On a cold and
Snowy November
The trees start to
Shack and shiver
Abd the temperature
Begins to drop and
The leaves covered
Are in snow and it's
Winter wonderland so
Pure and benign
And so breathtaking
Winter has just begun.
Cold šŸ„¶ šŸ„¶ Day
Max Vale Sep 4
As the days get shorter,
The autumn takes our leaves away.
As the night grows longer,
The winter comes to stay.
The skies they go grey,
Streaked by purple, red and orange.
The sun bows and says its goodbye,
ā€œGlory, Glory, Gloryā€,
Echoes into the darkness.
But with the cold comes purpose,
Let the fields sleep for a while.
Look up my love,
Itā€™s snowing!

Winter whispers with a frosty chill,

A frozen lake, a moonlit thrill.

Spring breathes life with every bloom,

A world reborn from winter's gloom.

Autumn dances with leaves on fire,

A fleeting warmth before we retire.

But summer, oh summer, the burden you bring,

The stifling heat, the stillness, the sting.

We long for winterā€™s crisp kiss,

For springā€™s bright loom, for autumnā€™s bliss.

Your endless days, your blazing sun,

Make us yearn for when you're done.
iā€™d describe the way the sun feels on my face if i knew i could do it justice. its late autumn and the bus came directly on the minute. i hate orange but i couldnā€™t look at the sun and then tell you that. bless the city and bless the trees but bless suburbia most of all. suburbia is like a teenage boy who doesnā€™t try, is effortless in hs perfect face (perfect teeth, perfect soul, perfect mouth). heā€™s my favourite and he smiles when i walk into class. his hair is orange this time of year. iā€™ve never told him i hate orange because i donā€™t hate it on him. autumn peels the hot wax of summer off and my skin sings with the fresh air.

Your cold breath dissipates to wind,
Blowing cold against my bare cheek
Creating goosebumps

Frigid, I clench my jaw
Afraid to give you frostbite
With icy exhales

I love you in the wintertime,
Where the world grows as cold
As your heart
A cold winters night
Snow blankets the earth
Tonight and there's a bitter chill
In the air tonight and
Silent snowflakes kiss the ground
And winter's quiet beauty
Has suddenly arrived tonight.

snow is pretty.
why?
because
it falls from the sky
and pause
when it lies on the ground
i get drowned
in the endless white
where the light
ceased to exist

it was a wednesday.
i was driving to work and i thought
ā€˜it is such a bright day today!ā€™

no i didnā€™t.
i thought,
ā€œit is such a bright day today.ā€

the sun's reflection off of other cars piercing my eyes,
something burning at the back of them as i try to look through the glare,
all dangerously obscuring my view.

(stop trying to sear my wounds shut when all i want to do is let them bleed)
(just let me bleed)

ā€˜take me back to winter,ā€™
i thought.

maybe then i can fall apart without also being burnt alive.

You have bested me again
Winter
With your cleaver endeavour
grasping on with your frost-bitten hands
Awaken sun and spite the cold
Warm the day and colourise the flowers
Make them beautiful bright and bold
Run through the trees
Awaken the flora
Ring spring throughout the land
Tell Winter their work is done
Now begone
The world is in my command
To those who seek me, I will come
Find me in the morning due
With blooming buds and vibrant hues, I'll paint the world anew

winter produces
dead leaves,
that when raked
breathes
life in the soil
that creates trees
in months to come,
air in my lungs now; reprieve.
