How did I end up back here
Blind to what lies ahead
Yet in the fading road behind
I see each bridge and bend

Like the tide I have returned
With your mem'ry on my mind
Yet like the tide, my lessons learned
Wash away before my eyes

I lost so much with you, my dear
To walk along your way
The path we planned together
Would have led us both astray.
So,
I washed the silt, the sand, the dirt
In brackish water tears
As hand in hand, God led me on
Back to familiar piers.

The dust I stirred up as I left
All settled with each stride
So here again, I journey on
With you not by my side.

I guess thats just how it goes when you break up in a small river town.

The moon hung high in the sky,
I was floating on waves of affection,
You held me grounded in your arms.

My heart races with something unknown.
The sand was cool beneath my feet,
But wrapped in your arms I was warm.

The ocean sang a song to the moon,
Caught in its rhythm we danced,
We tripped, kissed and laughed at unspoken jokes.
Hearts pounding frantically for each other.

On the beach with you,
Bathed in silver light,
I let love flow through me
Healed and happy in you arms.
Couldn't think of a name but I kind of like this one.

I imagine you're out on the shore,
sharing gentle kisses with the salty waves.
Watching sunsets dance by you while
you feel the burning rays bounce off your skin.
But you don't mind the feeling,
because it's something you know so well.
The beach almost feels like home,
it's like you could stay there forever,
if only there was a little something more.
I'm sorry what's missing is the warm feeling
of my arms wrapped softly around your waist.
i said i'd be there soon.
soon isn't soon enough.

Oh, Golden globe;
Far out to sea,
You seem to beckon;
Call out to me,
You light a path
For me to follow,
Your voice is warm,
Not cold or hollow,
Though sorely tempted,
I must decline,
But wait once more
For you to shine.

The clouds moved by,
The wave crests danced,
But I couldn’t leave;
For I was entranced ...

How deep is a puddle?
Underneath the sky
Atop the earth
And soaking into the dirt beside the rugged asphalt

Created beside the hand of man
How it reaches in
Just to stir itself into a frenzy

How it seeks to meddle and mend the crooked stream
From its own perspective
When the preference is not to wind but to align

For this I say
Unto the man
Who holds the line
With his elbows locked and intertwined

That a winding way is not a way
Or a challenge from the immortal hand
It's just a steam of the natural
It's just the earth trying to begin again

Pulling the water back to the sea
To grind the eternal rock to sand

Ever so slowly

And this is why
Directly beside your creation
The puddles began

Soft sand and hot beaches,
Wild winds and beach *****,
Towels and sun tan lotions.
A little girl as old as six,
Kicking up broken shells and sticks.
Wind-blown sand ripped across her bare ankles,
Hair a mess,
Full of tangles.
Squishing sand between little toes,
Little miss curious with cheeks of rose.
A toothy grin turned up to the sun,
Laughter ringing through the crowd,
A mother calling out, "Go have fun!"
Long dark hair bouncing through the crowd,
Skipping back to the shore,
Smiling faces all around.
Suppressed memories of a little girl the age of six,
Something remembered,
A mind to fix.
Suppressed memories breaching the surface.

Stomping threw the sand
On this hot wasteland
I can barely stand
As the wind rages
As my body ages
So does my hate
For leaving me
To my own fate
Lost in time forever
Only sand can tell my tale

I think I know
What it is you want

All the secrets
And everything we had

All of it
You want it gone

The memories we made
All the love we had

Its Like an old *****
Buried in the sand

To be swept away to sea
And never to be seen again.
Wish I could change your mind, Sometimes I just come here to be close to you, I Miss You so much♡
