 Aug 2018 reverie
Jack Smith
It's a scary feeling, meeting someone good
You waited so long and pictured the day
That they'd come along and take you away

But it's not like the movies, nothing is clear
On where we'll be this time next year

Maybe waking up, in my arms
Or walking down the aisle; in that barn
Perhaps driving down the road
In another random country, we want to go

Or time apart leads us down seperate paths
Things go wrong all the time
But you've given me something i've not had for a while

Hope

It is sad that you're moving so soon
But for you i'd travel to the furthest moon

A feeling has been planted
It's started to grow
A dream has begun
Lets see where this goes.
Hopefully around the world

She Writes
I hide pieces of myself
Wrapped up in a bow
Anything so you can’t see
The broken me underneath

My sender forgot to mark me
Handle with care
I’ve been damaged
Lost in transit

When I finally arrive
At your feet
I hope you  can look past the cracks
And cherish my pieces

When I hurt, I need you
because you hurt me that day
when I learned no one could hurt me
the way you hurt me that day.

wow
I was always lost.
I think I may be found, now
or at least I know you're out there
looking for me.
I'm someone to look for now.

slight fright in the wind
flashed past my eyes
easy fear and anxiety
a desert in the soul and heart

faint light of the dark
the cold is felt fleetingly
slight fear
but only one moment of happiness

Born
I think we are at our most vulnerable
when you assume our reality
instead of embracing it
change it
Or be daring about it

In the name of ambition
You've seen stars twinkle
in your amusement
your heart leaped

Leaped towards uncertainty
the vigorous unknown waters
that test our conviction
our supposed dreams
stuck on a loop of hope

You try
but the bumps and the commas
reminds you
that this  world is made of
Extreme unbearable ache

Marisol Quiroz
there is a book within my heart
of poems you've never seen
poems you've never read
poems you'll never read.
and from deep within my heart
with my pen of black ink
i hope that you might read them
and say that you still love me.

― i'm afraid not everything i write is pretty
and just like that day turned to night / and just like that my problems came to light
Sigh

Sylvia Plath
"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)"
