But history has chained their way of thinking & stung them with society's mockery. Never settle for social inequality or the disparaging jabs because of your nationality or the color of your skin. Be a proud, successful, sagacious, astute, intellectually advanced being overdosed with melanin.

Never Settle...
I am a writer. One who can close myself away into a small dimly lit space and gush life onto an insubstantial substance of fibrous material..in hopes that once finished..reads of something that makes sense and releases a tad of this confined fury..that whirls in my ever churning mind. I am a Dreamer. A human born into disparaging circumstances, that grasped for anything tangible, as early as I can possibly recollect. With a never ending desire to find truth and love beyond the abuse that I endured throughout all of my childhood..Determined to view life..clear of the filters embedded over my eyes, attempting to force my mind to function through the inherited dysfunction. I am a Lover. Believing in a Love so genuine, that it literally heals all human afflictions . Investing in a hope in all things soulful and lucid. Craving to Love free of the bounds thought fathomable, truly devoting to other souls..the most valuable asset - Time - and desirous to Lead with Love in every moment. I am a Writer.

On the edge of the Milky Way, way, way out in space There's this planet called Earth; we've all heard of this place A place where all the inhabitants are a complete disgrace They allow millions to starve, while a few stuff their face And no matter the size of their knowledge base They can never understand one another and begin to efface With their swords, knives, guns, bullets and bombs all apace They will soon go at one another in a nuclear arms embrace They have the ability to end themselves in one last Coup de Grace ....and with disparaging tones, we call them, the human race

akin to sewer grates seeping toxic gas, a friend to deadly smog, and bad attitudes, a product of waste, between holes in the lime sandstone occasionally silenced by commuting feet, disparaging their accidental charity, retaliating with lethal fluid those feet then fleet from, all the while wondering why they can't bear the stench

Just when we thought this place couldn't get any more depressing, a detriment of inadequacy ensues, and the following hour is spent beneath a paled, frosted-blue canvas, atop a frigid construct of tether, and steel. BUT! As quickly as the dystrophy settled within minds scarcely caressed by hallowed slumber, a frail, yet, intensifying light erupts from the faded line that separates reality from ethereality. As this newly self-empowered hero of the day ceases the boundless tundra overhead with a golden fluorescence of warmth, and rapture, still, ever-trifling is the southern counterpart. HARK! From out of the myriad sheets of thundercloud gray, laced with veins of majestic purple, and glazed with the ensemble of over-ripened peaches that blanket the northern skies of this dawning day spawns a duet of our mothers' most sacred creation. HOW MAGNIFICENT! This spectrum couplet that champions the veil, extruding their way out from the darkest, most steadfast regions of our Terran celestial. Betwixt these valours, who stand as beacons of glory in these most disparaging of times, dance a flock of little black and white birds, unveiling to our starving eyes, ever so eager to feast- their autumn courtship that, in its own wonderment, was that of a silent symphony. LO! For many a fort night, we have gazed upon naught but soot-black sand, sun-bleached dirt, and endless foliage, who's lives have been bled dry long before even our first wave achieved boots on ground. And even as the sun rose higher, relieving the quietus night to nothing but a faded memoir, so, too, these masters of vibrancy shall fade. BUT! Even in their last moments of glory, they triumphed as heralds, mutely evoking a message that said: *'Even at our final breaths, we shall stand as strong as we did when She first employed us into Her heavens. And until we are completely vanquished, never; never shall we falter.'*

Staying in character playing the charade disparaging inheritor of decisions that were made Sticking to the act keep up the appearance less and less intact searching for coherence As a strong minded exterior veils a war torn landscape within all motives seem ulterior in a game not meant to win Trying to drown demons clawing at the back of my mind between dreaming and seething middle ground is hard to find above the watermark where the fluid seeps through the cracks of this overused shell a little bit of heaven above a vast infinite hell

A Different Kind of Listless
Secrets drowning in blood          steeped depictions, cunningly smothered   of familial tied executions, heredity oft an unkind      sacramental entanglement, deeply rooted in    disparaging divisions, disintegrated 'neath ashes       of unresolved deliverance

Blood Divisions
Cry not for what you do not have Bleed less for what is given, For the cruelty in your fellow man Will paint how greed is driven. The silent fields of Sobibor And Dachau's dull grey light, Pay testament to past largess In what is wrong and right. Conception's teeming contest Has dispensed your primal luck, Your greater expectations Have run, gratuitously, amok. For what you are is what you get This mirror's image barks, And delusional ostentatiousness Reinforces those remarks. Seek not the golden rainbow Nor pursue the greener field, For disaffected affectations Promise you a simple yield. Learn to love the skin you live in Irrespective of the warts, Live within your limitations Despite disparaging retorts. Count the blessings of the moment Take each small step at a time, Come to terms with who you are And you will find it all...sublime!. Marshalg @theBach 14 November 2009

To Love the Skin You Live In.
Great Britain, fantastic Britain, incredible Britain You're making me sad How many lives in the name, and religion how do you fare When parliament crumbles, like fantastic hash And the heroes are on ****** Dying in the street But are they heroes? Poor Britain, lonely Britain, disparaging Britain Your lights are all dim Atheist populace, defending Christian beliefs and shaming Islam with wild generalisations The BNP are a joke or a Greek tragedy and I laugh through acerbic tears It's pitiable Bleak Britain, brisk Britain, despairing Britain Are you happy with yourself? Fight in foreign lands, maim those trivial children and keep that payola rolling, we depend on death Complex industry, the military it is, and we follow Always follow, follow follow, follow Britain, Britain, Britain Blindly patriotic

Enlightenment in a Bottle, The Endless Cycle and a Unified Conscious
Before you know it, you'll find the sound of your roommate's voice while she's talking to her bestie on the phone to be a burgeoning wedge pushing you into retreat. The demands of your work schedule, the hours of studying to be done, the expectations of friends and lovers. They all crowd around you with their false promises of offering a new path, a light of some sort. But in reality they only hover over you with the disparaging lens of a magnifying glass, while blinding you with a searchlight intent on finding remnants of the person they once knew. The sun used to come through in patches and shine down on you in spontaneous beams, but now that flicker is gone. Now you cannot even remember what natural light looks like. You cannot see any path to what you once longed for. Your options and advances dissipate like a sugar cube resting on a tongue; the sweetness of solitude soon gone. This wall they have surrounded you with, under the pretense of comfort, has turned into a treacherous mistress. What was once the pillow that absorbed the weight of your head is now the force blocking your vision and airflow, as you suffocate underneath its weight in exchange. You'll find yourself cowering in a corner with a noose around your neck, the tension so strong that any attempt to move away will only sever your life as you know it. Any movement at all will only tighten the hold. So you must stand completely still.

Standing Still
On wet sand my own hand lethargically drags index nail into unplanned pierced hearts The deep blue babble froths disparaging echoes spume in unison moon lumen proffers effulgent glints of my own frame Imprecise recollections Intone lackadaisical exhalations Plunging my fist into the dune I seek shells to listen to mottled heart None found I drop my curls onto the punctured heart Listening to the ocean’s instead

Shell Pulse: She'll Pulse
Self deprecation: the act of reprimanding oneself by belittling, undervaluing, or disparaging oneself, or being excessively modest. It can be used in humour and tension release. It's a breath of fresh air to see someone whose ego isn't the size of a hot air balloon But maybe you shouldn't put yourself down so much Oh god, not this again It's not really funny anymore, it's just a bit sad Are you okay? That was a little dark Forgive me, I didn't realise you were allowed to express your emotions to me and not the other way around **God you really ******* it this time** -

Self deprecation
"...Love is more like war than a rose. They are both deceptively beautiful, But love spills more than just One drop of blood when it gets mishandled. And unlike a flower, love is resilient. It takes more than a few ****** battles Fought deep in muddy trenches To break the bond between two soldiers. Against all odds, love finds ways to survive Even the most disparaging circumstances..."
