Peasant The Poet Aug 2019
Willow tree woeful tree,
leafy lament
sweetly sways
billowing and bent.
Tearful tresses
a crowning tent
weepy whispers
windy wishes sent.

Inside every tree
Once grown, is a seed of life
And death yet to be
Tuesday 12 - How we all have the potential to live and die ... YUP.

If he were the sun
I'd gladly embrace him
Even if it meant I'd burn

If he were an endless ocean
I'd swim until I drowned
Just to be with him

And if he were the sky
I'd live my entire life learning how to fly
Just to reach him

Even if he doesn't feel the same
I'd still give him room to say
I don't love you that way

And it'll tear me apart
He'll forget it by the morning
It won't mean a thing to him

And if he were to fall in love
It would break my heart
I'd let go for him

But even if it breaks my heart
I knew it from the start
I'd still do anything for him

If he were heaven
I would change my religion
I'd pray to God to let me in

If he were hell
I would devastate the world
I'd suffer in eternity for him

And if he were an angel
I'd be his devil
So I could sin for him

If he were a desert
I'd wander endlessly
Just to find him

If he were a forest
I'd climb every tree
Just to see him

I'd do anything for him
But what I'd do for him,
Would he do for me?

When a Dryad cries …

… the bright red leaves
drip
and the tree stands
in a pool
of blood

… forest green leaves
drip
and the tree stands
in a pond
of heartbreak

… red and green leaves
drip
and the tree stands
in a lake
of sorrow

There is no sadder song
than when a tree dies,
there is no deeper grief
than when a Dryad cries.

I set upon the Grotto,
where the hanged men dangled, dear.
Those desecrated corpses,
no longer held their fear.

I fashioned up an axe,
To **** the living, certainly not the dead.
See I’m taking out the demons,
and nightmares inside my head.

Through dusk and dawn again,
I hack away with glee.
Happy little madness,
please end this ****** tree.

Fingertips reach out against the forgotten wood.
An old wicked tree, gnarled with memories.
It seemed only moments ago, each groove
and every ridge was known.

A palm outstretched delicately, hoping to feel,
pressed against the rot of fading time.
The wounds of the mind run deep.

The hand pulls back, steadies it’s rage,
erupts into useless follies.

And still stands no closer to remembering.

Like the rain I was born to fall,
Down to the earth to rise,
And someday to return.
I greet the sky with green fingers.
And hold the sun’s hand.
Her touch is like breathing to me,
It keeps me alive,
And in return I keep you too.
As I drift to the grave I leave my kids in my place,
Where they will grow,
And hold the sun’s hand as I did long ago.

I can see myself
Like a tree
Twisting and turning
Growing
Into an adult me
Adult Tree

Id like to hang from a tree
like a monkey with a carefree philosphy

But roots lie dead at the tree
and I wonder what I'll be
when death gives its final decree
And we turn over a new leaf
so I'm led to believe.
Because all i see is a painful plea,
but do i believe?
I guess that's what stops my sleep
