Subdued and Seduced
Spirit and Breath of Life, whate'er Thy name! Bear with Thy creature, Man, That makes his dwelling-place a blot of shame Upon the Ordered Plan. Not Thy hand, O Divine Designer, hurled Athwart the starlit skies One blood-stained, greed-diseased, hate-eaten world, To shock celestial eyes. Not Thy default, O Beautiful, this crust Of fratricidal crime, These maggot-breeds of hunger and of lust That Thy fair work begrime. But ours, who mock Thee from the highest place, And in the light of day; Who claim to lead an upward-struggling race, And will not seek the way. Guards of the human birthright, at Thy call - A city sacked and burned; Guards of the house that is the home of all, But whence the weak are spurned. Brothers, to whom the outcast brothers cry As with a voice unknown; Stewards of Nature's bounty, that deny The lawful heirs their own. Thou that hast made us men, and earth so fair, To be so vilely used, Give space for late repentance and repair Of sacred trust abused. Give time, Eternal, that we stanch these tears, Give time to heal this sore, That our brief speck amid the shining spheres Disgrace its birth no more. But sail ethereal seas, an orb of light, To bear Thy purpose on Until it fades into the cosmic night Where the dead worlds have gone.

A Prayer
brewing potion with ritual reciting chants, merely verbal niching these little caviar a mixture of gravitas and war such ladle so long enough to combine a virgin's blood with a spoon of wine perhaps adding a buckskin would suffice this hellcat's hellacious bliss a bushel of a misogynist's intestine, must not forget to hitch gobs of sharks fin, augment a pair of an old man's sight then smatter the hogs' teeth bite sing song this dark lullaby you ought to hear plead and cry smell and smear this fatal brew any life it shall take and shoo death will come and it will reign blood will begrime and it will stain thoroughly toting the daring deathly hex seeking a prey who must be next

witching
Does society need a push to be made just, Can we not together find solutions set to last, Homelessness and poverty rife with shame, With people given numbers but no name. Are we so callous, blind and proud To block our ears from cries so very loud, Their wants and needs not our concern, As we shake our heads with gazes stern. Gone are the neighborhoods that kept us close, Replaced by ones which only inequalities expose, Gleaming steel towers where merely money speaks, Silent neighbors with no word spoken for countless weeks. Corporations filled with wanton greed, Blind to crippling poverty and need, Governments complicit in this crime Grasping for income all signs of morals they begrime. Solutions few, decisions hard, So many options by self-interest barred And yet in some humanity prevails, Providing sustenance that such humanity entails. To the rest of us, the watching masses, Idly gazing through rose colored glasses, The moment beckons for a society to heal, Lest that apathy our very soul forever steal.

Our Society must change
I bumped into you the other day   I still think I truly love you I thought the pain had gone away But I guess for my heart that's not true I have been with other guys since we've been apart But none of them seem to be like you We wanted the same things but then our river started to part And sometimes a river stays sliced in two Do you remember the tears left on my face? Do you remember all the broken promises we made? I try to hide it well behind this facade, certain I left no trace But I guess everything has an end, even a masquerade I don't know why I started to cry over you, is it maybe moving to Paris? Or maybe I just have so much yet to discover about who you are Maybe you're the brightest star, possibly my Polaris All I know is now you are just a memoir These mixed feelings seem to get the best of me But I know apart is when we are best You were a challenge that astonished me I've overcome the urge to pass the test To love is not the same as to be in love That's a lesson we have all learned over time I guess it's safe to say none of us were "in love" but more like for a moment we were each other's behove At least we didn't leave it on a note people could find begrime But does that seem right for you? I feel like it'll never be the case in my reality I really must speak with you, put on my high shoe Face you, and tell you how I really feel. Maybe then I'll reach proper mentality

Bumping into the past
My life was perfect from the very start So perfect—life imitating art Breezed through college effortlessly Dream job gift-wrapped just for me Perfect add-on to my fairy tale life Matrimony with the perfect wife Children followed, our perfect family None of this would have longevity (Chorus) Pleading with you to forgive me But there’s no forgiveness for the perfect A less than perfect man may fall 7 times But no forgiveness for the perfect On my knees begging for mercy But there is no mercy for the perfect They say a righteous man may fall 7 times But no forgiveness for the perfect Success was nearly at my finger tips Just couldn’t stop my lying lips Sought better living through chemistry Rushed headlong into calamity Took the deep dive into ***** & pills Steeped in debauchery to get more thrills Disregarded all the blessings in my life Pushed away my kids and wife (Chorus) Pleading with you to forgive me But there’s no forgiveness for the perfect A less than perfect man may fall 7 times But no forgiveness for the perfect On my knees begging for mercy But there is no mercy for the perfect They say a righteous man may fall 7 times But no forgiveness for the perfect I could promise you, my dear, I’d change For you my life I’d rearrange But I won’t waste your precious time, Your life no longer will I begrime— I’ll stop asking for forgiveness For there’s no forgiveness for the perfect I’ll just live my life the way I choose And hope that it is worth it I’ll stop begging you for mercy For there is no mercy for the perfect I’ll just live my life, await my fate There’s no forgiveness for the perfect Kiss the children every night for me... My pen is always free To find When most sublime My mind Is still so bound By rhyme Each word and sound Left undefined By rhyme I find Abrasively Will grind In teeth Distastefully Bequeath Each line That chimes Pervasively In ears And fears Begrime Invasively My head To dread Implacably This crime Of rhyme As if it were a wrinkle In the fabric Of all time

A Wrinkle in Rhyme
What can I say about your charm and grace? Nothing that'll hold a candle to the glow of you I can just close my eyes and see your face The beauty of your eyes still pierces me clean through The sparkle thrown and the curve of lid Attract me like a moth to flame Deep in my heart this love I’ve hid Love of your laugh, your soul, your frame The cheeks I bite; the lips I kiss… Your kisses I’ll drink to quench this thirst I sing your praises, please never dismiss This ***** boy, because I loved you first And forward we’ll march through this torrent of time Wandering together on our common quest And through these hard moments, which lately begrime, We’ll hurtle directly and finish this test I see the love and sadness in your eyes The love, I’ll cling tight to, the sadness, arrest You are mine...       ...and I am all yours This journey can’t break us, for our love is best

For My Valentine
A glorious ship sets sail, Robust engines begin to fire. A billowing cloud marks their trail Whisking along, climbing higher. Soon to find they’re moving frail, Over-capacity, the engines tire. Panic… passengers want to bail Before the ships fatigue is dire. “The ships too big to fail”, Assured the disguised liar Over the radio in a voice so stale, He sold the tickets to every buyer. Acting like there’s no need to worry The crew continues out to sea, News on board spreads in a hurry, The passengers whisper quietly. The crewman shouting, “all aboard!”, They look around, only to see, Transport of the vaulted horde As their count exceeds capacity. For profit loomed so temptingly, Blighted the soul in greedy begrime, Of that owner who sits at home, The culprit in this unwatched crime As the magistrate declared he’s free to roam. Back on the ship, the haul is flooding, So abrupt, they had no time. Sinking further to the depths and sure to drown, They let out a last and desperate horn to chime, As water rising—muffled the sound. “We’ll do everything we can!”, Exclaims the man who’s pockets lined, Pays off investigators to seal his plan, A freak accident without blame to find, Invisible strings puppeteer, The death of thousands into happenstance, Foul play at the hands of a financier, Onto his next venture without a second glance. Perhaps one day a corrected fate Will rise in the eyes of history, And right the legacy of our current state, Shedding light on the darkness of the shadow of inequality.

just image what a pickle our planet would be in were another virus to escape a labratory's unsecured tin     the one that is presently circulating around the globe   sure has caused much ruin within our world's lobe these labratories need a thorough investigation so as the diseases they house don't affect any nation in some countries the use of bioweapons are condoned and the experimentation   has been proficiently honed it is a frightening prospect that's playing out in real time what airborne contagions maybe aimed to begrime

Just Imagine (Metaphor Poem)
"William Barr is my name, But you can call me AG Barr. Protecting Donald Trump must be The highlight of my repertoire. "I'll defy the rule of law, And I don't give a **** if I'm-- Despite what others say or think-- A sly accomplice to his crime." "Lindsey Graham is my name, Call me Senator Graham, please. Selling one's soul to the devil is Where I have my expertise. "I don't care if Trump's corrupt Or stretches the truth all the time. If he furthers my goals, I will Be an accomplice to his crime." "Devin Nunes is my name, But you can just call me Devin. Having Trump as president Is a right-wing extremist's heaven. "If you want to obstruct justice, Follow the president's paradigm. Give up your integrity AND Be an accomplice to his crime." "Sarah Sanders is my name. I am THE press secretary. Whenever I lie for President Trump, I just say a quick Hail Mary. "Working for this president Is something that I'd call sublime. No one really cares if he Or she's an accomplice to his crime." So many people willing to lie-- So many people willing to begrime Their character and reputations As accomplices to the president's crime. -by Bob B (5-5-19)
