My first thought? The grass tickles
it pokes into my dress
thousands of offending green prickles

I am planted in a garden of wilted flower stems
My eyes flicking around, the only truth-be-told gems
and even those, they stare dully around me

little girl I am, looking around like a woman of seventy

It's disgusting here I think of the place I'm seated
Will anyone come get me? No?
I huff, angrily, defeated

My hands inch towards the crayon, my eyes flick
towards the wall, built from fading red bricks
That's very high, not to mention thick
and the more I think about it, the more it makes me sick

I don't know who he is, but on the other side is a child
and in this whole ugly world, so horribly defiled
he shall be the only one I can count on

too bad we've never spoken
too bad your head is horribly broken

But he shall love you, and he shall care for you
he loves you, and he'll take you far far away
and for the rest of forever, you two will play

but first, you must speak

"I love him, forever and always, I love this child"

I have never seen him, I trust he exists
But I'm annoyed. It is so boring here.
Can't he take me out of this?

First, you must talk.

All right, all right. I let out a sigh
grab the crumpled paper sheets from nearby

*Dear, Lord, how're you today?
This didn't quite capture what I wanted, think I'll have a part two eventually.

Maybe, we're not entirely scared of Love

maybe we're just scared on the idea
of being vulnerable and weak and dependent.

Freaking out whenever we feel
our walls crumble down
for someone

   - and we can't afford
to let our adamant walls down
can't, yet

Wall is high
Brick on brick
I build it thick
Let no one in
fear is sick

Society continually asks about relationships;
How many you've had, how many you've faked.
Society constantly asks about affection;
Whether you've expressed affection or not.

Society never asks how many times love lead to heartbreak;
What you undeservedly deserved.
Society never asks if you're okay;
Whether you're living positively or whether you feel like just another brick in the wall, waiting to be vandalised and demolished.

Letting them win,
all those who hurt you,
made you question yourself,
and put you down
isn't in the form of a wall.
Put your defenses up,
but remember to let it down
from time to time
for those who matter.

When their actions
freeze your heart through,
you turn as cold as they,
when you can't be content,
and happiness is all but a lie,
then that is
letting them win.
Let me return to past, let me recall tonight
With me cries, each corner and wall tonight

What let flowers to slit throat in my garden
Who has invoked the curse to fall tonight

My screams have awoken people from sleep
Separation to be mourned in rainfall tonight?

He might be Abbas-e-Ali collecting tears
Mourners have sighted him tall tonight

Mirza, your phone is ringing since evening
Who told you to deny her call tonight?
Poet can make you cry, while recalling his past. Hold on and wipe your tears, there is even more grief.
atop the apex
is a most precarious point
to be stationed

the slightest tremor
can topple down the tip's vantage
engineers know this

yet some will insist
on being seated trickily there
clinging to the edge

like inane humpty dumpty
setting himself well up for
an inglorious fall

You’re acting so cold,
Sending chills through my bones.
You’re acting so bold,
That it sounds like a scold.

I knew who you were from the start
But now I don’t know who you are anymore.
Maybe it’s just a phase
Because of all the pain you endured.

But brick by brick
the towers have grown tall
And I can’t see you at all.

I am trying to find a worn area,
I am trying to find a window
To the softness that once existed
Because it feels like
there is nothing between us at all.

This, my defined edge
These mountains are my borders
Don't cross nature's mark.
