As the wind breezed into the meadow, it spoke, "I can't stay here forever. I have to keep moving forward. This is how I exist. This is who I am."

We were a strange kind
your mind ignited mine
we grew on eachother like a fertilized vine
& crashed and burned before our time

ours is a tale I long to rewrite
let ink spill out, 7 chapters in a night
regretting words I hissed in spite
forgiving ourselves for ending the fight

I'd start back before I knew your name
slip into to a less polluted time
before I cried after drinking red wine
back when our souls were intertwined

before contracts of our destiny were signed
before my heart was forced to resign
once upon a time,
I was yours and you were mine

This is where I grew up broken
And I still am
I'm trying to find my missing pieces

This is where I fell apart
I'm still not together
I'm searching for a way to snap things into place

Understanding is out of my reach
I walk with limited sight
Hoping that the next thing I stumble upon
Will be an answer
Will help me move forward

The word potential is one of self sabotage.
It is dedicated to those unable to put their dreams to work.
Potential is a word given to the indicated who are poised to have talent but no drive, ambition but no discipline.
Potential is given to the abundant group of people who are able to breathe but never live life.
Potential.
A word made to create your grave before you've died.
I haven't figured out how to stay away from the trap.
However, a promise to myself is that I will do more then breathe.

Let me smoke another cigarette
Say I'll quit
But never do, oh the regret
You are what I exhale and need to

Forget

The deed is done
And no one won

We both took an L
You the hardest I can tell
I hope things go swell
Wrapped up in your demons blanket
Just make it by saying fake it

Let's just say
You're simply news from yesterday

Before I looked forward, I looked at the sky
I looked at birds whose numbers will die
I looked at the plane threatened with tragedy
I observed the moon conquered by humanity

Before I looked forward, I looked to my right
I looked at the gas stations that filled me with fright
I saw the grass littered with trash
I looked at the stores begging for cash

And before I looked forward, I looked to the ground
I looked at the bubblegum blackened and browned
I saw the asphalt crumbling fast
I looked at the coal which once was vast

So before I looked forward, I looked right behind
I looked at the coal burnt sky drifting high
I saw the foundations of our nations
I looked at the people ignoring the implications

Then I looked up, and I looked straight forward
I looked for an end to all our horrors
I saw that soon it would all be done
And I looked forward, and I saw the sun.

Dazed Dreaming
Distance..
You know?
That thing I put between us.

Distance..

It saved me..
From you..
That forced wedge?
I could finally breathe again.

Distance..

Woke me up bran new.
No more knowing that your nearby.
No more pretending to be alright.

Distance..
Was my answer.
It's what I needed.
Its what
Freed me from you.

Distance made me realize I could do so much better without you.
and it also made me see the man you'll never be.
Wont go away? Cool...watch me uproot and fly away.

Maybe I don't mind turning into a pillar of salt.
Maybe looking back for a brief second,
is the only way you can move forward.
