I am screaming in my mind
Crying with dry eyes
Dying of broken heart
Isha Kumar Oct 2014
It's like screaming
and wailing so loud.
Then, it's like being trampled
by the oncoming crowd.

It's like feeling
you're better than them all.
Then, you start shrinking
and become so small.

It is like wading
into safe, shallow waters.
Then, it's like drowning
and your breath begins to falter.

It is like wanting
to have all you need.
Then, it's like understanding
what you felt was greed.

It is like transforming,
becoming strong and invincible.
Then, it's like being scared
of turning weak and invisible.

It is like questioning,
asking them all, 'why?'.
Then, it's like realising
in the end, all must die.

The things we know.
The emotions we feel.
Yes, they wound us.
But, in time, they all heal.

Dear sister,
I am to blame for the scars littering your wrists,
I am to blame for your sleeve clad arms in the summers heat,
I am to blame for the tears you shed
and the insecurities that torture you day and night,
I am to blame.

Dear friend,
I am to blame for the saddness that constantly follows you,
I am to blame for the days you spend alone,
I am to blame for your scars and burns,
I am to blame for the tears and screams
you choke on until you feel sick,
I am to blame.

I am to blame and I know that,
yet I still push you away and pretend I don't notice the hurt and disappointment in your eyes.
I push you away even though you are the two most important people in my life and the thought of living without you is unbearable.
I push you away even though I love you more than I could ever love myself.

And I dont know why I do this, even though the loneliness I feel without you physical hurts and gets so bad I keel over and want to scream
and fall down
and drink
and smoke
and do anything to stop the hollow feeling that engulfs me.
But I am to blame for my own saddness.
And I am to blame for yours.
this is really bad but i just needed to get it off my chest.

Dear peer of mine,
Thank you for your shouting that interrupted the silence of my walk home.
I'll be sure to mend the seams you've broken.
Dear imbecilic ***,
Thank you for making my instinctual sense of alarm spike with your gibberish yells.
I'll be sure to fight or flight your obvious nightmare.
Dear egotist,
Thank you for the several minutes of self doubt you caused me when you shouted horrifically in my direction.
I'll be sure to note your superficial standards and, uh, not give a ****.
Dear secret admirer,
Thank you! I'm glad to make you just sooo nervous that you feel you just can't come up with the words to express your emotions nor can you approach me in an appropriate manner.
I'll be sure to keep on doing my own thing and you can observe<quietly> if you want.
Why must teenagers ruin my walk home from school with shouting nonsense? This is the stages after said nonsense.

Tick tock. Tick tock. The sound of a clock, the sound of finger nails on a chalk board adds to the ticking, a sound like rushing air but no breeze enters the chamber and then ringing silence and pitch black darkness cloaks the dim lighting and an atrocious familiar scream issues from below your feet and the lights flicker back on.

How it feels when someone you love is hurting...

and you don't know how bad they were hurting

until it's too late to save them.

Repost if you are one among the few of us who recognizes this feeling.

Please comment, I love to hear feedback!

I stand to the side, watching. I scream and nothing comes out. My throat burns, my chest heaves. I gasp and cry, needing someone to hear. I try to run, try to somehow stop the invisible force from wrecking every last piece of me. Then I realize my arms are constricted, strapped forcibly to my body.

I am silent and I am in a straightjacket.

All I need to be is screaming and saving myself.

Because everything I’ve ever known tells me that you won’t come and save me.

But then again, didn’t I say everything I ever knew was being destroyed?

i am terrified of the voice
of my father because it
sounds of unknown irony -  how
the one who is called to
love is able to spin fear and
anxious hands and nervous thoughts
through words screamed
so loud the blood vessels in my
eyes break instead
of his.
how do i repair a relationship that was never healed in the first place
The shallow breath of loneliness
oppressed the room
trapped like pictures hanging on the wall
a sullen sideboard
carpet sprouting monkey flowers
spider webs, bare table legs
forgotten moments
thoughts unexpressed
the wind screaming to be let in.
