Would it help me?
Would it change me?
Would I overthink my life and my decisions?
Would my life be the same?
Would I still live in the now or would I just think of tomorrow?

I don’t know what I would do!

But I know what I am doing today!

Living in the now!

The diffused gleam of jaded dreams
like a siren call upon our desires deep
to sink again in their harrowed streams.

We walk on towards better things
trailing the hummingbird of hope.
Onward, intrepid on rainbow wings.

We live to die another day and begin
with a fated end. Till then we spend
our hours fueling the fire held within.

Why settle for being the fallen fruit
when we can sprout, lush and green?
Again, we will grow; we will take root.

Today is the day I rebel
Against everything
I've ever known and felt

Today is the day I cut off
My feelings from my head
So they don't interfere

But maybe I wanna wait
Till tomorrow,
So I can say bye.

Sadness is as much
A part of our life
As happiness is and
this is the reason
I am writing now
For tomorrow who knows
I might barely
be able to stitch
The two parts together
With one mention
Of your name.

O, dreams of tomorrow,
Keep us alive today.
To meet you tomorrow,
Help us survive today.

Our little minds
Find it too hard to tackle,
All the situations
While being tied in shackles.

Shackles of expectations
And weight on dreamy eyes,
These are the hurdles,
We are free otherwise!

Little race that we have
To complete the to-do lists,
We wear blinders on eyes,
While walking through the mist.

To break all the barriers
And to find that sun ray,
Focusing on the future,
Let’s find our drive today.

O, dreams of tomorrow!
Help us survive today.
To meet you tomorrow,
Keep us alive today.
So, today I accidentally clicked on the bookmarks folder and found HelloPoetry lying at the bottom! It is surprising how we sometimes forget about the things we once used to love doing. So here is my attempt to make a comeback.
The Thoughts running through my mind regarding the ongoing scenario combined with my eternal fear for future.

I stayed up all night
dreaming and hopeful of tomorrow
because I knew I'd be spending it with you.
but things get in the way
and today doesn't seem as bright as it looked last night
and when you told me that I wouldn't be seeing you
I stayed up all night
dreaming and hoping of another day
that I'd get to spend time with you.

Yesterday,
I was stronger than I thought
earlier today,
Not my strongest anyway
for tomorrow,
I strive to grow.

is our reality being revised
will it dissipate into the winds of tomorrow
instability with imagination will not endure the cycle
consequences of what is to happen are above understanding
the beautiful perception of what is will take its place
retyping and replacing what was known as everyday
how will we feel at the end of this journey

Davenport Tomorrow
by Michael R. Burch

Davenport tomorrow ...
all the trees stand stark-naked in the sun.

Now it is always summer
and the bees buzz in cesspools,
adapted to a new life.

There are no flowers,
but the weeds, being hardier,
have survived.

The small town has become
a city of millions;
there is no longer a sea,
only a huge sewer,
but the children don't mind.

They still study
rocks and stars,
but biology is a forgotten science ...
after all, what is life?

Davenport tomorrow ...
all the children murmur through vein-streaked gills
whispered wonders of long-ago.
