~ The mind is a dangerous thing, at least in this reality
Thinking you can handle it, maybe in its simplest formality
~ It'll play its tricks on you, cause massive amounts of confusion
The understanding of this and that, it's all a delusion
~ The mind says you want it, maybe even need it
But reality says you can't have it, not even a little bit
~ It's one or the other, so which statement is true?
You listen to both of them, but that's nothing new
~ The mind makes the choice, to try and benefit life
But reality is the decision, and cuts like a knife
~ Wanting this, desiring that. Will I get it if I try?
The mind will say yes, but reality will still pry
~ The two turn into confusion, overwhelming ones emotions
Too much to handle, you just give up all notions
~ Wishing you could understand, what is the conclusion?
Can I achieve this? Maybe reality is the real delusion.

Simply how our minds and our reality like to confuse us. Was told to write about "Wanting things you can't have"

Faerie flitting through the trees
Please, oh please, don't come near me
I don't want your taunts and tricks
Your words are worse than stones and sticks

Though you look so fine and pretty
With your voice that's so bewitching
Your fair, fair face hides mischief well
And all the secrets you won't tell

Your glistening wings, they flutter fast
As you loop and circle past
Lost in the maze of tangled leaves
A shining speck on the summer breeze

she's my sister
that'll never change.
she played tricks,
now it's not the same.
our once unbreakable trust
will have to be built up again.

While the clock ticks to the hour, yesterday's remains washed
clean in the shower
To obtain her power
Applying her make-up for the night, making sure everything's
just right, holding tonight doesn't end in a fight
She'll do anything she can
To please a man, even if it's not part of the plan
The night is coming to its peek
It's the money that she will seek
Each night at the bar, hopping tonight she'll go far, we all
know what you are
We can see the attention you crave, by the way you behave
You're willing to be any mans nightly slave
& you only pretend to be brave
As the bar doors close, you return to your hoes, you think you're
slick & nobody knows about your ***** shows
I can't tell you what to do
But just remember when they are through, they'll just leave you,
you're their ***** fling, their one night thing
They'll never be your king nor give you a ring
So go home, feeling alone
Waiting by your phone
But let it be known
When you're pretending to be nice it's because
Your love cones with a price!!

What do you do
When your heart yearns for one thing
And your brain wants another?
You listen a little bit to both.
But what do you do
When it is your heart that is in dispute
A half wants one thing
And the other wants another
Is it better to do then neither
Or is it better to mute them both
And listen to the conscience?

What do you do
When your conscience goes to war
With your heart and your mind?
You listen to the majority.
But what do you do
When you know the minority to be true
Because in fact, the heart is forever
In love with the conscience.
It is the mind, the mind it is
That tricks the heart
Into believing that
It is in quarrel with the conscience.

So what do you do, really?
You be a good human
And listen to the conscience.

Through the thunder nothing is heard
A shadow of a voice imprinted on the mind
The wind howls and masks their screams
Can one's own thoughts be trusted?
Not in search of, but finding oddities
Things that seem senseless
They fill the crevices left in dreams
There is no help for the silent
Mind tricks and sleight of hand
Say the words and life is lightened
One load at a time
